Play Ball!
Sunday. 5.30.04 10:55 am
Yep, I went to a baseball game last night. It was a fun time. It was a double header against the Norfolk Tides and the Buffalo Bison. We got to the place a bit before 5, 5 being when the gates opened. We went to the ticket booth by the gate we normally enter, but it was close. No big deal. So me and my dad start walking to the main gate to get tickets, my mom as sis following behind because me and my dad are quick walkers. As we walk, I see these guys with bits of paper in their hand, then I read their shirts (and apologies in advance if I hurt anyone’s feeling), it was PETA. *dun dun du-dun!* Well, they were walking towards me and my dad, I have even stopped talking once I realized who they were. They just kinda walked past us. We must have had a "I don’t think you wanna bug me" air about us, since neither of us are really fond of PETA, normally because a lot of their actions are highly obscure. Well, we soon get our ticket and head back to the other gate, since we still had time to burn. We get there, standing with a few more people, as well as 2 more PETA folk. At one point, some woman yells about a rat running by. Sure enough, there goes a large brown form running right under the gate. My dad commented on how he wasn't surprised about the rat, then the funniest thing hit me... what if that woman had gone "EEE! A rat! Kill it!" around the PETA folk? Hehe.

We soon get in, and get a buy one get one free coupon for veggie burger and veggies dogs. To quote my dad, "Not in this life time..." So we get our program and take our seats, I read for a good bit of the hour we were waiting, and got some food, which would have been better it it wasn't a bit cold. Soon, the game started and the ties did horribly. It was really bad up until the last inning of the first game. Then they did alright. But during this game, they showed the lucky number contest, where you have to open your program to a certain page and see if the number on the page matches the one shown on a screen. Well, we see the last one late, so I frantically open the book, telling someone else to memorize it before is disappeared, I look and read the number off "133...” “13, 36, 37" my sis said. And it matched! So me and my dad went and claimed our prizes, which included several gift certificates, a 1 person pass for a boat ride, and a baseball TCG, which looks relatively interesting.

Another interesting aspect of the game was the "ZOOperstars". They are these inflatable mascot things that are animal puns off of famous player’s names, like Mia Hamster, Mackeral Jordan, and Cow Ripken. It was very amusing. But they seem quite malicious. One of the characters, Ken Giraffey, Jr., kept hitting stuff with his head! It was still amusing.

I also got Cracker Jacks.. the prizes are getting worse. In this one, I got some random math question, and a bad joke (Why was the math book so sad? It had a lot of problems!) But it’s still good tasting stuff. Ah and we also had a group with some kids behind us. It was alright, but you would think it would be common courtesy that if you are sitting right behind someone to not put your feet up on the seat. Well the one girl right behind me didn't know that apparently and poke me twice in the shoulder, with out even noticing or caring, i think she got the hit when she poked me and I made a large shifting motion away from her feet. That really irked me. Ah, the Tides did better in the second game. They were up 2 - 0 when we left, and I am rather sure they won. We soon got back home and I used the computer for a while then slept. Now I just gotta work on a few papers... whee.

I'm gonna watch Kill Bill sometime... really! I am! See ya!

A query
Saturday. 5.29.04 3:08 pm
Not much going on today. I woke about 10:30 on my own, and just laid in bed, until the phone rang and my sis came and told me that mom said to get up... blar. So I got up and showered, and got breakfast. Then I helped clean the house. The sides of it. It was ok, but my mom was being a bit snappy when I didn’t hear what she said (we have a gas powered power sprayer) But we got it done. Now I’m waiting to go to a double header baseball game, Norfolk Tides vs. Buffalo Bison. Should be good.

As a few of you know, I have been playing Paper Mario via emulator. A call to those of you that live near me.. if you have the actual Paper Mario game for N 64.. can I borrow it? The emulator works well enough, but the graphics, my favorite part of this particular game, are VERY glitchy, so if you have a copy, I would be very happy if I could borrow it for a while. Just IM me or comment with a response.

That's it. See ya.

'nother post!
Friday. 5.28.04 9:34 pm
Just felt like posting again. My dad won some random stuff off of a radio. He got 2 hats, a hoodie/jacket and this 'visual companion' to the LOTR: The Two Towers. One hat was for 'School of Rock' and the other hat and hoodie/jacket were for 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'. Well, I claimed the last two items. Well, no one else wanted the hoodie/jacket.. I show you why in a sec, and the hat fit perfectly. Anyway.. I got images.

