"I thought we were meant to be forever?"
The girl cried hopelessly under the rain.
He looked at her.
"Everything has come to an end." That's the answer she got from him.
She collasped onto the ground with rain splattering softly on her face.

Everything seems to be yesterday only. The day when he walked forward to her and said that he needed to buy a gift box urgently. The day when they chatted over the phone till the wee hours. The day when he held her hand while taking a bus home together. The day when they had their love sealed with a kiss.
It's past tense.
It all happened during the last christmas. She was a shop assistant in a gift shop.
"Dear, are you coming down to fetch me? I'm closing shop in a minute time."
"Sorry my dear, I'm still with my friends. I shall rush down in about 20 minutes' time. Okie?"
"Alright..."
After placing the headset down, she proceed to do her closing and locking of the main door. Suddenly, everything seems to be moving. She tried to grab something beside her but failed to do so. Everything went black.
Her fragile body was lying motionlessly on the cold, hard floor.
He was waiting in front of the Mall watching kids playing with the artifical snow. Time passed but she was nowhere to be seen. There was no answer from her handphone. He walked up to the shop to find her but to no avail.
An hour passed and he went home thinking that she might have other programmes with her friends.
The next day, someone discovered her and sent her to the hospital. From there, she was diagnosed with blood cancer. She couldn't accept it but she chose to keep it from him. Life went on but things aren't going smooth.
"Dear dear, why are you not here yet? The movie is about to start."
"Sorry. I'm caught up with my matters at work. You carry on with the movie yourself then."
Tears rolled down her pinkish cheek. The tickets were given to the bin. She went to the hospital for follow-ups. She don't have much time left but still she loves him. Making use of her every second with him is her greatest wish.
"Dear dear, I have made some Sandwiches with Ham, Cheese and Eggs. Shall I bring them to your office so that you can have it during your breaktime?"
"I'm going out with my colleagues later on."
Filled with disappointment, she still bring the lunch box to his office. While she was making her way up to the lift, she saw what she shouldn't have seen. He had his hand over a lady's waist and his mouth near to the lady's ear. They were walking toward his car.
Eggs, breads were all over the floor. She was still too weak to handle this fact. Her natural instincts wanted her to confront them but her frail body prevented her from doing so. Everything went blank and the next thing she knew was that, she's hospitalised.
"I'm afraid that this is the best I can do." The doctor said and left.
Hiding under the pillow, all she could do was to cry and recall what leads to this failure. Her family was rejected at door and was helpless.
He finally called her.
"I need to meet you. I've got something to clarify."
Feeling confused and hurt, she got herself changed and sneaked out of the hospital to meet him at a nearby park. The sky was drizzling with rain.
"I think we should come to an end."
"But why? Aren't we going fine all along?"
"Nope. We have too different thinking. I want a future with career and someone who will support me fully in my career."
"I support you!"
"Not in this way. I want an independent lady, an attractive lady, a lady with her own career. Not someone who is contented working in a small gift shop.
"... You didn't talk to me about this before."
"I used to think that this is a small matter but ever since such lady appeared in my life, I think we seriously need to break off. I'm sorry."

A month passed..
"I'm sorry. Sorry for hurting you deeply. Sorry for the change of heart. Sorry for not being there with you while you are sick. Sorry."
It started to rain. He was kneeling down among the long grasses beside her.
"I will always remember you." He said.
