Titles are Hard!
Tuesday. 5.25.04 6:07 pm
It's getting excessively harder and harder to think of decent ways of titling these things.

Anyway, today was rather good. Got up late, more on choice this time, and headed to school. It was ok, except we had a full bus and one guy had to open his window fully in the morn, causing a draft of air to rush over me the whole time I was trying to sleep... Well, I got to school, and ran into Chris. Well, actually, he poked me, but all the same, I drug him down to the video editing lab for a bit, where we heard JL rant and vacuum until Chris had to leave. I got a bit done on my editing, but I was restless today, so I really didn't do much.

Well, in programming, I had told my partner to work on the last program of the lesson, since I figured he should do some programming. Well, as I start to pull up a program of my own to tinker with, we are called into our teacher's office. Well, he starts asking if we knew what plagiarism was, as well as asking if either of us were in NHS (National Honor Society). Well, I was going 'Oh shit.... he's gonna call me and Jay working with each other plagiarism, ands I’m gonna get in trouble and kicked form NHS'. Well, he was pulling our leg, and gave us some good news, but I'll tell that on a later date. Well, soon my friend get called to leave on a field trip, so I was gonna start the program for him, but I had no drive to, so for the next two periods, I read a book and studied for my genetics test.

The genetics test wasn't too bad, especially since he told us EXACTLY what questions were on the test like, 5 mins before, so everyone look them over and took it. I only skipped two (we could have skipped up to 3) because I purely blanked on them. But we learned that our exam may just be interpreting some information. That will be nice.

In poker, I did win a hand, and I'm only down to 25 after starting with 50 today, so I am happy. Now I feel sick from the heat of the bus. That's it. See ya.

School...
Monday. 5.24.04 5:34 pm
Gah, if it were only over...

In history, we had a test. Normally, my teacher does a few matching, a few multiple choice, and a few short answer, as well as an optional bonus essay. Well, today, he decided to do maps of some WWII battle and ask about commanders, troops and such. Well, I was not expecting it. I fared well on the map of The Battle of the Bulge, only missing the part of the question asking about the theater commander, but I did horrible on the side with the pacific... the sad thing is, I has halfway gotten it right, then messed it up! At least I got the dates ok... I don't wanna see that one.

We had an annoying sub in English today. For you ARGSians out there, we got Dempsey... It wasn't too fun, but I lived.

In math, I got my math test back. 82... kinda annoying since I got one question right on the last part, but botched some easy questions. Ah well. I also slept in class. The lesson was easy.

And German... I am glad its my last year. I love the teacher and class to death, but those damn book tests... No one ever really does too well on those tests anyhow, so its not that bad.

I lost all my money in poker too, in the first hand, so I stopped for the day, against the protests of the other bus players, and sat back to read a book I had been working on called Stravaganza: City of Masks. I had gotten it from my school's book fair, and my god, it is amazing. Here's the basic plot. This boy from modern day England, Lucien, is sick from cancer, and very tired from chemo. This father gives him this Italian journal to write in, but as Lucien falls asleep wit the journal in his hands, he is transported to 16th century Italy, and finds he can travel between his time and this stage of Italy. I don't want to say and more, because the plot is incredible. I HIGHLY suggest it. It’s the first in a series of 3 books. I hope I can find the next two once I finish this one.

Now, I have to wait for my dinner to finish and head to the soccer finals. Wish ARGS luck! See ya!

Weekend
Sunday. 5.23.04 10:33 pm
For those of you who didn't know, which shouldn't be too many, I spent the weekend at my friend Twyla's house. It was fun. Friday we went to the ARGS talent show and saw some good (and no so good) acts, some highlights being a mime act, a dance performance, and some standup. Saturday me, Twyla, Chris, Scoot and Jessica all played tennis, well, as much as we could before the heat killed us, and me and Jess burned things with a magnifying glass. It was fun, even though I got lost getting there and getting home. That night we hit the ARGS jazz band concert and that was very good, but warm. And I returned home today, whee. Much fun ensued, and I was glad to have been there for it.

