| ...engaged? Monday. 12.19.11 3:27 pm After a mere six years, five months of courtship, I am now engaged to be married. ![]() This was a complete surprise, I had no idea this was something Edward had planned. He apparently bought the ring back in June/July and everyone knew but me. And my family, because they can't keep a secret. No date set or anything like that. It took us six years to get this far, lord knows when we'll actually get around to setting a date or planning anything. I am very happy and very excited. Comment! (15) | Recommend! (7) Belated Halloween post. Tuesday. 11.15.11 3:02 pm My Princess Mononoke costume was pretty good. I made a necklace and earrings out of clay which was fuuuun. And the fur was super warm, which is good for a damp Pacific Northwest Halloween. My little sister invited us to a party thrown by one of her American Apparel co-workers (don't asked me why I accepted her invite, that sentence alone reads like a terrible nightmare). Anyway, we went for about 45 minutes but decided to leave because it was very crowded and I'm generally uncomfortable spending time at a place where I can see weirdo hipsters snorting cocaine (CLASSY). As we were leaving I was physically assaulted by a drunk girl for standing on her neighbor's lawn. I didn't realize I was standing on her neighbor's lawn, I thought I was on a curb. She drunkenly attempted to push me off of her "neighbor's lawn" but I kind of just stood there surprised, confused and slightly irked. She finally stumbled off to yell at other people and we left. EVENTFUL! The next night we went to a normal person's house where I ate lots of gummy candy and some cupcakes. And there was no cocaine (that I could see). Then I went to bed. Maybe I am getting too old for Halloween. Okay, here I am as Princess Mononoke (and if you look hard enough you can see Dagmar lurking in the background!). ![]() And here I am with Edward at the normal person's house. He was Wikus from District 9 and he made the hand all by himself and I am very proud of him because it looks really good and he could hold a beer with it. I don't know who that blurry person is. ![]() Comment! (12) | Recommend! never too old for halloween costumes Friday. 10.28.11 3:59 pm I’m going to be Princess Mononoke for Halloween. Originally I wanted to be Blondie from "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly," (young Clint Eastwood you so fine) but that turned out to be kind of spendy. I’ll get there, someday. THEN I was going to be a deer. The thing about that costume was that I’m like, really lazy. Antlers? I can’t make antlers. And where would I even buy them? The internet? I stole this idea from a friend only a week ago, it’s too late for that! Then I thought maybe I could use spray painted sticks. But really, how am I going to get sticks on my head? Plus, I’m pretty sure I’d just look like an idiot with spray painted sticks stuck to her head. I can’t really pull off ethereal. You know this if you’ve ever met me. While still debating on the whole deer concept I decided to look for inspiration at the always classy Fabric Depot on 122nd and Stark (really close to Gresham and right across the street from a handful of delightful strip clubs), and went into the Faux Fur Room. That’s right. An entire ROOM dedicated to huge reams of beautiful, shedding, faux fur. You guys, that shit was like $40 bones a yard. I can’t pay that. I can find a real fur coat at Goodwill for the same price. So I found like, a couple of feet of scrap faux fur for $7 bones and stared at it and wondered to myself what the fuck it would be good for. And then Edward was like, “OMG Princess Mononoke.” So I agreed because I’m kind of desperate. I’m wandering into pretty nerdy territory here and don’t know how I feel about wearing an anime costume. But I’m totally going to do it. Wish me luck. Comment! (4) | Recommend! welp Thursday. 10.20.11 6:19 pm time to purge my facebook friends list. [there was a picture here but i removed it because it was stretching out my page and i'm too lazy to edit the size. sowwy.] I guess maybe he could find some fine sistas at his new church. (I kind of always thought he was gay.) Comment! (3) | Recommend! |
