Dilated said to read AmbyrJayde's entry and give feedback... As soon as I read it, I was reminded of this poem.

It's very similar in the message behind it, but to be honest, this poem strikes me way more than mere racism. Racism is something you can't get rid of, anywhere, but some of the things mentioned in this poem have affected a nation far greater than just a few racist remarks.

Some of them are just so harsh... some of the things that the Chinese have had to go through are things nobody should have to face. Nobody.

When we were called the Sick Man of Asia, we were the Yellow Peril.
When we are billed to be the next Superpower, we are a threat.

When we closed our doors, you smuggled drugs to our markets.
When we embraced Free Trade, you blame us for taking away your jobs.

When we were falling apart, you marched in your troops and wanted your “fair share”.
When we were putting the broken pieces together again, “Free Tibet” you scream, “it was an invasion!”

So, we tried communism, you hated us for being communists.
When we embraced capitalism, you hate us for being capitalists.

When we have a billion people, you said we were destroying the planet.
When we tried limiting our numbers, you said it is human rights abuse.

When we were poor, you thought we were dogs.
When we loan you cash, you blame us for your debts.

When we build our industries, you called us polluters.
When we sell you goods, you blame us for global warming.

When we buy oil, you call that exploitation and genocide.
When you fight for oil, you call that liberation and democracy.

When we were lost in chaos and rampage, you wanted rule of law for us.
When we uphold law and order against violence, you call that violating human rights.

When we were silent, you said you want us to have free speech.
When we were silent no more, you say we are brainwashed racists.

Why do you hate us so much? We asked.
“No,” you answered, “We don’t hate You.”

We don’t hate you either,

“We have NBC, CNN and BBCs…”

This poem was written during all the free-Tibet and boycott-China-Olympics commotion. I will not boycott. I will watch it on my tv screen and follow every single minute of it as I am unable to be present personally, something which disappoints me greatly, but I will give my wholehearted support to China and wish them every success.

Those who scream for a free Tibet and an Olympic boycott... Whatever. My opinion of you is now very low. Learn some facts about the place before you start making ignorant claims.

Anyways, onto other news, I need a job. Started applying already. Hopefully I'll get a job :)

I'm gna miss someone greatly. Let's call him L. L just called me... He's finally arrived in Taiwan. I won't be able to see him for 2 and a half months ;_; Sigh...

Oh, and today, I found out my friend's bf cheated on her so she's broken up with him. She's really upset over it... Ugh that btard. Seriously, when I get my hands on him, I'm gna--ehhem, okay, nevermind, I'll keep this post PG-13 =] But yeah... Ugh. What an arse!!! >_<;; I'm taking her out for a pudding tomorrow though. Hopefully that'll cheer her up some :)

...as to why my profile photo before suddenly decided to stop resizing itself... o_o;; It became huge and basically stretched my layout as well -_-;; I don't get why. Oh well I've changed it to a new one now and it's resized quite nicely :)

Now, I applied for payperpost a while ago to accept my blog. I got an email back the first time saying they couldn't accept it because I didn't have a proper archives page (hence I went on about and wrote out an archives page after seeing Kirei and Kkama67's) but since I've updated the info with an archives page and submitted the blog again they haven't gotten back to me at all...

I think it's been almost a week now? I got an email back from them the very next day after I applied the first time! ¬_¬;; Hm, I wonder if they are ever going to accept it or if I should just cancel it altogether? I will ask Kirei how long it took for them to get back to her :)

Another thing, I've put forward the suggestion of an archives page on the forum, but I honestly wonder if people still check it? The forum seems quite dead, pardon me for saying @_@;;

Well, I guess NuTang did go through periods of downtime which probably irritated quite a few and maybe put them off? =/ I still love this place though :)

I think I might collect my money from NuTang soon as well--finally finished setting up my paypal account so yay! ^_^

...That I have nothing worthwhile to say... Bleh, isn't that new? Heh... And I can't really be bothered to blog about things I've missed in the past now tbh :(

So... I guess I'll ramble a bit... I'm good at that x]

Oh! I bought a pair of leggings today!!! :D I've been meaning to for a long time but couldnt find any :( So I was looking around New Look the other day and lo and behold! I found some! Well, I found some very thick, opaque-materialed tights and thought they could pass off for leggings, but because I was in a rush I said to myself I'd come back another day.