Here's me in the hoodie. It's convict orange. But its really comfy.

And here's the hat. It again is comfy. It was also free. No complaints here.

I also rented and watched "Big Fish" I really liked the way the story was told and it made sense too. Of COURSE my sister didn't like it. But I liked it alot. I recommend it. I still have ot watch 'Kill Bill" , which I finally rented. That'll wait till I have privacy, casue I don't think anyone in my family cares to see it.

Ah, and the room tour is done. It wold have taken too long to do on here, so it is on Geocities. Don't keep visiting it constantly, you'll eat my bandwidth. If it does go down, just gove it a day or so. So just click here to have a go. Well, enjoy, and see ya!

Making a comeback!
Friday. 5.28.04 1:24 pm
School was alright, sat around for an awards ceremony. Yes, I did allude to me getting an award earlier this week, and when Ms. Simmers, head of tech, announced Advance Programming, I was getting ready to stand and get my award for having a tie with my programming partner for highest average. But she only announced my partner. Well, I stopped and I'm going. "What the hell? Where's my award?" And when se didn't say anything, I started getting pretty miffed, but then she says an "Now we have a dual award for Advanced Programming and Infinity Project I, Heather Selbe." So I was like, "Oooh, ok." so I got my awards. I did run into my partner (who has also worked with me in Infinity) and I was telling him about my shock of not getting called at first and at one point he's like "That infinity certificate is like 25% mine." Uh huh. Suuuure. I still got it anyway. Har. Slacker.

Well, I know I have mentioned my Poker exploits on here, noting how much I have lost/won. Well, yesterday, I had gone broke so many times, I was basically out of the game till next year, when we were to implement new money (our currency consisted of pieces of lined paper with 5 and 10 written on them). Well, this morning, Ashley comes in with the new bus money, nice, colored paper with 5, 10 and images printed on them. Here's the images of the variety of bus money I have in my possession. There are 3 more kinds for the other 3 players, Matt, Annalise and Stephen. But currently I am up! I had $175 when Jeff left and I’m still up with $145 after a few more rounds. I'm actually gonna make a module for my poker stats. So look for that. Anyway, my long weekend has started, Whoopie!

Ah, and to come when I get the images down here, a small tour of my room! Should be fun. See ya!

Pissed

Grar.. I love porgramming to death, but I hate my partner. He's so fucking lazy. I mean, hes an OK guy, but he slacks horribly, and then has no idea what he is doing when he tries to program. Today I made him write the third program in the assignment. So I start working on questions for another class when he asks me about where he need ot use else or else if. I tell him which ,but then I say "A loop would be easier." Well, he doenst listen, and before even asking my help he gets the teachers help, and he makes him use a loop... I love it when people listen to me. I'm just pissy. See ya

Winding away
Wednesday. 5.26.04 6:36 pm
Yay! Only 5 and a half school days left, and with any luck, only 2 days of exams. I had an open notes test in History, survived English and Pre Calc, and watch some random movie in German.

I dislike being single. I don't mind being single and around other couples, but it makes me long to have that sort of relationship with someone again. As I noted before, I have plenty of people who would go out with me, but sadly, they all live in another state, or way-the-hell on the other end of the state. Makes me wonder if I am too nice at times. As Twy said one morning, as we talked about what makes people attractive, "Your cute, but your personality really attracts people." So while in real life, I have a sort of barrier by physical attraction, probably my weaker point, but online, where I know my admirers primarily, they get just my very kind and amusing personality, thus attracting them like flies. While its really nice, it is also a hassle, because most of the guys I meet that are not attached, and sometimes even ones who are, become attracted to me, and I, most of the time respond similarly. This also leads to the dilemma of multiple guys pursuing me at once. Makes me wonder what to do. I'd love to choose one, but I know it is not the right time. I'd also love to visit them, but my parents would go ape shit. Ah well, in time, I suppose it will be worked out...

Now I just have to live with the varying side effects of my dilemma. Hope ya didn't mind the semi-rant. Anyway, see ya.