Another thing I feel like getting off my chest.. I have many admirers, any of which I would date in a heart beat, and the number of these fellas only seems to grow... I guess it’s not overly a bad thing, but it is a tad frustrating, because I would enjoy choosing one, but I would feel bad for disappointing the rest. That and my parents would go ape shit again since most I know primarily by internet. Heh, perhaps I am just too nice.. ah well.

Ah and I took a quiz.. here's my results...

Take the quiz: "Which Random Irish Gaelic Phrase Are You? "

Is maith liom bananai
Is maith liom bananai - 'I like bananas.’ You’re laid-back and you enjoy the simple things in life. Some might say you're a little too laid-back. Just what is it you're smoking, anyway?

I think it fits. What do you think? See ya.

Whatta game!
Friday. 5.21.04 5:50 am
Wow, the district semi-final was great last night... but other things first.

Well, yesterday morning, some guy from Franklin found me on the bus and was telling me about some, thing, they were having about students going to my school. Well, I decided to go, despite the fact it was around the same time as the soccer game. Well, I head out to go to it, and realize, he never really told me where it was being held. Wasn't at the high school, and since I had no idea where else they would have the meeting, I just headed for the soccer game.

On the way their, I drove behind a girl using BOTH HANDS to groom her hair WHILE DRIVING ALONE. *shakes head and moves on*

I arrive at the soccer field just as they finish calling player name, and sit down as they officially start. It was an amazing game. ARGS was up 1-0 most of the game, until Franklin managed a goal on them. Well, this year, Franklin always acts like dumb arses when they win, so the have a random victory pile.. for one goal... that puts them in a tie... *shakes head, again* Makes me glad Franklin isn't my birthplace. Well, we end up going into two 5 minute regular over times, no scores, then two 5 min sudden death over times... no goals. So now we get to PKs.

Our first 4 players make theirs, but once the 3 Franklin player kick, he kicks it over the goal. Another random dumb thing Franklin does, the fall forward on the ground, and die. It's again, dumb. Well, our last got is barely blocked by Franklins goalie, so now we are in sudden death PKs. Well, our first to make goals, again and our goalie caught Franklin's second kick! Now all we have to do is hit once more and we win. Westley walks up, and nails it in! It was great. Even funnier was walking down to congratulate the team, I hear some Franklin ladies commenting. "They have the worst sportsmanship ever." And I'm guessing they meant our team, since I doubt they would diss their own team. What? We have bad sportsmanship is we cheer for our team and amp them up? Heh, we did an awesome job of that at one point, I think we were going into one of the over times, and all of the ARGS people in the stands start stomping and chanting for them and the player's loved it. I can't wait for the finals on Monday. Should be interesting.

And now, one day of school left between me and a weekend of fun at Twys! ^^ W00t! See ya!

BUS PARTY!
Thursday. 5.20.04 6:46 pm
Wow, today was really good. Got up, late as usual, but my mom made me a tuna fish on toast sandwich for breakfast, yummie. So I get on the bus and me and my friend were like. "Whee! Bus party this afternoon!" I had cookies, she had cupcakes and chips, another girl had Combos and water, and Jeff, who got sick, had left a 6 pack of Mountain Dew.

So we get to school and the perishables get put inside the school as I head to film. That went well. My teacher looked at a bit of my progress and was impressed at how I was doing so far. And after he left, I did a great edit. I'm editing my school's rendition of "Our Town". Now, in one scene, a girl is yelling from off screen to her mother, on screen. So what I do it when her mother is speaking, I use a closer shot of her, but while the daughter speaks, I use the master shot, or the shot that shows the whole stage. And it came out well, after several attempts.