So since we always turn up to church an hour early cos my sis has Chinese school at church beforehand, I usually use that time to do a little wandering. So today, I wandered back into New Look to the tights and realised, no, they can't pass for leggings... sigh.

BUT, when I looked around, I saw a pair of leggings on one of those fake model thingys! So I asked around to see if there were any... wooo!!! Found some!!! They were only £5 too! And can I just say, I absolutely love them ^_^

At the same time, I also picked up this gorgeous summer dress, which I was dead tempted to buy, but it was £25 and I only had about £20 on me altogether, AND they were strapless... I have yet to buy a strapless bra >_>;;

Therefore, I didn't buy them today, but honestly, I might have to go back to New Look to get them. Who would have thought New Look had some really nice clothes that suited me, eh? x] Usually I look awful in anything New Look ._.;;

Oh, it's also father's day! ^_^ So I cooked dinner :) Well, with help from daddy, of course. Obviously I could have made something on my own, but considering our fridge is absolutely EMPTY, (I'm not joking. There is a jar of raspberry jam and an iceberg lettuce in there and I think that's about it?) my mum took out some ribs from the freezer, expecting me to cook them.

Well, I've now learnt how to make some ribs :)

Something I've recently been playing and enjoying a lot lately as well is Stepmania! :D If you want, you can download it from there and download some song packs and play! It's so fun! ^_^ I'm only really interested in it cos some of my friends are amazing at it =O I'm getting better! x]

Oh! And has anyone seen "Cinderella: A Twist in Time"? I watched it with my sister the other day (it was her 4th time watching? She just rewatched it downstairs AGAIN as well--she's really obsessed with it =3)... I love it! It really is great ^_^

It's basically a twist in the Cinderella plot... What if the stepsisters and stepmother got their hands on the Fairy Godmother's wand, turned back time and Anastasia was the one that fit the slipper...? What would happen then? =O

Quite amusing ;)

Oh! And if anyone watches Heroes, the cheerleader sings the credits song for the movie... Her voice is surprisingly wonderful! =D

Hm, I haven't mentioned the archives page to dave yet, or put it in the suggestions page... I think I'll go do that now :)

Okay... well, I've rambled some! x] I'll leave it at that :)

I've already started on one, but not finished it... and it's not for NuTang, so I was thinking of making another layout for NuTang, what'd you think? ^_^

Also, I'm going to purchase a domain... The one I really wanted was Unforgettable.Net, but it's already taken! TT_TT Does anyone else have any good ideas for domain names? =3

By the way, I've finished my archives page now! :) Took a while, but finally got it done. I think I'll still make the suggestion for an integrated archives page on NuTang though...? =3 Although I don't know if dave even looks at that page anymore so I might have to contact him directly =3 Not many people got back to me in my last entry...

Speaking of which, haven't I been good with updates? ;)

And I just noticed... it's Friday the 13th! ...Be careful, all you superstitious people... Avoid some black cats today, eh? ;)

ONE EXAM LEFT!!! YESSS!!!

I am actually so happy. Bwaha. Words cannot possibly express how happy I am x] Honestly, I'm so frikken happy it's unreal. I only have one exam left: Drama DRA6!

You know, I was fully prepared to do oookay on my maths and fail my drama cos maths was the only one I revised for. Unfortunately I think I did another C2, which, if you were reading my blog last year, you would have known that I failed ^^;;

Basically, I had maths C4 today, final maths exam, the big boss, as you might call it. Yus. This big boss was a big, big boss. A big, fat, ugly, horrible boss which I'm afraid I didn't tackle very well sigh :(

I basically screwed up quite badly; I couldnt do the proofs in the last question and I also missed out various parts of questions along the way TT_TT Well, I really, really hope that it doesn't pull my overall grade down to a B. I reckon if I did okay for my S1 and manage to somehow get a B/C for my C4 I can still get an A in maths overall.

