Flavor Flave Says No More "Love", Game Distancing Himself From Dr. Dre?
    Friday. 9.29.06 12:39 pm

Flavor Flave is leaving his disturbingly popular show on VH-1 Flavor of Love after this season ends. He told TMZ that if he finds love this season--which I hear he has--then there's no point in continuing. He also wants to focus on his new album and other media ventures.

But what kind of album can Flave really make as a hype man? I'm just sayin. And what other ventures is this man talking about? Movies? Books? Flave needs to keep it real and play on his strengths--publicizing the foolishness that is his life. He seems like a very nice dude, but it sounds like we're about to be in an episode of "When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong" will soon.

    Game on MTV's TRL yesterday

So Game has been everywhere this week. Radio interviews, MTV, BET, all that. And he continues to talk about how Dr. Dre is not on this Doctor's Advocate album. He told 106 and Park yesterday: "I don't need Dre's beats to define me. Go get the Doctor's Advocate." Damn. And he had that same attitude when on the radio here in DC on WPGC 95.5 Wednesday. He said several times that his beats that he does himself are better than Dre's and this upcoming album is 100% his.

Funny since he's working with Em on this album. So I know all that shit he's talking isn't 100% true. So s just trying to stir controversy? Or does he believe his own hype? But I guess we'll just have to see in November when this piece finally drops.

Suge Knight Rides A Bull, Foxy Escapes Charges, Lupe Fizzles
    Friday. 9.29.06 12:47 pm
    http://blogs.sohh.com/ya_heard/archives/2006/09/suge_knight_rid.html

WTF? First Suge Knight tries to choke a chick in the club and called it "dancing," now he's riding a mechanical bull in the club. This dude needs a hobby. But it is funny ish indeed.

Edit: This video was deleted by the myspace user who originally uploaded it

SOHH Foxy "Ill Nana" Brown had the nerve to go up in court rockin' shades and told the judge he needs to make the photogs stop snapping pics of her. The Judge played her on both and told her to remove the shades and the photogs can snap away. But for some reason the Judge did clear her of both of her charges (one included making terroristic threats). Damn, must be nice to be a rapper these days.
Damn Lupe. SOHH Lupe Fiasco sold a whopping 58,000 LPs his opening week. He was outsold by Chingy and Fergie. And to think, I thought he would be a new face of hip-hop. I guess people just aren't ready. I heard he's blaming it on the fact that his album leaked a while back. Album is tight by the way, so get it in your life.

Check out Young Jeezy's new track "I Love It" right here. It's his first single off Thug Motivation 102.

And in case you haven't heard, yesterday's blog reported T.O. attempted suicide but now it's out that all the media got their shit wrong. Surprise surprise. He denies any suicide attempt.

He needs to get as much MTV exposure as possible. Reel in those skateboarders. Just because his stuff leaked doesn't mean the album should sell that damn low. That's pretty bad for a rapper of his caliber with one slammin beat after another. Damn. Sorry Lupe.

ARE YOU SURE IT WAS ONLY 58,000??? LEMEE SEE SOME SOUNDSCAN. BECAUSE BILLBOARD WAS REPORTING HE MOVED 95,000...WHICH IS STILL "UNDERWHELMING"....BUT I CANT BELIEVE "PIMP C" MOVED MORE STRAIGHT OUT OF JAIL THEN LUPE WITH "8 MONTHS OF HYPE FROM THE MAJOR LABEL MACHINE".

Posted by: tc at September 28, 2006 11:09 AM

yeah lupe's album is straight fire, but he dropped at the wrong time, a sad day for hiphop but everything happens for a reason, many albums are slept on but repected as classics latr. that gnarls barkly did crazy numbers but its on sum alternative shit and college kids who wouldnt bump lupe copped that cuz its mostly singing anyway i think. but for me, its the same story, i cant listen to the radio, all this trap music kills my ears. i respect people that hustle but cmon, but why does that gotta be all they talk about damn. broaden ur horizons, but if they do that it wont sell so i guess i cant blame these greedy fuckin puppets. remind me of sum minstrel show type shit, only thing the hood is about is coke, guns and hoes according to these these clowns. i'm not big on joe buddens, but i like his line about saying...everyones a killa, but the bodies dont stack up, everyones movin keys, but the amounts dont match up...sumthin like that dont remember...these mufuckas is lyin but the 13 year olds that buy the shit dont care...and sum people in they 20s got minds of 13 year olds. its well produced poison for kids, marketed by rich corporations to make the hood look bad so no progress will be made, just my 2 cents..peep my dude Mic Sol for the truth...www.myspace.com/micsol

