    THAT'S F*CKING RIGHT!!!!
Thank you Tyra for speaking out!!!! Tell them exactly where to shove it!!!! Because of people who say those things, is the reason women have low self esteem!! I have battled self esteem issue my whole life. Always been "plump", I now have a wonderful man who loves me. And LOVES my round ass!!! And with his support and people like you, I too have been able to say, "kiss my fat ass!!!" xoxo!!

    Yea Tyra,
You tell them! That's right. When i was looking in tabliods i was saying so what, i look like that too. Then i was like, you know what sometimes they do edit pictures and stuff. So I am so happy that you said that infront of everybody! YEA GURL...GO GET UM'

    Tyra,
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I have an 8 month old baby. Losing my pregnancy weight is not a priority for me right now. Someone told me it should be. You helped me realize that if I get back into shape it should be because I want to... not for a man or anyone else.

    Hi Tyra,
I just wanted to comment on your show from the other day. I have struggled with my weight for a long time. I know I will never be model thin but your show really inspired me to appreciate how I am. I was happy to find out that you are as normal as the rest of us and you have the same butt dimples as we all do! It's a comforting feeling to know that someone as beautiful as you is as normal as me so it finally made me feel better about myself. I cannot remember ever feeling good about myself until yesterday thanks to you. I think you are very inspiring and help a lot of girls out there with their self esteem. I want to say thank you for all of your honesty about your body and sharing things with us that many models would never dream of sharing. Thank you for finally making me realize that I DO have beautiful qualities about myself that I should just embrace and not feel like I need to live my life dieting and hating my body. THANK YOU TYRA for finally getting me to escape my crazy "fat" thoughts. I finally feel a sense of calming!

Keep up the inspiring work! We all thank you for it!

You're the best & thank you!

    Posted by: kimmy | February 2, 2007 06:33 PM

    Tyra,

I always comment on these things, but then when I come back I can't find my comment. I love what you said on this episode. You were in tears for what you had to say, and so was I. I am 18 and I think you are a great role model for me. I don't have the best self-esteem, but you are helping me make it better! I can't thank you enough for that. I like that you always take the time to think of your audience and not just the critics. You have great stories and I can't wait to hear them!

    Much love,
    Mary Catherine

    Tyra,

I've enjoyed watching you and your career over the past years as I've become a woman myself. Seeing you go from the days of the catwalks to where you are today is inspiring to all women. Now to watch these recent attacks on your weight seems so typical of the Hollywood Celebrity obession everyone has now a days. Do I think it's fair or just? Absolutley not, but I do feel we all have played a role in this weight obessed world we all live in. I believe we've all had times in our lives when we are so concious of our weight due to need to feel better about ourselves. Even today I can say when I woke up and looked in the mirror prior to showering I began to study different areas of my body that I viewed as "fat". I've always consider myself to be stong individual with sense of pride for what I look like. But I can't deny after watching tv or reading a magazine I start to question my own physique, and if it's "skinny" enough. It's the eternal critic in all of us! So where do we begin? How do we change the level of love we have for our own bodies? Or will we forever be our hardest critic?

    HEY MS TYRA!

Hi..... I dont really know what to say. I am proud of you for what you did on this show. It is so sad how many people think they are 2 FAT at 140 pounds and 120 pounds and 90 pounds. I can not imagine how they get themselves so brainwashed into thinking they are fat when they really are to skinny and sick. The media promotes being anorexic almost literally. There are way to many "Hot" stars who are to thin and have the wrong personality and attitude or low self-esteem. That causes the rest of the people to well, become brainwashed into this thinking. Thank you for showing SOME PEOPLE that being a bigger person is not bad and being to skinny can be a death sitchiation. (Thats the way I say situation. Any who...)And woman YOU TOLD THEM CURVE HATING CRITICS! You said not only kiss my tushy you said "FAT" tushy! lol Also I love that you allowed yourself to cry. It shows how much you care and feel for the people. Keep up your positive roll modeling Tyra!

    Love ya!

