Sunday, November 30, 2008 Well well, the trip to Zoo Negara was fun fun FUN! Kee Cynn and I was stationed at the bears exhibit to help the keeper there. It was fun. Yes, we have to rake up leaves from the exhibit floor, yes, we have to wash bear poo poo butt hen lastly we got to feed the bears. THAT WAS FUN. Especially when you can make the bear stand up and lift his paw before feeding food to him. It was a crowd puller. Amazing day. We had free lunch and ice cream and everything else because we went under the Leo Club and we had funding for our activities and so explains the free food.
AND NOW, FOR THE PICTURES.
Firstly, pics from the A1 GP Race
This is the safety car. FERRARI!
Hi!
Zoo Pics
Playful tigers... Dont be dirty!
This is a Grizzly Bear! Damn freaking huge. This is the bear I fed. See how he's waiting for his bread?
NO this is NOT from the zoo. I just snapped this photo of a Mazda RX-8 which i spotted on the way back from the zoo. Comment! (9) | Recommend! Friday, November 28, 2008 You guys probably think that I was abducted by aliens or something because I didn't update at all since for the past month or so. Well, actually, I've been very very busy with my exams and all the assignments and presentations that I needed to do. But I'm free now, and back to posting.
Well, I went to the AI Grand Prix last Sunday for the race. It was superb. My friend managed to get us free tickets for seats at the grandstand and it was great. Yes, it was deafening, extremely noisy and what not but it was all well worth it! As you all would have guessed by now, I will say that I will unload pics but that never seem to happen dont it? Well I'm extremely sorry for that. Phone cable is somehow too far away for me to reach right now ( Yeah RIGHT! It's just behind me Xp) so I'm not gonna give false hopes.
Anyway, my next interesting thing to do is.... *drums rolling* Volunteer work at the ZOO NEGARA(National Zoo) tomorrow. I'll be taking the LRT from Tmn. Bahagia to Wangsa Maju and then a short taxi ride to the Zoo. I wanna take lots of pics. Yes, I take pics, But whether I upload them up here... Is a matter for another day. :P That's all for now,Hope it's long enough to make up for a whole month of entries (OF COURSE NOT!) Comment! (5) | Recommend! Friday, September 26, 2008 Cake Sense is where I'm working now. I'm working here part time for 2 reasons. 1, the CASH!! Everyone needs money... 2, I wanna learn more on pastry decorations. Cake Sense deals with cake (obviously!) , bread and also some pastry. I've been at the job for 4 days already. I'm currently enjoying it. But I tend to get irritated when there's lots of stuff to be done but I either dont know or not sure of how to get it done. It irks the F**K out of me, but I'm need to stay calm as I do not wanna lose this new job. The job has a good working environment and also friendly people so I'm coping well. I dont mind sweeping the floor and mopping the floors that much since I dont really know how to do everything yet. Plus the pay is RM5 an hour which is quite good already.
On another note, I've actually got loads of photos of food which is still in my phone ready to be uploaded but I'm so busy and tired from the job that I hardly use the computer when I get home. I have a week of holiday starting Sunday to look forward to and I'm going back to my hometown!! YAY! I cant wait to meet my GF (yes I have one, we've been dating for 6 months already, sorry for the late notice LOL) and go hang out with her the whole day long AND drive around town in a car.
DAMN I'm gonna have so much fun! I'll post a photo of us if we happen to snap a good one. Comment! (4) | Recommend! Monday, September 15, 2008 Seafood was in the list. My first thought when we were told what we're gonna do was, uggghhhhh..... the smell...... , but then everything changed when they brought in the lobster... yes ... LOBSTER!!! Then to me, all the smell is worth it.... BLODDY DAMN WORTH IT! EVERY SMELLY SECOND OF IT! It was good from then on. We fillet the fish(2 in fact) but still... I don't mind anymore.... We even had muscles and crabs to work with. When everything was done, everything was cooked , except the fish, and everyone enjoyed it.
Then in larder, we had vegetable cookery. Not that interesting to follow after lobster but it was fine. It made me enjoy vegetables more, especially fried aubergines. Love cooking....
PS: There are some asses in class which sometimes is a big prick in the ass but lets just ignore them shall we? Comment! (2) | Recommend! Thursday, August 28, 2008 For I just acquired my killing set!!! MUAhHAHhHAHhhHAHhahhahHAHHAH!
In other news, the other day in pastry, we did fruit fritters. It was fun and challenging at the same time. I enjoyed it. Basically, you do a batter, cut some fruits up, put in flour then dip it in the batter and then u just fry it. Simple.
Prepared fruits placed on a towel to soak up excess water then placed into the batter
Fruits being fried.
Some sauces were made in the process of all this to accompany this dish. Naturally, because it is, anyhow, a dessert. So some strawberry sauce, chocolate sauce and some vanilla cream was made. As expected, the end result is great.
Simple but elegant!
This is actually bacon with potatoes, eggs and onions which I cooked for my supper the other night. Just thought I would share.
I LOVE COOKING!
PS: To those people who tagged me, I'm so sorry, I'm kinda lazy to do tags. Comment! (4) | Recommend! Monday. 8.25.08 10:08 am Is a disgusting yet fun thing. I had to insert my hand into the ass on a chicken to dig out the innards today. Imagine that. O.o Digging and digging and more digging. It's like mining for gold, except that it's quite disgusting. Actually not that bad, I'm just exaggerating ( shit i forgot ho to spell, correct me pls). Next was trussing the chicken with treads, it's actually kinda like sewing it together so that everything holds firmly to get an even roast.
I had larder class after butchery. We did some potato cookery. Mashed potatoes, croquette potatoes, duchess potatoes, baked jacket potatoes, pommes lyonnaise and chateau potatoes. (pommes lyonnaise is actually saute potatoes with onions but the other words sounds more fancy, do the math).
Tell you what, I'll give you all some pics so you all can salivate over it. HAhHAhA.
Mashed Potatoes
Dutchess Potatoes
The preparation of display
These are everything that we've done in less than 4 hours