If you think about it, Hip-Hop isnt selling at all. I think TI was the only rapper to go platinum this year. Hip-Hop as a whole is being destroyed with an abundance of kill-a-nigga sell crack chicken noodle soup-snap rapper singer shit. It needs to be destroyed so it can rebuild. Also, copp that Lupe...I did and it was money well spent

Posted by: Whateva at September 28, 2006 11:30 AM

Lupe's album is classic status. He deserved to sell a lot more. Yeah the album leaked but I've seen plenty of other albums leak and still make good #'s. I think people are just disinterested in hiphop. If he would've came out in like 2000 - 2004 he would've at least moved 300,000 albums. I just think the hiphop bubble bursted in 05'. I think it's not really the cool thing for white people to listen too anymore. They drive the sales. Once you lose them these are the #'s you're left with. Hopefully he can push like 50,000 copies a week like Gnarls barkley did and end up going platinum that way. It's a good album he deserves those #'s.

Jay-Z "Balls Out" Jim Jones, Young Buck Follows 50's Lead, D4L Defends Itself, Method Man Goes Mental
    Friday. 11.17.06 10:07 am
In this week's Pulse Report, the streets are buzzing about Jay-Z serving Jim Jones a diss record, Young Buck declaring war on Cash Money and warning The Game, D4L going off on Nas and Method Man saying "fuck everybody."

    1. Jay serves Jim Jones. Well, apparently Hov can't keep his mouth shut. It's one thing to address Jones on Funk Master Flex's Hot 97 NYC radio show, but Capo isn't even on Jay's level. Why give him a diss record? Nonetheless, "Brooklyn High" leaked yesterday (November 16). Using Jones' "Fly High" instrumental, Jigga keeps Jones on the hook and shouts "Brooklyn" over Jim's "Ballin'" hook. The God emcee's jabs did land several times. "Brooklyn get paper/tote big things/we chase niggas around their own ball games/(Rucker)," he snapped in reference to Jones and Cam'ron allegedly getting jumped at Harlem, NY's Rucker Park. Jiggaman's onslaught continues in the second verse, as he attacks Capo's capital. "Your bank versus mine/if you ballin, nigga what I'm doing can't be defined/the Joneses can't keep up/maybe my nigga Nas, but I got stronger after ether," Hov spit. Mr. President doesn't let up, finishing off Jones by flipping his basketball analogy against him, offering "I'm ballin for real/you're pump fakin it/Manhattan keep on makin it/Brooklyn keep on takin it."

    2. Buck to take on Cash Money and The Game. Buck doesn't talk smack. So the Cashville, Tennekkee rapper has grown tired of people asking him to comment on reports that Baby and Lil' Wayne play tonsil hockey. "I ain't trying to really continue speaking on that shit," an irritated Buck recently sighed on Sirius' Shade 45 channel. "For the average man, period...that's just something that don't float our fucking boats, man. Your lips don't go on no other man in no kind of fashion and I don't give a fuck if it was a fucking mafia shit."

Minutes later, Buck's commentary grew agitated when he revisited his days with Cash Money. Word is Baby and company gave the G-Unit soldier the run around back in the day, leaving him hanging at the Cash Money office several times. Buck then detailed that after leaving with Juvenile, he next saw Baby moments before picking up an MTV Video Music Award, years later. "Payback's a bitch, nigga," Buck shouted excitedly. "I've been real calm on them niggas. I ain't been wanna say nothing cause I know if one of them niggas say something towards Buck, I'm a end they fucking career. We can rap it out or we can play it in the streets.

