So Defeated
Wednesday, February 7, 2007
So..the DTS I wanted to go on in Switzerland? I don't think that's going to happen right now, which is a shame. I still feel really pulled towards it, but there are so many financial struggles right now in my life. I feel defeated, like I should give up, but at the same time I feel like I shouldn't. Prayers on where to go from here would be nice.

Ed wants me to stay here, get a job and go to school. That's great, but not really what I want to do right now. I feel like I need to fully get away from Kissimmee, away from Florida, away from the US. Well, maybe not the US, but from Kissimmee and Florida at least. I don't know.

On a happier note: today's my birthday! I'm 20; no longer a teen, yay!!

FUN!!FUN!!FUN!!
Saturday, January 20, 2007
Ed's home for vacation this week!! Yay!! I've been hanging out with him all week, so that is my reason for not blogging these past couple of days. I'll write more about what we've been doing after he goes back to Iraq. Also, Esther came home from college this weekend so I hung out with her today. That was lots of fun. Write more later, Laura.

Sigh. I Miss Him.
Tuesday, January 30, 2007
So...Ed left this morning. He's currently in Atlanta waiting for his next plane to take off. I miss him so much, and it's only been a couple of hours since our last kiss!! Sigh. These past two weeks went by way too fast. We visited OCSA, which was okay. It was great for him, he really seemed to enjoy visiting everyone back there. I don't know, I liked seeing everyone again, but Ms. Cajigas. She kinda spoiled the entire thing for me, making me feel stupid. God, and she wonders why I never talked to her about the problems I was having senior year?? I'm sorry, but I still cannot stand to be in a room with her and it's been almost two years since I graduated! Ugh!

Anyway, Ed and I went to the mall one day and I applied at Billabong. Haven't heard anything from them, but I have to go back and turn in two other applications for Claire's and Starbuck's, so I'm gonna go back and ask for a status report. Ed seems to love the idea of me working at Starbuck's, so I'm going to try and really get that one if Billabong turns out to be a no-go. Also going to visit a couple of other stores and ask if they're hiring should I not get the others. I really like the idea of working in a mall. I could go shopping during my breaks!! LOL. Probably not the best way to save money though..eh, well. There is a food court so I'll be able to choose from a great variety of menus during lunch and dinner breaks. There's a Nature's Table for healthier options, right?

I'm gonna need a day to ride the bus and figure out approximately how long that would take. And to figure out which buses to take and where to switch off. I'm thinking the 26 from Poinciana to the Osceola Sq. Mall, and then the number 4, but I don't know if the number 4 goes all the way to the Florida mall. My change box is definitely going to come in handy for this!!

Let's see, what else did Ed and I do while he was here? Spent a lot of time with his family. They are so cool, I love all of them! I think they might be getting a dog too, Eddie wants one and all the girls want one. Eddie said he was going to the place where they have the dogs today to play with them, and I hope he had fun! Dogs are cool, but I've become more of a cat person having had cats my entire life. All my neighborhood friend's dogs all bit me too..not a great first impression of dogs, huh?

We took some portraits at Wal-Mart, those should be developed and ready for pick up at the end of February. We also went to Walden's and I got a couple of health/fitness magazines along with Seventeen. Also tried Red Lobster for the first time-it was good. I like the place; I think it's too bad I'll probably get to eat there only once every couple of months or so since my mom can't stand the place. We went out to a sushi bar last night, they had some awesome cheesecake for desert. Me and Sarah didn't really eat anything, though she probably at a little bit more than I did. I haven't seen Sarah since I quit Publix, so it was kinda cool to see her again. Found out we've got a few things in common-love of mountains, dislike sushi, don't eat a lot, etc. It's interesting how our lives are kind of becoming intertwined I guess. I don't really hang out with Ed's friends that much though, like Mike and Joel and such, but I do think they are pretty cool guys.

I think that's the end of today's blog..I have a couple of other things I wanted to share, but I think they can wait until tomorrow. God bless!