    Love your new fan,

    Dear Tyra,
I am not looking to have this comment posted, I just wish to express my opinion.
I watched your show today 2/2/07 and I thought the topic was great! However, the dilivery was something to be desired. The first 5 girls I agree, were out of control and for their own good they need to stop. But the way they were attacked was really bad. You told one of them to "shut up" and then when Dr Gary was suppost to be talking to them, he was yelling at them. I know you were trying to get a message across, but if Gary is a Dr., I would think he should know how to communicate in a way he could be heard and understood and the message absorbed. You made the comment that our reaction to falling is to but our hands out to protect ourself. Well the same applies to when you feel you are being attacked verbally we protect and defend ourself, which is exactly what those girls were doing. They were not listening, they were defending and that is what I think Dr. Gary would expect of a 21 22 or 23 year old girl. He has the PHd and is older. I felt sorry for them. I was happy to hear you say to the one girl "I will give you a chance to speek and then went back to her. But then while she was talking Dr. Gary started talking over her, interrupting her AGAIN, What is that all about? I thought he was trained to be a better listener that a yeller. I thought that was soooooooooo rude. I thought then you should have told him to "shut up" at that point becaue she was still talking. I just felt that part of your show was very poor. The message again great but I question "Dr." Gary. You NEVER blast people. That is not communication. I think talking stern, direct and giving them something to think about is great! But I'm sure they left feeling angry and defensive. I noticed they did not stay like the other girls for the rest of the show.
    Thanks for reading this.
    Sincerely Kathleen

I dont really even need to comment you said it all, I think you will be talked about for a long time for your position on curvacious women. Wonderful show I'm glad you gave them a piece of your mind. They have nothing on you!

Dear Tyra, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, I have to admit I never watched your show because I was always envious of you and your beauty, you brought tears to my eyes after watching your show, it made me realize how selfish I have been to myself and my husband, I ran him away purposely because I refuse to be intimate with him because of my weight, and how I looked, it's been 21 months since I have seen him and for some reason I'm feel happier this way, I'd rather for him to find happiness elsewhere, then to have to look into his eyes or risk the chance of him wanting to caress me, I must admit, I'm not as strong as you are I have been feeling this way since I was 16 and I'm 31 now, being big has made my life a living hell, I have never done anything that most young adults my age should have done while growing up, sometimes I feel as if it's just too late, I just feel like giving up, it seems as if the only alternative I had was suicide, I find myself praying to God to go on, but I never made an effort to help myself because for the last 12 years I've felt completely useless, as if my life just didn't matter, but today all that is changing, you have made such a difference in my life, and to think this was the first time I had ever watched your show, it's almost as if you were heaven sent. Thank you soooo much you are truly an Angel.

Tyra, your show was great. Thank you for standing up for all of us. I used to be very self concious, but after watching your show I have changed my perception somewhat. I don't beat myself up over what I look like as much. I love your show. Your beautiful, don't listen to the media, they suck. Thank you for helping me and others feel good about ourselves.

Your mama is so proud of you right now.....You not only set the critics straight but you saved some girl and made her see who she really is. I trully believe even if you were not a well off lady....you would still be making a different in this messed up world. I know you do not know me but I am very proud of you and please keep up the great work.

Hi Tyra. I'm 14 and I live in Ontario. I've had really low self esteem for a long time, and I've never really felt beautiful. When I got to highschool it got a little better, I managed to change my image a little, but I still didn't feel very confident. Since I started watching your show I've felt so different, so much more confident and beautiful. You've been a huge role model for me, and a true inspiration. I love your show, you're so fun to watch and so passionate about the issues you confront! I loved your speech on this show and it really touched me.

Thank you for caring so much about your viewers and all the issues you talk about on your show. I hope the Tyra Show's going to be on for a long time!

I find it quite hilarious when all of a sudden these few pictures of you were stamped as fat and unattractive...I mean, do people not have eyes or something? People watch your show every day and your not fat there, and so, how can you all of a sudden just put on pounds for a picture?
    Hi-ho-larious.
    Tyra, you are so sexy!!
LOL fat is the LAST thing you are....
    aahhhah
    what a worldddd.

you did the da*$ thing girl, curves are sexy and beatiful,it is kinda of funny because i hear people everybody asking me everyday how to get booty bigger or they wish they butt was bigger. you look beatiful. keep your head up.

    Thank you Tyra.

Thank you for being the right type of model... A Role Model. I will admit a while back I was not sure how your show(s) would influence my daughters. But I see that you truly are a great person. And all four (ok 5 if you count the hubby) have become fans.

I am a plus-size woman and have been most of my life. I prayed my daughters would never go through the amount of horrible things I went through. Just because at 13 years old I was 5¡¯8, 135 lbs and size 34 DD bust, I was told I was too fat. It took me until I was in my 30¡¯s to realize I was a beautiful person (even now that is hard to type). I wish I had that body now!

My daughters are not twigs but they also are not overweight. They are within their body height/ weight, but all three of them are teased about their size. All three of them are very tall for their ages, my ten year old is five foot, 12 year old is 5'8( 135 lbs) and my oldest is 14 and six foot( 160).

