OK, so now what y’all got to say? Lil Wayne sat down and talked to VH1 exclusively, and he had this to say about the DJ Drama/DJ Cannon arrest that took place last week here in Atlanta.



He tells VH1:

"You gotta do it right. It's gonna be a message. [The authorities] ain't playing. They gonna make an example. They gonna straighten the game out. A lot of companies take a fall with those mixtapes. N---as be caking up off them mixtapes. The artists can drop his album — and everybody knows that hip-hop [album sales are in] decline — nobody ain't gonna buy the album, and everybody gets the mixtapes off of the Internet or whatever way they get it. The artists ain't caking, but the n---a you made the mixtape with is caking up. Thank God I ain't got that problem, but I know a lot of people who do."

My boi from hiphopruckus.com had this to say about the Lil Wayne’s comments.

Sounds sort of hypocritical coming from Lil Wayne, since he has been featured in several mixtapes for which I think have catapulated his career, so to speak. But in a sense I do agree with him that there are also those DJ out there that use his material without his permission and from that aspect of the game, the authorities should crack down. But what about the other side of the coin...what does that do to that unsigned artists that's trying to make a new for himself on the street do now? Does he keep getting rejected by these major record labels? If it wasn't for the mixtape circuit several MCs like Papoose, Yo Gotti, Slim Thug, etc...would have never been discovered or be at the status there are at. Hmm!! To me, The recent crackdown on DJ Drama and Cannon is just another way for these record labels "force the hand" and make it tougher for the "Little Man" , that being MCs and DJs, to make it independently in this Hip Hop Game!! You do the math!

I’ve already said what I had to say about the situation. Y’all called me a hater, and a dumb muthafucker who don’t rep ATL right. So at this point, I will just post what otha kats in the game have to say. To be contiuned....

We all recall Mary J. Blige's public expression of disgust about her previous Vibe cover in December 2005. It was during the Vibe Awards that our girl from Yonkers kept it real while on stage receiving the magazine's coveted VLegend Award.

Since Mary is all renewed and enlightened, and Mimikins is no longer spinning webs over @ 215, Mary happily graces the cover of Vibe's "150th Collector's Edition Issue."



Thank God they got rid of that bubbly font! But they went overboard on the cover lines.

GOOD LOOK ALL AROUND!

Mary and her eight Grammy nominations will help move this issue on the newsstands.

Kudos to Vibe for getting it right. Those last few covers have been less than delicious... but this shit makes my mouth water.

It’s good to see that the “King of The South’s’ success hasn’t gone to his head. With millions of records sold, his own record label, multiple accolades, and a pretty decent night club in Bankhead—“Club Crucial”, its good see that T.I. is still holding down his original chick, former member of Xscape—Tiny.

My homegirl, Sandra Rose (who runs the popular photography/and celebrity news website Sandrarose.com) spoke to Tiny’s mother and exclusively and has found out the following information.

Firstly, Tiny is pregnant and the baby is due in June!! She doesn't know the sex of the baby but she said Tiny and T.I. are ecstatic. The couple plans to marry after the baby arrives so they are looking at a July date for the wedding.

While details surround the time and venue of the marriage are currently under wraps, believe me when I tell you that somebody will open there mouths and blab their shit to somebody who will then inform us. Not that I care or anything. You know come to think of it, I’ve never been to wedding. Damn, how is that possible?!? Oh well I digress

Another thing Tiny wants everybody to know is that Xscape will NOT be reuniting. It will never happen. Apparently LaTocha Scott registered the name Xscape without the knowledge of the other members. That shady move has inevitably ruined any hopes that the group would reunite and make some hot R&B music.

Don’t act like you don’t remember Xscape. They had a string of hits in the 90’s. Here is one of my most favorite songs they did.

1. By now I’m sure you’ve all heard about Falcon Quarterback Michael Vick and his "weed residue" that was found in a hidden compartment within a water bottle at the Miami International Airport. But, my question is—why is the highest paid football player in the league today, flying anywhere on public planes?

If I ever walked on to a commercial flight and saw Michael Vick sitting in first class, I would immediately stand up and demand that the flight attendant put me on another plane.

Not for nothing, but I don’t want to see millionaires flying with "common people". And to add insult to an already dumb injury, why would Michael Vick try to bring any fluids on a damn plane. EVERYBODY knows to not mess with the TLA. Is it just me, or is Michael Vick as dumb as a box of hair? Between the herpes rumors and his obvious love for the earth’s herb, it’s no wonder why he can’t take us to the Super Bowl. Oh and by the way Mike, those dark ass lips gives your away your very obvious secret!!

2. Is it just me, or wouldn't the rumored trade off of Vick for LA Raiders Randy Moss, Jerry Porter, and the 1st Draft pick, be a great trade off? After 6 years and only one playoff, its time to get some new blood in the Falcons. Someone with a not so prevalent weed habit should help too.

4. Every since DJ Drama’s unfortunate arrest two weeks ago, I’ve really been perplexed by his race. Is he White, Black, or Puerto Rican? According to the Fulton County Court House, his booking info at the jail listed him as white. But, then how do you explain his, obviously, black lesbian sister? The whole issue has me totally baffled. Though he may look white, something about his whole swagger says he’s a brutha.

5. Um Monica, you can deny all the rumors you want but at the end of the day your new album “The Making of Me” isn’t making enough dollars to make much sense. (That wasn’t really a question, but you get the point).

If Y'all would take a minute to see the bigger picture you would all see that Sohh Atlanta is attempting to break up the monotony of how blogs run.

Despite popular belief, Kelly Rowland's first single has NOT been confirmed as "Put It In (Work)". A lot of the popular blogs reported she'd be releasing a single on February 6th based on a link made available at the SONY Online Music Store.

Once I heard about the single I called my contact at Columbia Records and was told that the link was put up in error and after a label lunch it was still up the air which single would lead Kelly's sophomore effort Miss Kelly.



What you can count on however is Kelly making an effort to get out of Beyonce's shadow. Step one of that plan was seen when Kelly announced that she was working with publicist Keith Estabrook. In the past Kelly worked closely with Yvette Noel-Schure, but this time felt Noel-Schure would be overwhelmed and wouldn't be able to give her and her album the attention she needed.