"I'll Ja Rule them niggas over there, so leave me alone, nigga," he continued. "You think you got a problem with Juvey and B.G.; you'll have a true problem with me." Buck even expressed interest in signing Cash Money nemesis Gillie Da Kid. "Shout out to Gillie, nigga. I'm trying to sign you too," the Tennessee titan declared. "Gillie if you listening right now, nigga...I got a lane over this way. It's payback. Fuck it! I'm setting off the fucking war right here." Of course, Buck couldn't leave the station without licking a few shots Game's way. "And fuck you too Game for that last mixtape you put out," he burst. "I'ma tell you like this sucker.. Nigga, one minute you're talking about squashing shit and the people is even getting confused with your bi-polar looking like you having ass, nigga. One minute you're talking about, I don't wanna no problem with 50. Then the next minute you on a mixtape talking about, [Lloyd] Banks' sales... Like you the reason his sales and shit got a low first week or something. You a fucking bitch, boy. And when I catch you on these streets, nigga. I'm not gon talk."

    3. D4L's Fabo goes off on Nas. With Nas' album dropping in roughly a month, the "Is hip-hop dead?" debate isn't likely to go away anytime soon. Recently, SOHH caught up with D4L and asked them to weigh in on God's Son LP title. While most members kept their answers short, D4L front man Fabo provided a, let's say... elaborate answer. "If everybody mind they own damn business then my momma be aight cause...the only reason why I do this shit, I don't do it for him. I do it for me and my family and my momma proud of me, not him," Fabo explained. "So if I didn't do hip-hop or whatever he wanna call it or anybody else wanna call it, then he gon take care of me? Cause I'm a grown man. I gotta do what I gotta do to feed my family, so whatever the hell I'm doing, I'm grown. Stay the hell out of mine." Wait, wait. The boy Dot said that Fabo walked away from the SOHH cameras only to come back and add an exclamation point, saying, "I wish a motherfucker would!"

    4. Meth blows a fuse. Years removed from his prime, Method Man has been painted as a bitter, out of touch rapper in recent months. It is now common to read or hear Meth complain about the lack of support he's received from Def Jam, radio stations or media outlets. And now, Meth is complaining that people say he's complaining too much. Go figure. During a recent performance, Tical vented some more and shared one of the back stories that lead to his disgruntled state. Apparently, Meth sent BET a tape on which he got a crowd to scream, "Fuck Kelly Griffin," (a reference to BET's TK), during one of his concerts. He believes the tape was the beginning of his end.

He also took the stage as a platform to give hell to anyone who has labeled him "bitter" or a "mad rapper." [Check the clip here.] Dude even concluded by hinting that he'll whoop a tail or two if anyone steps out of line. "I'm just defending my motherfucking self, so fuck they life," Meth told the audience. "That go for Vibe [magazine], that go for Source [magazine], that go for XXL [magazine], Hot 97 and any other motherfucker that wanna jump on the Meth's bitter bandwagon." Word? Fuck me too then.

Flavor Flav Leftover Gets Own Reality Show
    Thursday. 9.14.06 1:12 am

Wednesday - September 13, 2006 by Alexis Chase
    Flavor Flav

One of the lucky ladies from the first season of "Flavor of Love" has won another moment in the spotlight.

According to the entertainment magazine Variety VH1 is planning a spinoff of "Flavor of Love" starring one of the female oddballs from the series' first season.

The show will work similarly to ABC's "The Bachelorette" while incorporating some of the zany elements that have popularized "Flavor of Love." Viewers can expect a diverse cast of male contestants - ranging from lawyers to rappers and even the unemployed, all in competition for the love of Flav's former romantic interest.

While the network still hasn't disclosed which "Flavor of Love" contestant has been picked to star, VH1 has already approved production for 10 episodes of the currently untitled spinoff series. Production is scheduled to begin at the end of September, with the show airing in 2007.

"Flavor of Love" and "Flavor of Love 2" executive producers Mark Cronin and Chris Abrego who are also producing the new series, have decided that after two seasons it may be time to put the "Flavor of Love" series to rest.

"We are developing new show ideas with him," Chris Abrego said. "We think it's time for him to do something new. He's funny and a likable character."

As SOHH previously reported, Flav's first solo album, entitled Flavor Flav! is due out on October 31st on his Drayton Records label.

Currently in its second season, "Flavor of Love" airs on Sunday nights on VH1.