Ironically, they are models and a year ago I became a plus-size model. Even though they are teased about their height/weight all three of them have very strong self-esteem. They know they are intelligent and beautiful young ladies. I try very hard for them to have good self esteem and body images. Their agent is great, and like yourself, promotes a very positive, yet realistic, attitude. An odd side thought, its my daughters classmates and not the people they interact with in the industry that make the horrible comments.

I wish there were more women like you with the strength to stand up to the inappropriate and false expectations of what beauty is suppose to look like. Just because you are part of the fashion industry does not justify attacking your gorgeous physic. Personally I think you are more beautiful now.

Thank you again Trya, for being a great role model ( and thank your mother too for knowing how to raise such a wonderful daughter).

    Tyra,

I just want to say that I really enjoyed your confronation of the critics. I myself am not a "SKINNY" "PERFECT" person. I am 5'10 with heels 6'1' and weight about 190 currently. I don't think I am fat by any means but I have been called that many times! For all you girls that hear this know what I am talking about! My motto is "if you don't like it, don't look at it"!! I just want to say that you look GREAT! Screw what others say you are amazing!

    Posted by: Carrie | February 2, 2007 05:09 PM

    Tyra,
Gurl, you got guts. I am so proud of you for going up there and telling those brainless monkeys out there to kiss your fat ass (which by the way is not fat at all. I cannot express to you how much of an idol you are to me. I think you are one of the healthiest models I know. I hope you are feeling alright because you got a little emotinal but you had every right! To all the media in the world shame upon your selves for calling this wonderful woman fat. And, what does fat mean exactly? It is just a word. God created us in our own unique ways which makes us all beautiful and special people. And, to all those who call each other fat, Tyra was totally right about you. Tyra, way to go girl! I love you!=D

    Posted by: Priyanka | February 2, 2007 05:07 PM

    HEY MS. T,
WOW!!, WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE WORLD THESE DAYS, IT'S NOT EASY BEING NATURALLY BIG, FULL FIGURED, NATURALLY SLIM, SKINNY. YOU GET PICKED ON EITHER WAY. I'VE ALWAYS BEEN TALLER THAN ALL THE BOYS GROWING UP, AT 13YRS OLD I WAS 5'9 FEET TALL, AND I'M STILL THIS HEIGHT. BUT I'VE ALWAYS BEEN SKINNY, I'VE BEEN CALLED BLACK OLIVE OIL (FROM POPEYES), MOP BECAUSE I HAVE LONG FULL HAIR AND I'M SKINNY. GIRL EVERY THING YOU CAN THINK OF FOR TALL SKINNY GIRLS, I WAS CALLED IT. I'VE ALWAYS ATE ALOT AND NEVER GAIN WEIGHT WHICH I HATED. I WAS ONCE FRIENDS WITH A GIRL IN HIGH SCHOOL WHO IS FULL FIGURED. WE HAD TO ATTEND A AWARD CEREMONY AT A CATERED EVENT. WE ORDERED THE SAME DISH, AND WHEN OUR FOOD CAME, HER PLATE HAD MORE FOOD THAN MINE, AND SHE DOESN'T EAT ALOT, WE AUDIOMATICALLY SWITCHED PLATES. AFTER A WHILE SHE STARTED WITH THE YOU SKINNY GIRLS CAN FIT INTO ANYTHING, YOU ARE SO LUCKY, I'M LIKE NO WAY. MY PROBLEMS ARE THAT HAVE LONG ARMS, BROAD SHOULDERS, LONG LEG, BIG FEET, WIDE HIPS, AND I HAVE TO FIND CLOTHS THAT FIT RIGHT. LONG OR TALL PANTS, BUY A LARGE TOP EVEN THOUGH I'M SMALL ON TOP TO FIT MY LONG ARMS AND BROAD SHOULDERS. IT'S A NEVER ENDING THING WITH BODY IMAGE, BUT I LOVE MY BODY I KNOW WHAT WILL LOOK GOOD ON ME, WHAT SIZE AND CUT WILL FIT ME, WHAT COLORS FLATTERS ME ETC. NO ONE IS PERFECT, EVERYONE HAS FLAWS, SO I JUST IGNORE STUPID NEGATIVE PEOPLE NOW........LOVE YOUR BODY, LOVE YOURSELF AND PEOPLE WILL BE DRAWN TO YOU AND DON'T KNOW WHY. HEY!!

There is a reason for the word SUPERmodel. As far as I can tell you're the only one to date.

