Dessert Kits Suck.
Sunday. 12.5.04 5:45 pm
I'm sure you all are like, "WTF is a dessert kit?" or "My god, she's posting again!" One of the two. Anyway, a dessert kit is one of those 'handy' and 'easy to make' box kits filled with most of the ingredients to make some random dessert. My mom go one for something called 'Peanut Butter Passion'. It looks nice, this three layered, marble topped peanutbutter and chocolate dessert. On the box, that is. Mine... well... the top doesn't look so good, but the rest should be alright.

The first step was to mix what looked like a graham cracker type substance with some oil and water and press the resulting stuff into a 8 X 8 pan. That wasn't too bad, the pressing was kind of annoying, cause the mixtue (which ends up smelling like peanut butter, BTW) was sticking to my hands as I mixed it. So I pop this in the oven for about 13 mins. Totally unrelated, but I spent the 13 minutes trimming Lucifer's claws. She too old and lazy to scratch,s o her claws are starting to grow down to har pads. She was rewarded for her (relativley) good behavior (she only tried to bite me one, and only cried alot near the end) with some kitty treats and a dish of Half and Half.

Anyway, soon this crazy mix is done, so I pull it out and go to the next step. Making some chocolate stuff. What needs to be done is to heat the contents of a can of condensed milk, a bag of chocolate chips, and some butter for 1 minute on med-high (wtf?) and stir and do some other stuff. Well, I had to fight the damned can of condensed milk to get it open, of course droppping the can lid into the milk. Icky. I get it all into a bowl. Next i dump in the chips, then the butter. Might I note, I'm using a cereal type bowl, so it;s pretty full now. So I toss it into the microwave, set 1 min, and the power to 6 (med-high?) and turn it on. I watch, and around :25 min, the milk starts ot bubble. Alot. I didn't like it. "Maybe it needs to be stirred." I thought. So I opened the microwave and grabbed the bowl quick and pulled it out.

Here are 2 things I reget doing. 1. Not using a larger bowl. 2. grabbing a cereal bowl filled with probably boiling condensed milk, chocolate and butter out of the microwave quickly. Some of this mixture sloshed out onto the floor, counter, and yes, my arm and hand. My responce: "AHHHHH! HOT!" *puts bowl down quick, hold up hand, covered in hot milk and melted chocolate chips* "BURNING! HOT! AHHH!!" *shoves hand and arm under water in the sink* So, I mildly burnt my hand and arm ( and got shit all over the place. It hurt. It still kinda hurts. BUt stirring it then was no help. I put it all back in the microwave, finished the heating then stirred it until it smoothed out, and put some on the stuff I made and put it back in the oven for a bit.

Mixing peanut butter with stuff is not fun. Mixing peanut butter with confectioner's sugar is downright messy. Anyway, after the chcolate thing, not much else was bad, just annoying. Like trying to marble some extra chocolate mix with the slightly melted peanut butter/sugar mix. That looks like crap. Just imagine mixing some melted chocolate with peanut butter. That's what the top of this thing looks like. But it should taste good. It better. I got burnt.

Anyway, that's it from me for now.

It's been HOW long??!?!?
Thursday. 12.2.04 10:56 pm
Yeah, I know, it's been ages since I have posted here, but I am back... for now at least.

Schools been rather good. Last 9 weeks I had all ands and one B+, due to ONE frigging F on a quiz in Physics... ah well. I still got a reward for it... my nifty Tex RedVsBkue shirt. It's quite comfy. Workwise, school hasn't been that bad either. Usually, i can ge my work done in class, so I haven't had much homework. Yey!

My programming is also talking off. Right now I am in the middle of one project and I';m about to start another. Crazy stuff. Project one involves displaying numbers of a base 25 number system that use nifty looking symbols. (http://members.cox.net/srikandi/Uru/album/albumNum.htm) So far, I have all of the numbers "drawn" in OpenGL. I just need to start adding more stuff, like numbers higher than 24 and being able to choose another number to view. It'll take time. The project I will start soon with be a little program that will do some equations that my mom uses at work, so she can do that quicker. That one shouldn't be too hard. But now that I said that, watch it be a pain in the ass.

Hrm... not much else to say.. kinda sleepy. Maybe I'll post again soon.

Maybe.

W-Where am I?
Wednesday. 9.22.04 12:57 pm
listening to: Hard Trance from Europe: Disk 1
mood: Idlish
Wow, what is this strange new thing?

Yeah, it's been a good while, hasn't it?

Not much has been going on. School is rolling pretty smoothly now. Currently, I am very pleased with my lack of work, but I am sure that will change tomorrow. Need to finish reading Beowulf, and re write my essay... eventually.

I also got into a new fantasy series, since I don't have any more Xanth books around to read, and me nor my parents want to buy the next books at this moment. This one is the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. This is the first thing I have read by him, truthfully. I haven't read any of this other numerous works, since I'm not a fan of the horror genre at all, but this one is really good. I am in awe at his skills as a writer. Now if I could only write like that, but alas, perfection in any singe area is not for me, seemingly... I can get good, but not great in most cases... Ah well, Jack of all Trades works as well.