What a Productive Weekend!
Monday, February 5, 2007
Well, we went up to the Florida Mall on Saturday so Kaiti could get Kevin's Valentine's Day gift. I tried to get a job while that was being done, but my sister wasn't having it. I got a ton of applications, but I was only able to fill out one in person. . And that's only because they don't let applicants out the door with a blank application. The person from Human Resources, or the hiring manager wasn't in the store that day to look over the application, so I've got to call them back on Tuesday at 2:00 or 2:30. I also have applications from Starbucks (I haven't returned that one yet because I still have to answer the three open-ended questions.), The Body Shop, bebe, Charlotte Russe, Papaya, and Claire's (Haven't returned that one yet either, cause I got lost and couldn't find the store while we were there, lol.) Please pray that I get one of the job opportunities!

On Saturday night, I was able to go over to Esther's and participate in The Truth Project that Josiah is leading. And hang out with Esther. The Truth Project is really interesting, I missed the first video last week though. We're trying to set up some time this week so that I (and the few others who also missed the video) can go over and make that up, but we're pretty much hitting dead ends. I think Weds was good for everyone, until I remembered I'm going out to dinner for my birthday. How I forgot that is beyond me! Please pray that we can get that worked out in our small group, and that it continues to be amazing and allow each one of us to grow spiritually in Christ.

Also, I got all my references turned in for the application to Trinity College. Esther has said she returned hers to that admissions office, and I handed off the Church Reference Form to Pastor Karl. No doubt he'll get that done in a timely manner. As for the second Personal Reference, I had Sydney fill out that form; it's just got to be sent in to the right people. I found most of my outline for the testimony I have to write for the application; it's just missing one section, but I think I may be able to outline it again. Pray that I am able to do so!

Oh, and one last note: I had a tiny bit of Pepsi with dinner last night. I didn't drink much of it though, about 4 or 5 sips. I think I've gone without soda long enough to not crave it as much as I do water. That's kind of cool! I think it was mostly the caffeine shock that I didn't particularly care for in the Pepsi, but I can't be sure. I know for my birthday, I was planning have a soda with dinner, but after last night, I'm not sure now. I may just go with water, who knows?

Ok, so that's not the last and final thing I've got to say..sorry! I decided where I'm going for my birthday: Olive Garden! Xiomara says they sing for birthdays, but I'm going to tell them not to sing. I kind of feel that singing for anybody's birthday is really only appropriate in a large party setting with all of your friends and family, not just a family dinner out to a nice restaraunt. Pary for that as well!

Now, that really is all I've got to say for now so..God Bless! Love, Laura

Whatever...
Friday. 2.9.07 2:33 pm
So I am no longer a teenager and 363 days away from being fully legal. My birthday was pretty much like any other, except we went out to dinner at Olive Garden. My mom forgot the camera at home, so there's no pics, but I got a bunch of DVD's and a necklace. I now have all ten seasons of Friends, and two seasons of King of Queens. My necklace is really pretty; it's a cross with a pink rose wrapped around. I'll post a pic of that sometime next week.
I want a job. I'm bored as hell! Express has apparently rejected me, which is shame because I really would've loved to work there. It's probably one of my few favorite stores at the mall. Anyways, I still have to return the rest of my applications though I'm not sure when I'll be able to do that, though I'm hoping sometime next week. I could use some money!! I want to get a laptop and a webcam (for someone who won't stop bugging me about it...love ya anyways, though!) Oh, and I will still be saving for a car but I need those items too..
Oh, and I started a blog at ProgressiveU.org (http://www.progressiveu.org/blog/lwelizabeth) so I could enter the scholarship competition. The more reads I get, the more points I get, and the more points I get, the better shot I have at winning one of the scholarships. So click on the link okay??? And feel free to sign up yourself.

You Make Me Happy
Tuesday, February 13, 2007
So I posted a blog yesterday about some things that were bothering me. (Only on MySpace, and only open to my boyfriend.) I won't go into detail of what it was about, but I just felt really alone and kind of scared. I don't feel scared anymore, I actually feel a lot more at ease with everythinng that's going on right now since Ed and I were able to talk last night. (Babe: You have no idea how relieved I was in our conversation last night.)

Apparently he got the opportunity to play flag football yesterday. His team didn't win, but they did their best. And they are definitely going to crush the other team next time!! I have no doubt about it. Ooh...I just got a really cute gift idea!! Message or comment me if you'd like to know what it is.