    Posted by: Bill | February 2, 2007 04:42 PM

    Hey Tyra:
I live in Montreal, I'm 29 years old. I didn't see the show, but I saw the photos and I read the comments and I have to tell you how proud I'm of you for being brave and have the courage to be yourself, to be a woman who is speaking for the rest of us and saying "STOP IT". You are still a Supermodel, not only because of your model career but because of all your courage, commitment and love to all women. Thank you.
    Love

    Hey Tyra!
I'm watching yesterday's episode now (I tivo all of them) and I just wanted to say thank you. I am kinda on the larger side. Not huge, but definitely not anywhere near the size 0 or 5 anything like the rest of the girls at my school are. Thank you so much for taking a stand for all of us who don't look like the super skinny models we see in the media. You are amazing and such an inspiration. I am so lucky to have a role model like you to look up to. I feel like, and I know this sounds ridiculous, that you were almost standing up for me personally. I just wanted to say thank you. Everywhere I go I hear negative things about people who are like me and aren't super skinny. It's really nice to finally have some encouragement. Thank you thank you thank you.

    Posted by: Lila | February 2, 2007 04:10 PM

    Tyra,
You are absolutely, positively my idol. I tell everyone that I'm going to meet you one day, and I actually got a detention for telling someone that during class. I'm 13, and I'm pretty tall, I'm almost 5'8...and I'm still growing. Everyone make fun of me because I'm 'too fat'. I am 123 lbs. Which, because of solw self esteem caused me to do some pretty bad stuff to my body..which i can't really stop now.

You are by no means, fat, or anywhere NEAR fat. So thank you for telling those stupid people to kiss you're ass.

I don't know what I'd do without you. Thanks.

You are the epitomy of sexy not those anorexic, boney models that some designers choose now. Women are supposed to have curves and girl you have them in all the right places! Keep fighting for us "regular" woman who are also beautiful, strong and sexy. I showed my girls the pictures of you and I hope your message spreads to others!

    Dear Tyra,
Thank you so much for telling off the fat critics. I have a 9 yr old daughter who is beautiful, but she is teased everyday because of her weight. She is a great student with a beautiful smile and personality as well as a great athlete, but kids are cruel and she is picked on everyday. I asked her to watch your statement with me and we both cried. I am so proud of her for being brave and facing it everyday- and I'm proud of you for saying what I wish my daughter could say. They should make your video part of the school curriculum. Then maybe our children would learn and accept that it is OK to be different.Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes girl- Remember we love you-
    Thanks again!

So is it just me that finds Tyra to be a bit of a hypocrite? Here she is getting all teared up about people calling her "FAT" ahen she has ANOTHER show that judges people all the time?

I don't buy it. This was almost as bad as that time she dressed up in a FAT SUIT. In that issue, the guys didn't wanna date not because you were fat. It was people you had ISSUEs. I mean c'mon...you came to the tabel and started accusing the guys about your weight, asked to meet their parents, asked about a 2nd date?!

Anyone who has dated knows that whether you are skinny, short, tall, fat, pretty or ugly...if you got ISSUEs its a no no. Get over it Tyra. You are in the public eye, get used to it.

    Tyra,
Thank you so much for standing up for REGULAR women. All of us who aren't a size 2. I just recently have had a baby and have been obsessing about my weight, but after watching your show you have inspired me to love what I have and to know I am beautiful. Thank you for having the courage to stand up against these ridiculous views on body image in the entertainment industry. I hope many follow your lead in saying REGULAR WOMEN ARE BEAUTIFUL.

    Tyra!
A tear crept from my eye for your "kiss my fat a*s!" moment on Thursday. I am a white girl, from England who has the same body type as you, 5"9 and about 163 lbs but I have a big booty which I was bullied for at school, called fat by many an uneducated man and told to cover by my mother who thought it vulgar even though I inherited it from her. Luckily I grew with confidence and now love my full and beautiful figure. Thank you for saying how I feel with passion and viguour. I salute you!

Me and my mom watched the show together and I really like it . That show is showing that you can't be that skinny . I'm fat and nobody calls me names because I'm nice to them and i get to know them. Well,I'm tring to say is that your setting eample to kids my age to love yourself and take care of your body .

    Thank you Tyra!!

As a mental health clinician who works with teens and struggles with her own weight I have long appreciated your show. At 38, I am 5'2 and am a fit and curvy 140 lbs. I have dated men who comment that I am attracrive but comment that they prefer more slender "petite" women. When I was 25, with much starving, I got my weight down to 120 lbs but could never keep it there. I love my body at this age and work hard to be healthy and happy. Keep up your beautiful style and message-you are not "plus" size. You are a perfect size. Congratulations on your show and your message. STRONG IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

Tya I am SOOOOOOO inspired by you. When this whole "fat" ordeal came out of no where. I was axnious to see what your action would be. I was worried that you would just fall in the the 100lb trend like everyone else in America. But you are fighting back! And that is why I can say you are truly an inspiration to me. Thank you so much for ALLLLLL you do!