Hopefully.

Oh well, God was there with me; He'll know the way ^_^

But now that I've finished telling you about how badly I did on my maths, omw... My drama exam was amazing. I really wish I did that one first (yeah, I had an exam clash: both were supposed to begin at 9am, so I had to do one after the other and I requested to do maths first then drama, so... yes) but yeah, I'm actually glad I did it afterwards, because it was such a brilliant paper.

I have seriously never sat a better drama paper before in my life and believe me, I've sat a few! Ahhh I was so happy with it. The questions we got were so, unbelievably easy I almost laughed out loud in the exam hall.

Only annoying thing was, I'd just finished writing out an hour and a half of maths and my hands were killing me, then I was required to write for another hour and a half for drama... Man that hurt :(

I had to start writing with my left hand half way through to give my right hand a break. My knuckles were seriously hurting and I wondered if that was normal o_O;; so yes... Had to write with my left hand for some of it. The examiner's gna wonder what happened x] Oh well, thank God I'm more or less ambidextrous.

I'm slow writing with my left hand though :(

Something I wanted to bring up in the NuTang community though, is the problem that we don't have archives of our pages? I mean, we have 'pages', but no archives? Maybe I should take it to dave that a page for archives would be appreciated and probably a bit more useful than having 'Kuri's Site' and 'weblog' linking to the same page at the top? Cos poor Kirei and Kkama67 had to write out their archives - must have taken them ages!

Believe me, I tried. If you go to my 'readings' page, you can see my attempt at getting all my entries down into an archive. It took a gooood few hours, and I've only done 2 years worth! @_@;;

Only thing though, if we do get an archives page I will be pretty gutted that I did the whole thing by hand =sigh= but I will be more grateful that I won't have to keep updating it by hand though, tbh.

So, what'd you think, guys? Should I put it forward into the suggestions? =3 I mean, it would probably help, right? Rather than having 'last 10 entries' as a module, you get a page for archives =3

I wonder if anyone still checks the suggestions part of the forum though ^^;;

Okay, I was warned earlier in the shoutbox that there was the "brutal, evil murder of a kitty" post somewhere on Nutang, but nothing, and I mean nothing could have prepared me for what I saw.

I was just browsing on Nutang, as you do, and I noticed a new avvie in the top 5 most popular, Rachel (I've gone off her page complete. I refuse to go back and link her, whoever she is. Sorry.) and I was wondering who she was, so thought I'd check out her other posts to see if she was a newbie or an old account that had somehow become majorly popular or an old friend returned.

Oh my word.

That post was the most DISGUSTING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. I didn't even see it properly, I just wanted to scroll to the end of the page and it still freaked me out!

I guess when my brain skim-read 'hope the kitty post didn't freak you out' or something in her latest post, it didn't occur to me that the kitty-murder was on her page. I remember being forewarned of another name on the shoutbox earlier... o_O;;

I didn't pick up the warnings when I saw a heel on the poor thing either... My gosh it was horrible. Why would anyone want to do such a thing?! Why would anyone take photos of such a thing?! Some people have sick, sick minds.

That was so gross. And what's worse, this Rachel girl only seems to have 3 posts. So therefore I'm a) stumped as to why she's in the top 10 [although I have a feeling it's cos of the kitty-murder post] and b) horrified that the eyeball of the kitty can still be seen cos it's at the bottom of the last photo, and her bottom entry is too short to hide it.

I didn't even bother reading her last entry. Maybe it said something like 'hi, I'm new' but I'm not about to go back to her page to find out...

On the bright side, I've been very productive today. 2 exams on Thursday morning so I've been preparing for my maths all day. On the down side, I realise I absolutely suck at maths and don't know half the syllabus. Yay me...

Oh God that was still disgusting.