Programming was ok. I got my dice game done, and started on a new program, which was finished in the following period. Well, the first program I meant to do I couldn't, since I wasn't able to figure out the math, and my programming teacher was sick the first half of the day, but he soon was back in. So I did the next one, which went well.

Genetics was good too. We went over the last bit of the chapter and review sheets, as well as hearing our teacher's tangent on teaching 2nd graders... very interesting. And tomorrow, most of the seniors are heading to King's Dominion for Math & Science day, so there will be only like, 3 people in class so we get a private review for the test on Tuesday.

Hehe, the bus party was great. We ate junk food and played poker. I ALMOST won TWICE! Once I lost on a 2 pair to a 3 of a kind and the other time me and the other guy had identical straights, but he had the highest other cards. It sucked sooo bad. But it's all fun.

Home was mildly irritating, with my mom making me change shirts and my sis asking silly questions, but all is good. Next is a trip to Franklin High to see a short assembly about the my school, and then to ARGS's district soccer semi-final. Should be fun.

See ya.

15 days!
Wednesday. 5.19.04 3:10 pm
*points up* The number of days left in school for me. Well, minus weekends, and I miss the Friday before Senior exams, with any luck, for a field trip. w00t.

Today was good. Again, I got up late, but my mom made sausage and biscuits for breakfast. Yummie. And I slept on the bus, like the whole way. What was even funnier... apparently, one of the freshman decided to bring a half gal of milk for some cereal. Don't ask, I DON'T know. Well, taking a turn getting towards school the half gal falls off of the ground (well, actually, the other freshman's base case) and onto the floor, promptly opening and spilling it's contents onto anther sleeping person's back pack and the floor. So that was funny.

We had our debate today in history. Well, of course, half of my group are no shows, so me, the editor (thankfully also the main researcher) and James (the group speaker) are the only ones for our group. Well, James goes up to make his point, and starts reading the fact clean from the sheet. I was cursing at myself for not telling him to use the fact to back our point (that we should not have used A-Bombs on Japan). But after that minor foul, we did alright. In fact, we debated twice, and I enjoyed it. Then, since we had nothing else to do, our teacher put on a movie called "The Longest Day". Now, I'm watching t he beginning part, and this German General is talking (in German) about how the Allied forces will just die on the beach (he was over laid on to the beach). Well, as I watch, he suddenly pops off screen, and keeps talking. He soon pops back on. It was rather amusing to watch the bad editing. That and the general say. "Es werde der langsten tages... der langsten tages" (It will be the longest day, the longest day) and then the title, in big letters pops up and this dramatic music suddenly starts playing. Everyone was laughing. It was so funny.

In English, we watched Grease. Not much to say there.

In pre-cal, I did a test. It wasn’t bad, up until the last part. I had NO idea how to do it. I know now, but for those who are bored, here are the questions...

8. Find the exact value with out a calculator

a. sin(40°) + 1 / csc (50°)

b. 3 tan(75°) * sec(75°) * cos(75°)

c. 8 sin(pi/2) + csc(80°) - tan(80°)

But I should get around 80 or more. It’s ok. I have a 98 in that class.

In German, our test was postponed another day, so I just gotta study for that.

Now I look forward to poker on the bus, making cookies for the bus party, class tomorrow (since they are my fun classes), and the actual bus party.

Oh! I almost forgot... my interim. Well, they were supposed to be handed out yesterday, but my normal homeroom teacher was gone. So I try to find her sub, to no avail. So I decide I'll just get it today. The first thing I do is go into school and ask my guidance counselor about how to get a copy and she was like "Who's your homeroom teacher?" in a not very nice sounding voice. And after I tell her she's like "Go check with her." Well, I go there, and she doesn't have it, as I had imagined. So after lunch, I go up and ask for a print out, or to just see my grades. Well, she asks the same question again, in the same way, and I tell her that I already checked there. So she finally printed one out for me, but she didn't seem so nice about it... I hate guidance...

Well, sorry for boring you with my ramblings. See ya.
