So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Thursday. 2.3.11 12:31 am
Going to France tomorrow. I've sort of packed.
I also managed to fix the worst computer virus I have ever faced... the virus infected explorer.exe and winlogon.exe.... the fix included creating an operating system on my thumb drive, changing the BIOS to boot from the thumb-drive, stealing fundamental windows files from another computer, replacing the infected files while running linux from the thumb-drive... it was intense. I definitely sent my computer into an infinite boot loop at least twice, but luckily I was able to pull it back from the edge.
Almost sent my roommate into an infinite boot loop when I left my phone on silent and accidentally missed our ride home from work tonight... you could tell she wanted to strangle me but she acted very civil. :C Hopefully she'll also come back from the edge?
I have a small crush on this guy who lives far away but I kinda told him that and now he hasn't written me back for about 1.6 weeks. FML.
But YAY FRANCE
Sweet, Sweet Unemployment
Wednesday. 1.26.11 10:22 pm
So I'm going to be unemployed this summer (a.k.a "between jobs"), and boy, am I looking forward to it. A whole summer without any working, yippee ki yay!
I am so excited about all of the things I'm going to do, I can barely write my thesis. The only thing that keeps me writing my thesis is to know that as soon as I finish it I can be unemployed!! YAY!
Here is a list of things I am going to do whilst unemployed this summer:
1. Play the harmonica.
2. Play the guitar.
3. Play the bodhran.
4. Play the flute.
6. Write poetry.
7. Finish my nanowrimo novel.
8. Read, read, READ. I have a whole separate list for this one.

10. Go owling.
11. Go the beach.
12. Go hiking.
13. Take a "giant ash-caldera" roadtrip.

24. Take a wedding-cake decorating class.
25. Go to church.

Listen to the Mustn'ts
Wednesday. 1.26.11 12:59 am
“Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”
Saturday. 1.22.11 5:21 pm
I erased every text that made me think of you
Each one made me think of you, as I erased them
One last time.
I erased every email you ever sent me that had any trace of kindness
There were so many kindnesses: I erased them all.
There is no record that you were ever kind.
Your flavor still lingers in sweet memories
So I will carefully dip them, one by one,
Like leftover food, I will wrap them up in cellophane
Put them in the back of the coldest part of my mind
And wait until they turn bad enough to throw away.
And as I throw them away
I will think of you
Molded over, rotting, putrid.
One last time.