    Hey Tyra,

I just want to say thank you so much for what you said about big women. I have felt so bad about my body all my life. It's hard to live with what people have to say about you. I never thought I was pretty. I have always been over weight and never could love myself. I was always made fun of in school and always thought everyone was looking at how big i was. Then I found my now boyfriend who told me I was pretty and not to worry about what I look like and what people think of me. That no matter what size I am he would love me. Since then I have learned to love myself and I have lost 45 lbs. and still want to lose more but that will come with time. I just think as long as you are healthy and happy with what you look like that is beautiful. So Thank You for taking up for all of the bigger women in the world. You are a great role model for all girls. No matter what anyone says Tyra you are beautiful and not fat.

    love alway

    Dear Tyra:

I just recently started watching your show. At first, I would change the channel, because I thought you show was all about models, and conceited girls. I thought that the show would be a bad influence on my daughter 14. But then,,,, I gave you show 1/2 hour and really enjoyed it, I see where you were coming from and the real nice person that you are. I really seem to be admiring you and am having my daughter watch your show with me. Also I really admired the way you did your February 1, 2007 show! Thank you being an inspiration for women and the young women of Today. God Bless You!!

    Tyra
I recorded your show yesterday and just got through watching it. I am a curvy girl at the age of 18 and have grown up my WHOLE life with insecurities. Not one day goes by that I am uneffected by the media and tabloids constantly focusing on being needle thin. I have made huge efforts over the last few years to focus on the beauty of curves, but it has been extremely difficult. Your show yesterday hit center for me. I have always looked up to you and I always watch your show. However, I think that what you did yesterday and the stand you took will have a huge effect on women and girls nationwide. I was deeply moved by what you said and I felt like finally someone knew how it felt to constantly criticize their own bodies. Thank you so much. You are a beautiful, wonderful person. You have done such a bold and brave thing. It really moved me to tears. Once again, thank you so very much. It really has helped me already look at myself differently.

WOW you are so great. I get sick to see all of the rail thin woman on the run way real woman do not look like that! Men don't want a girl with her bones sticking out. All I can say is "YOU ROCK" for standing up for those of us that are not pencil thin. I'm 5'4" and weigh 165 lbs. No, I'm not obese, but I'm definately not model thin and after what you said on your show..."I don't WANT to be!" I finally felt proud to be who I am. I pity those women that are killing themselves to be thin and especially the model who was so defensive about her ultra skinny lifestyle. Of course, she can feel proud to be ultra skinny, but I'll stick with being happy, HEALTHY, and with a little meat on these bones, thank you very much!

I was SO proud of you for all that you said and especially for my 14 year old to see it with me. We had lots to talk about after your show and I thank you for opening up that diaologue for us. She really likes your shows, values, and you inspire not only young girls but women of ALL ages!

I have watched this video everyday for inspiration. Tyra you are a life saver and I thank you for empowering young women like myself every where. Thank you.

    Hey Tyra,

I have one thing to say to you. No matter what size you are, you are beautiful.
To everyone else who doesn't like Tyra for who she is. Get a life. You're all jealous because she is a strong, pretty woman who is not ashamed of herself.

I love you, Tyra, no matter what.

    Dear Tyra,

First of all, I wanted to thank you for doing the show yesterday. I don't remember the last time I cried like that, from inspiration. You truly are an amazing person Tyra. I have always been a fan of you because you ARE real, in your beauty, and your personality. I have looked up to you for more years than I can even begin to count of my life, and I'm 19 years old. I watch your show on a daily basis, and, as bad as it sounds... if class is running late, I find a way out, so I don't miss the show! Yesterday's show, although a very hard topic, was amazing!
One thing from the show that really stuck out for me, and was really the most important thing to me, was when Jessica pointed out that not all people with eating disorders look like Yael, or Lori. I think it is really important that everybody knows, eating disorders DO affect both guys and girls alike, but that does not mean that they have to look like a skeleton. This part of the show is what touched me the most, as I have suffered with EDNOS for almost 4 years, however, I do not look anything like Yael or Lori. It is because I do not look like them that people do not see what I go through, along with everyone else who does not fit the stereotypical look of having an eating disorder. But I wanted to thank you because yesterday's show really hit home for me, as well as one of my roommates, and I'm sure with many other people. What was said yesterday needed to be said, but nobody has been strong enough to tackle it in the past, like you did yesterday. So thank you again!

