i came home last night after a shitty day at work...
and chris had installed a mantle on our fake fireplace!
we now have somewhere to hang stockings!

...we have a Christmas tree!

Tonight was a nice little adventure.
I've been working my ass off lately, and there's really no end in sight.
I don't have tomorrow off like I thought I did, and in stead of getting Monday off for my endo appointment, I have to be in 5-cl...luckily I have Wednesday off!

So tonight we went to get our Christmas tree...
we wandered around Big Lots and Walmart for the perfect assortment of ornaments and such...our tree will look awesome!
Then we hit Home Depot for the actual tree...between teeth chattering and hands numbing (winter has arrived, folks!) we found a great tree for < $20!

since I have to be in so damned early tomorrow we didn't get to decorate it yet...but definitely tomorrow after my shoot with Lauren! Yay!

It smells like yule!

now..sleep.

for those of you who didn't get one in the mail for one reason or another...




today wasn't as bad as id imagined.
had a couple customers that made me want to scream, but nothing too bad. we DID have a guy call at 10pm trying to schedule a walk in for TONIGHT. I explained that we close at 11 (not at midnight as he rudely accused) and we take our last appt at 930....but he screamed that he wanted to talk to my manager and yelled at her for a little while as she tried to explain that we weouldn't have time to take 8 children and 4 adults in the time we had left.
i bought myself a pretty sexy pair of shoes on my break...but it means i have to paint my toenails to wear them.. boo! heh. i also got my 5ft long santa hat, which is awesome! i dont think chris likes it though. :(

i did forget a funny story from yesterday!
on the flight home i sat next to a little girl of maybe 3 or 4. when we landed, she spotted a cluster of planes on the tarmac and pointed excitedly. her mother and i tried to explain to her that she was, indeed, in an airplane just like them. she just couldn't wrap her mind around that fact. it almost made her kicking me in the kneecaps for 2.5 hours worth the pain. hah.

that's pretty much it...i just finished wrapping a bunch of last minute gifts i got today, and now its bedtime!

i cant sleep...bah!
my eyes wanna close and im all tired-shivery..but when i lie down i cant sleep...bah!
christmas eve was nice...didnt make church AGAIN but its nice to see chris' family.
his grandpa and i actually had a nice little conversation about cameras. then he almost fell on me.
tomorrow ill see the same group of folks plus one. should be a good time.

presents in the am...im thinking of sleeping on the couch in the glow of the tree...that always used to make me sleep peacefully when i was little...

wish me luck...

this years list was quite multifaceted...

my dad got be a gorgeous steelers super bowl womens watch!
my one grandma sent me one of my nana's old rosaries, which is REALLY pretty!
my other grandma sent me a few things....a really nice pair of slippers, a new blanket for the bed, and a nightgown...now i havent worn a nightgown since i was 7...this one, wow, tops the gay cake. its grey fleece with black pola dots. on the chest theres a patch with a plaid scottie dog on it that reads "friends warm the heart". I'm going to have to take pictures of it...or me in it...hah! i dont know where she finds these things, but i love her for it.

now, my uncle was my secret santa on my dad's side...usually he's good for lots of goth, rock, heavy metal sort of things....i figured i was in good shape when a box arrived from him...inside was a silver cross with pink stones in it...don't get me wrong, it's beautiful...i just dont imagine him giving it or him looking at it and thinking of me. hah.

We opened all those gifts last night, as the pile for JUST us and Chris' mom was rather large. That's a whole new list...

His mom and her boyfriend got me 3 books I've been wanting really bad...Piratology, Anansi Boys (Neil Gaiman), and Son of a Witch (the sequel to Wicked)

Chris always surprises me on holidays, and this year was no different...my final tally...
-The Princess Bride DVD
-Gil Elvgren calender
-a camera case
-a tripod
-2 250 and 1 500watt heavy duty halogen lights
-a hersheys fondu pot that looks like the store in Time's Square
- a Mickey Mouse ice cream maker
- a 3 in one sandwich, grill, waffle iron
- a table top fountain that looks like a yin yan
- soft glo bear (he turns colours!)
- a refrigerator (that can also be a functioning vending machine) to keep juice next to the bed for late night lows
- a sewing machine!
-a wacom tablet so i dont have to fight with my half-assed mouse anymore!

I don't think I'm missing anything...we're still waiting to do stockings...man, I'm completely floored...I don't know where we're going to put any of this stuff, but I can't wait to see how it all works!

Next stop, Chris' uncles house for dinner festivities!
