Actually, Abraham Lincoln said it, but it was on the locket Pollyanna's dad gave her. But you get the point.

Plus, it's just easier to find things to complain about than it is to find good stuff to say about things/people/whatever.

Well, urmm.. it is easier to find things to complain about like invisible said.. You'll still complain about things even if you're happy everyday and the bad stuff makes you appreciate the good stuff.