    Love, Dani

I watched criticism of Tyra last week and was stunned. I was astonished that the picture shown of Tyra was considered "FAT." I thought Tyra looked beautiful and curvy - not fat at all. I have never seen this show, but did watch yesterday's show. I was completely inspired and proud of Tyra for her courage and honesty. I have a 10 year old daughter and I consider Tyra to be an excellent role model for her. For my daughter to be brainwashed and think that Tyra looked fat really bothered me. I watched the show with my 10 year old and cheered Tyra on. Tyra's repsonse was perfect and I felt grateful that my daughter could hear a strong, beautiful, and courageous woman speak up. Most American women are not super thin, most of us have a little extra baggage that we don't want, but that's just how life is. I was very thin all my life. At 32, after 2 kids, I weigh 135 pounds and have never weighed that much - except at the end of my pregnancies. I was starting to get a complex about my weight - but after seeing Tyra's show - I'm proud of my body and the way I look, and that is also the message I want to send to both of my daughters. Good for you Tyra! You just gained a life long fan. You are a true role model and should be so very proud of yourself.
    Blessings to you!

THAT WAS GREAT, AND I WISH I CAN GO DEEPER THAN THAT, BUT WORDS CAN'T EXPLAIN WHAT THAT MEANS TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN PICKED ON, PUT DOWN, AND PICKED APART BY PEOPLE WHO FEEL THEY ARE FLAWLESS. NO ONE IS FLAWLESS. NOT ONE PERSON IS PERFECT WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT AND THAT IS WHAT MAKES US THE PEOPLE WE ARE. AND BY YOU STANDING UP AND SAYING WHAT YOU SAID DEFENDING YOURSELF WAS GREAT. Dear Tyra,
never in my life have i know anyone to have enough courage and strength to say what you said on national television especially when it involves them. I dont have cable so i couldnt watch your show but when i found out that i could see what you had to say on your website i rushed to my computer right away!!! I am a very tiny girl i am only 17 but in the last couple months i have people still saying that i am fat and only because of one reason i am pregnant, the only thing on my body that is bigger then before is my belly because there is a child in there and when people i know say that i am fat it hits me a lot , even though i know it is just because i have a child in me, but i stil have family members that are a criticized because other people see them as fat. In my eyes everyone is beautiful and should not be put down like that in any way. I am totally against that. The things that people say to other people can affect them in a way that they cant even imagine. So many people i know have been criticized about the way they look and the people that are being criticized immedietly go and try and find a way to fix themselves when there isnt even anything to fix. i frustrates me so much. I just wanted to say that you have guts and you are one of the many people i look up to.

    Hey Tyra,

I just finished watching todays show with LL Cool J and the knew girl group, Danity Kane. I remebered that i didn't get to see the show where you confront your critics, so i decided to see if you had a short clip of it on the site, and you did.
I watched it and felt the heat rising as you were speaking with great emotion, and when your words started to crack i burst into to tears just out of no where, and over such a small clip. I have had problems with my weight for quit a few years now and my mother and step dad have been really cruel towards me because of it. Im a busty girl so that has alot to do with why i appear to look heavier than i do.
I really appreciate and take what you said to heart. I used to have a problem with bulimia and after my grandpa died of cancer i learned to appreciate my body more.

    Thanks so much.
I hope some day i will get the chance to thank you in person. You are a true inspiration.

    Hey Tyra,
I would like to thank you for your show yesterday! When I¡¯m looking in the magazines and see all those girls who are supper skinny, some of my friends say, I wish I could look like that! Not me, when i turn to a picture of you I say wow that is a real body and I think that is beautiful. I knew this girl that was 16. She was 75 pounds and thought she was fat! She had Anorexia, and she had it bad. She was just going to let her self fade away. I was so scared for her. She had to get hand cuffed and taken to the hospital by the police because she refused to go! Only the hand cuffs didn¡¯t fit on her wrists. They kept on slipping off! They took her to the hospital and put tubes down her throat. I hope that maybe some of the girls watching your show yesterday realized that they are not fat! And it might have helped them. So thank you!

