I Want to Breathe!!!
Friday, February 23, 2007
So tomorrow I'm going to job-hunting. I bought a nice outfit last week; I'm gonna wear it tomorrow when I go to the mall in search of a job. I hope I'm not sick again, like I am today, and that I get to talk to Ed cause I miss him and haven't had the chance in awhile. I've also decided that I don't really want to go to SuperWow this year; I'd rather go on the Missions Trip. I don't know where they're going this year or anything, but I plan on finding out. I know Pastor Karl is going to be doing a service on Missions in a few weeks; he actually wanted Esther to come and speak about that but she's going to be, ironically, on a missions trip in Costa Rica that week. Maybe he'll mention where Cornerstone is going for missions this summer? I know they went to Ecuador last summer; don't know if they're going they're again or not. If I don't do the missions, I'm gonna (maybe) apply for the summer internship at Cornerstone.

Eh. I want to breathe!!! I hate having colds/flus. They suck!! I'm gonna go take a nap in a little bit; maybe that will help some. The meds seem to be ineffective and these tissue are starting to hurt my nose. What happened to the ones with lotion?? Those are nice...

I'm Better Today
Saturday, February 24, 2007
So job hunting today went ok. Not the best, but none of the hiring managers were there. I'm starting to think they're never there on Saturdays. That kinda holds me back right now since my sister keeps tagging along to go shopping. I'm not there to shop, I'm there to get a job!!! Ugh. The assistant manager from Charlotte Russe seemed to like me though, so that one may work out. I'm supposed to hear from them by Thursday at the latest. Charlotte Russe would be cool, it's one of my favorite stores there in the FL Mall. I have no idea what's going to happen with the other stores, they all took my application and placed it in a pile with a bunch of other applications; not really what I was expecting but what can I do about it?

I got to talk to Ed last night!! That made me really happy. He reenlisted, but it only adds on an extra two days to his term. I'm not quite sure how that works out, but he also said he got school option so he can go to school next January. Awesome! Wonder what he's going to major in or study? Ed also got a promotion; really proud of him for that. I wish October would get here sooner, I want a hug from Ed!! I miss him so much lately, and time seems to move so slowly; it's still February for crying out loud!! I can't wait until summer starts, there'll be plenty of activities at church to get involved in to keep me busy for sure.

Oh, and my cold is gone. Yay! No more illness for me!

Not Quite Halfway, But Close Enough!!!
Friday, March 23, 2007
So this is an exciting weekend that's coming up. Ed and I are reaching the halfway point in this deployment in a few days, and hopefully it will be his last deployment so I never have to deal with this again. (Maybe I will, maybe I won't, I don't know. But I will always pray that I don't ever have to do this again 'cause it's really not fun..) Esther is also coming home today! . We're going to hang out tomorrow and share some pictures from Bok Towers (mine) and Costa Rica (hers). I'm trying to get my dad to scan the ones from Bok Towers so I can upload them on here but so far no luck. There's two really nice ones that would be perfect with my new layout on here too. Hopefully I can get that done real soon. After we hang out and just basically chat for a bit, we're going to sit on Josiah's Truth Project meeting. I've been to it before and it's really cool, I just can't drive to St. Cloud every Saturday night and again on Sunday mornings. (If I drove myself, that'd be different.) I'm also going to get information about Cornerstone's mission trip. Apparently they've already started having a few meetings for it, says Josiah. I might still get a chance to go though, I don't think they have had *that* many meetings yet. And Esther might come too! Her plans to stay in California over the summer don't seem to be working out the way she'd hoped, but I would love to hang with her all summer in St. Cloud or Ecuador. If I don't go to Ecuador, I'm going to apply for the internship, I guess. (Is there a deadline for that?) I gotta talk to Pastor Karl; I also need to have him redo my reference form for Trinity College cause I lost it when he sent it back to me. This time I'm going to give him a fully addressed envelope so he can send it straight to the school. (That's actually what he was supposed to in the first place, but I forgive him. I didn't give him the envelope like I was originally supposed to, so it's not totally his fault..)

Ecuador-Doubtful
Wednesday, March 28, 2007
Last night was my first meeting for the Ecuador missions trip. And probably my last. I'd feel more comfortable going on a trip like this with at least one person closer to my age, and while last nights group of people were great, they're all a bit older than I am. Esther has previously mentioned that Trinity College goes on a missions trip every year for spring break, and that appeals to me more right now for many reasons. Esther would probably be along, and there'd be a few more people closer to my age. I'd also have more time to save up the money for a trip like that; not just 2 months to raise $1500. Also, the meeting last night ran later than I'd've liked--I didn't get home until 10:30, and the meeting started at 7. I was soo tired when I got home, and I missed a possible chance to talk to Ed. I was too tired to get up and online to see if I could've had a chance to talk to him. .
I'm definitely going to get online tonight; I hope he does too.I think I'm also going to try and talk to Esther tonight; I'm going to give her a call. I hope she's not working or overloaded with homework. I want to ask her what Karl said about interning over the summer; I haven't done that yet cause I was planning on going to Ecuador, but now that's not going to happen I may intern at Cornerstone over the summer if at all possible.