Has anyone else heard of stuff like this.... apparently, it's become common for people to piss in the middle of dressing rooms. I heard about this while bra shopping Sunday. My mom was talking to a worker as me and my sis changed, saying how they shut down a few of their other dressing rooms, since shoplifting and PISSING ON THE FLOORS was getting out of hand. As I heard, they would piss on things they tried on and didn't like... What in the hell is wrong with these people?

Hrm... what else...

Ah yes... the new bus driver. Well, our old bus driver, Mr. Scott, wasn't coming back this year.. I can't recall if he quit, or was not rehired, but we were sad that he was going, since, to a point, he let us do what ever the hell we wanted. But now we have a new one, some lady, and is she a bitch...

If you didn't already know, I have a 1.5 hour long bus ride to school and (currently) 2 hours bus ride back home. This lady will not let us move at all while t he bus is moving(which I can understand, but if we just want to move to another seat to sit next to someone, or even stand a bit to stretch our legs while the bus is moving... I don't see a problem unless the person is literally bus aisle surfing), set our stuff in the aisles (which I can understand to a point, but this is a 8 seat bus with 10 people, so, it gets crowded), and was almost seeming to want to not let us eat. She also takes a longer route. While it causes one girl to get home a bit earlier, Me, Matt and Annalise, Brock and Steven, and the freshman Robert all get home 10, 15, 20 minutes later. We did get her to take the quicker route Friday, and me and Matt both got back earlier, but she didn't believe us when we said that we did, and went the long way again the next time. She also has a bit of a bad attitude at times. My mom said she would probably call about it next time she goes the long way. Yeah, I know, this complaining seems pointless, but oh well, I can complain, you just don't have to pay it any mind unless you want to.

Well, that's it. Who knows if I'll post more often. Probably not... anyway, see ya!

EDIT: Almost lost this.. good thing I spell checked in Microsoft Word.

I didn't know that...
Tuesday. 9.7.04 11:31 am
This is the first time I've looked at this lay out under IE, and I just noticed how everything on the page is half transparent... I guess it looks alright... Damn them and their IE preferneces...

Well, I am at school, again. Not much to say. Got highly confused. Since most of the people reading this have gone to ARGS, you know how when we start on Tuesday, we normally have a Tuesday day, yes? Not now. Now we have home room, then all 8 classes... for the only time during the year. Its stupid, since I had NOTHING for my first four classes. (Admittedly, I really didnt need anything..)

So far my classes are good. I have Film 2, and I get to keep on editing "Our Town".. yech. My new history teacher rocks and I have 2 tech classes in a row. I gotta go soon, so Ill add more later.

See ya.

Vacation and Work!
Saturday. 8.28.04 2:06 pm
Err, Yeah. Tomorrow morning, I will be on my way, FINALLY, to Myrtle Beach for vacation. I have been waiting fort he past 2 weeks to get to go. It'll be nice to get out of the house, and be able to be at a pool and not responsible for the people swimming in it.

On that note, I am looking for a new job. My initial hopes were Movie Gallery or the local theater. Movie Gallery is still possible, but since I never ran into a manager when getting or returning my application, I have no clue if they are looking for workers. So I also applied to Winn Dixie, and the 2 local Food Lions, one still being built. I also had to hand in a note will all of my applications, noting that the week after I turned in my applications, I would be out of town, and that I can’t work on Saturday to and through November, since, with any luck, the library will have need for me to volunteer that day. And if they don't, Ill have to try for the animal shelters again, or risk not getting the hours I need to graduate. All the same, I'm sure I can pull it off. Just mildly annoying that every time I try to get something handled in person, whoever I need to see is not there...

Anyway, vacation = good. Even with the threat or rain in the early week with Gaston.

Heh, I also remembered something amusing, but annoying at the time, times from the Olympics... Well, actually a few things... but all the same...

Well, the first one was with my dad... I don't remember what I was doing at the time. Probably a work application. Anyway, a match for Field Hockey was on... one of the medal matches. Well, neither my dad nor I know anything about the rules or penalties. But apparently the announcers either didn't know that not every one knows field hockey like the back of their hand, or just didn't know anything themselves, because they didn't explain ANYTHING that was going on. He was like "Why did they get the ball back? What the HELL is a green card?!?" He eventually looked up field hockey rules. And for anyone who didn't know, a green card is a mild warning, I guess...

The next one was last night, or sometime in an evening. It was the Women's 3M Springboard diving... prelims... I think. But if you see any diving, or at least any women's diving, there is this ANNOYING female announcer. For one, she keeps going on about the mistakes in peoples dives, but the topper of this evening is this little bit of info on this one Russian ( I think) diver, that she must have wanted us to know. "Her coach calls her Boo-boo" "... you know, her coach likes to call her Boo-boo." I mean, it was like, the only thing she could think about for this diver. Drove me and my parents NUTS. As soon as my parents left, even though I love watching diving, I turned it off. I didn't want to hear about "Boo-boo" again.

Anyway, that's about it. Who knows, perhaps Ill post more once school starts... we shall see... See ya!