    Heyy Tyra,

Well I was watching your show 2 days ago about you confronting the tabloids. First thing you are NOT FAT!You are 5'10 and weight 161 pounds and it looks perfectly natural. The media these days are soo obsessed with celeb's losing and gaining weight. Don't let the nasty tabloids get to you! You are such a strong person and intelligent. It took guts to come out on national television and talk to everyone what people were saying about you that you were fat.I cried at the end when you said "KISS MY FAT ASS". I could tell it really hurt you, and people in the audience were very emoctional. If I was there I probablu would have balled my eyes out for you.OK.. I don't know why they called you fat because it isn't true at all.You said on the show the photographers want to take the picture at an angle where you look the worst. Its true my sister models and you have to fave the right direction so you don't look bad. But you know what I think???? You are such a beautiful person in the inside and out. It only matters in the inside. You are my insperation. I look up to you so much. I saw you on the Larry King Live Show, Good Morning America, and Extra. When Larry was on I was like OMG it's Tyra! I tryed to call but I diddn't get through.. Oh well.. You know on google how you searched "Tyra fat" ??? Well I tryed to write something on most of the blogs something about you to tell people not to say things about you , and stand up with you.Hopefully this will help people understand better the tabloids, that they are mostly never true and always end up hurting someone. I will try to post more things on the blogs to help you. I will always be one of your biggest fans.. Much Love xoxo

    Tyra,
Thank you so much for this episode. You are such a wonderful role model for all women and that is so needed in our society right now. I am lucky to have grown up with a mother who holds strong and healthy views like you do and while, like women everwhere, I am unhappy with my body sometimes, I work hard to love myself as I am. I wish more girls and women could try and do the same. I don't buy magazines because I don't like supporting that image and I don't like how they make me feel. I have very strong views about the standard to which we are holding women to today. I have never been moved to write to anyone because of their positive influence until I saw you yesterday. You moved me to tears. I think you touched hearts everywhere yesterday with your strength and authenticity. From showing the cellulite on your legs to appearing without makeup on national television, you are showing everyone that flaws are ok, even on a supermodel, and that women can love themselves despite their own flaws. We need more people like you.

    Dear Tyra,

I applaude you for standing up to the critics and for the message you are sending. Much too often society makes you feel unattractive and ugly if you're anything but stick skinny! I am in my early 40's and have struggled with my weight since my early 30's; anywhere from a size 14, 12 or 10. I certainly feel much better at a size 10 but I do not want to be made to feel ugly and unattractive if I'm a size 14. I do agree if being overweight effects a persons well being that measures should be taken to live a healthier life.
You are an inspiration and I thank you for speaking out for those of us who do not have the platform to do so.

It's about time that someone took the initiative to blow off those stupid tabloid reporters. I don't agree with Lynn, who wrote that Tyra should have been more patient/diplomatic with her critics. For one thing, she's not proving anything to anyone because obviously Tyra is very happy with the way she looks (and so are we!) and isn't trying to go on Jenny Craig in order to lose weight (unlike Kirstie Alley, who most likely did it for PR reasons). Second of all, when tabloids start attacking you out of nowhere and for NO reason, it's only right to stand up for yourself and to shut them up. And that's exactly what Tyra did and I really commend her on the way she handled the situation. Tyra, you're an exceptionally beautiful woman, but most importantly you're a compassionate and kind human being. Unlike many of the shallow people in the entertainment industry, you stick to what you believe and are always willing to help those in need. I think you're gorgeous at any weight, because your humane and thoughtful actions speak louder than your words and looks. You said what you had to say and thanks for showing other women in our society that they should stand up for themselves, if they are being unfairly scrutinized. Women with curves are BEAUTIFUL and this is why I got into bellydancing...because I love the way my curvy body moves when I am dancing. And to all women who would like to tone up their bodies and live a healthy lifestyle - definitely get into bellydancing! It's not like any workout out there...and most of all, it's always fun to do! It's one thing to be healthy and another to be anorexic or overweight. And Tyra, you're looking very healthy and screw everyone who has anything negative to say about you. They're only jealous because you're stunning, successful, talented and extremely intelligent. Always hold your head up high and don't ever cry about the stupid things that those imbeciles say...they're so not worth your tears!

All the best to you with your show and all your future endeavors,

    Lily

    Dear Tyra,

My name is Ashley and I am 16 years old. I usually try to watch your show everyday, but sometimes it doesn¡¯t happen.

I just wanted to let you know that I think you are an inspiration to all of us. You are gorgeous, smart, funny, and truthful in what you say.

I can't say how thankful I am for you confronting the media about yourself. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for you to do that. You are probably the bravest women I¡®ve seen.

I attend high school, at a very good school, but its tough to make friends if you aren't like them. If you aren't pretty enough, or as athletic, or even just as talented as them. By you putting on that bathing suit once again and saying what you did, has made me realize, that it's ok to be who I am, and that it is ok, to not look like every other skinny girl in world these days.