Trinity College of Florida is AWESOME!
Tuesday, April 24, 2007
So, I got to visit Esther at college last week..so much fun!! I got there around 5 on Weds. afternoon and we had dinner together Chick-Fil-A. You ever tried dipping those waffle fries in the ranch dip?? It's GOOD. After dinner, we went and put my things in the dorm room we were saying in and went off to church. It was awesome! The youth group is a bit smaller than Cornerstone, and runs a little differently, but it was still really cool. They had music--my favorite part of worship and one of the few things I couldn't live without, nice people, and a good message that reminded me of the one Pastor Karl gave the Sunday prior..hm. Maybe God is trying to tell me something? I got free stuff too, and candy, although it wasn't really necessary. I enjoyed my time there, I had a lot of fun.

On Thursday, we went to two classes in the morning, and one in the afternoon. I don't remember what the classes were exactly, but some of the students shared their experiences of witnessing to others. Mike told a story about him and his partner were witnessing to an old man, who was friendly at first, but got angry at them when he learned one of them was sometimes hard of hearing. Later, when they caught up with some of their other Christian friends, they found out another pair had come across the same old mine--they just didn't see his angry side! The second class of the day was...well I don't remember. I started doodling...I think it may have been something to do with poetry or whatnot.

Before lunch, and after the second class of the day, Esther and I walked around the campus. At least..we're pretty sure we were still on Trinity Property. We sat with Charlie and some of his friends at lunch before going to a dorm meeting that was being held that day. After lunch we attended another class, and I doodled again. I was starting to fall asleep at the point, and indeed took a nap after the class ended and Esther went to work. After napping, I hung out for about an hour, sent a few messages on MySpace, and then went to dinner. (Would you believe I got quite a few messages and comments while I was gone? I never get any when I'm at home!)

Ed called after dinner and I got to talk to him for a little bit while I waited for Esther to return from work. I also watched some Tv and Pirates of the Caribbean. We went out to Starbucks once she got back with Charlie, who is a really cool dude who shared 'the mormon bathroom' story during the drive. I don't think there is any way I could retell it the way he told it, but it is hysterical! He's a bit of a comedian, that Charlie is. He told a couple of jokes while we walked around outside of Starbucks, next to Publix and Target, before we headed back to Trinity.

Friday, I attended two more classes with Esther: Interpersonal Communications and Intro to Psychology. Those two were probably my favorites. They both kept my interest long enough to keep me from doodling too. IC was probably my absolute favorite. I don't quite remember what was being taught, but something about relationships with friends and how the professor is friends with some people who are now in jail..Yeah. In Psychology we learned some of the different symptoms and behavioral patterns of people with schizophrenia which was very cool to learn about. (I'm planning on majoring in psychology/counselling, so it's no surprise I found that course interesting.) We had chapel after Psych. and I don't remember the message exactly as my mind kind of drifted elsewhere, but I got to learn a few new worship songs, which was way cool! The speaker did a really good job, and there were a few announcements made concerning the graduating seniors and whatnot.

After lunch on Friday, Esther and I both finished packing our things for the weekend and headed back home. All in all, my trip to Trinity was AWESOME. I totally loved it and I cannot wait to go there full time in the fall. Great classes, nice people, and someplace where I finally feel I belong. That's where I'm meant to be, I can feel it. I just have to wait a few more months..now to get that $200 I need to reserve my space in the dorms and in the classes...hm. Any ideas? I'm job hunting, but it's not going very well, so any ideas would be welcome!!

Update
Tuesday, May 22, 2007
So...I'm, like, seriously falling off my health kick or whatever you want to call it. I've been doing so well for the past four or five months with cutting back on caffeine and walking everyday, and now I've gotten off track. Kaiti has said she wants to start walking with me in the evenings, but she's always working in the evenings..what about the morning, when she's off and it's still a little cool out?

*Sigh* I miss my daily walks. I haven't gone walking since I visited Esther out at Trinity--that was over a month ago! What a shame.

I went over to Esther's on Thursday about two weeks ago..we went swimming in her pool with Brad (the pool vacuum, named at a slumber party about 5 years ago), and then watched Finding Nemo. Her family's been working on her roof-doing what exactly I don't know, but they should be finished by now. Friday, I went over to her house again and we watched a video from 'The Truth Project', a bible study (sort of) that we're going to try and bring to Trinity next year. We also made an agreement to each read two chapters of Genesis a day while she's away on her roadtrip for the next month.

My cousin, Jeremy, got married on Saturday to his girlfriend, Brittani. I don't know much about her but she seems like a sweet girl. I'm glad he's found someone he wants to spend his life with. My cousin, Josh and his girlfriend, Rhachel (sp?) are getting married in July, and my 'uncle' Clyde is getting married next...April, I think. Ed and I have decided to wait, but it is definitely still a part of our future plans. (After the deployment and post-deployment stress and all.)

Sunday was pretty much like any other Sunday. Went to church, came home and slept, then went to bible study. Bible study was actually kind of fun-we got to learn what our gifts and talents are. My top scores were in Music, Miracles, Exhortation, and Intercession. Can't say I was really surprised by my scores; I've always kind of known that my talents lay in those areas.

Monday, yesterday, was uneventful. I didn't really do anything except sleep and watch Friends. I'm hoping to clean my room today, do something somewhat productive and then they're is a meeting at FUMC for VBS teachers and volunteers. Oh! The children's director from FUMC called last night and instead of just volunteering, my sister and I are going to be teachers/assistant teachers since we're in college and not high school anymore. How exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time! I've volunteered for VBS for so many years now, but actually going from volunteer to teacher is a bit more responsibility. I think I can handle it though--she wouldn't have asked if she didn't think we could either, right? I can't wait for VBS to start; that's a week I know is going to fly by. Hopefully, June will go a lot quicker than May...seriously. May has just been dragging all month long. Come on, June!! I'm ready!!