Thanks to you, you have made me smile for that statement to the media, and I know that you truly meant every word you said. You have changed they way I look at things and told me that its ok to do what I want and be who I want to be.

Thank you so much for being such an inspiration to so many women, young and old. I¡¯d like to give you an even bigger thanks, since you are truly one of the greatest role models someone could ever have. I love you!

    Love Always,
    Ashley

    Dear Tyra,
    I am 29-
As a young mother of four, it has been hard to keep young looking/trendy and maintain just being a mom. When I think of trendy, I do think of a skinny person. I feel that a way to keep with trendy styles and wear items considered "trendy" it would look better if I too were skinny. I buy the magazines more than 2 a week...wanting to be THAT LOOK. I am only hurting myself more by doing this. With age and feeling more "at home" with myself, my thoughts are changing. With more tv bringing out curvy girls/women it feels better. What I have gained from your show, is this. Look the best you can, feel the

NFL Game Summary - Indianapolis Vs. Chicago
    Sunday. 2.4.07 10:16 pm
Miami, FL -- (Sports Network) - Peyton Manning finally has his championship.

Manning threw for 247 yards and a touchdown, as the Colts rallied from the shock of an opening 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Devin Hester and an early eight-point deficit to beat the Chicago Bears, 29-17, in a turnover- laden Super Bowl XLI.

The teams combined for eight turnovers, five from the Bears, including a 56- yard interception return for a touchdown from Indianapolis' Kelvin Hayden in the fourth quarter.

Both teams had trouble with the wet conditions after a persistent rain leveled Dolphin Stadium, but the Colts kept afoot late with a pair of interceptions in the final quarter.

Manning, who completed his ninth season in the NFL, helped the Colts (16-4) to their first title since Super Bowl V, following the 1970 season, when the team was in Baltimore. Manning connected on 25-of-38 passes and was also picked off once.

Dominic Rhodes rushed 21 times for 113 yards and a TD for the Colts, who also got 77 yards on the ground from Joseph Addai.

Rex Grossman was limited to 20-of-28 passing for 165 yards with a TD and two interceptions for the Bears (15-4), who were outgained 430-265. Chicago's offense wasn't on the field enough, as the Colts held the ball for more than 38 minutes.

Thomas Jones had 15 carries for 112 yards for Chicago.

Despite the lopsided stats, the Bears were only behind 22-17 going into the fourth quarter, but Grossman was picked off by Hayden, who stepped in front of Muhsin Muhammad. Hayden, in the game after Nick Harper hurt his ankle in the first half, barely came down in bounds near the left sideline before racing to the end zone with 11:44 left.

The Bears challenged the play, but the call stood.

Four offensive plays later, Grossman was picked off by Bob Sanders.

Later in the quarter, the Bears failed on a fourth down pass and by the time they got the ball back for the last time there was 1:42 left. The Bears got past midfield on the game's final pass, but by that time Colts head coach Tony Dungy was being given a shower from a water cooler from his players.

Dungy is the first African-American coach to win the Super Bowl, as he faced former pupil and Bears coach Lovie Smith.

The Bears were trying for their second Super Bowl win in franchise history. The 1985 edition of the "Monsters of the Midway" followed a 15-1 regular season with a three-game romp through the playoffs, but this year's version couldn't muster much offensively in the big game.

Adam Vinatieri, who attained his fourth Super Bowl ring, kicked three field goals. He missed a fourth attempt, a 36-yarder at the end of the half.

Mary J. Blige Provides A "Breakthrough" For the Peeps At Vibe! Jennifer Hudson Debuts on Essence
    Friday. 2.2.07 6:36 pm
We all recall Mary J. Blige's public expression of disgust about her previous Vibe cover in December 2005. It was during the Vibe Awards that our girl from Yonkers kept it real while on stage receiving the magazine's coveted VLegend Award.

Since Mary is all renewed and enlightened, and Mimikins is no longer spinning webs over @ 215, Mary happily graces the cover of Vibe's "150th Collector's Edition Issue."

Thank God they got rid of that bubbly font! But they went overboard on the cover lines.

    GOOD LOOK ALL AROUND!

Mary and her eight Grammy nominations will help move this issue on the newsstands.

Kudos to Vibe for getting it right. Those last few covers have been less than delicious... but this shit makes my mouth water.

Heard about it here, copped the image from here. Shout out to the Loop!

And speaking of magazine covers... don't sleep on Jennifer Hudson's Essence cover.
