Nope, maps.google.com does not work on IE. Too bad I use it so much. DAMN YOU, GATES!

Mainland... china?

^^From the previous entry's comment page... hahaha this made laugh so much and I don't know why. I usually refer to the rest of the U.S., nay, the continent as the "mainland" because I live on an island... Manhattan island. -_-,
So I really came by to say I finally cleaned my keyboard today for the first time since uh, ever. Unless you count dusting it with a special electronics duster thingy a couple of times a year. I pulled out the keys and it was crustier than a hobo's ass crack, but now I have restored it practically to its former glory. Now it just looks
gently used.

MY COMPUTER DIED!!!!
I have Vista (yeah, I know) and on Christmas Eve, it just stopped booting properly, so now I'm in the process of backing up my files before doing anything else. Will it be done by the time I wake up? (It's about
500 gigs 1TB worth of data.
Edit: Decided to back up my second hard drive too... this means sleep for me as it chugs along to the finish line.)
It took a few days, because I had to go out and buy an external hard drive (which was on my computer-related to-buy list) and I was using my busted laptop for my regular scurrilous internet activities, but now I'm finished and can get started. Hopefully, my desktop will be back by New Year's?

It only took almost two months, but I finally got my desktop back! WOW that didn't take a long time AT ALL.
In retrospect, buying a laptop (no matter how busted it was [and is]) definitely slowed down the progress of getting my computer back. A few weeks ago I was finally getting reeeeeeeeally tired of the limited capacity and resources my current laptop provides, and so I finally got around to trying to back up the rest of my files and stuff. Now to partition the HD and
finally install Linux (my original plan two years ago).
I better go soon, I MUST wash my raggedy hair tonight, for I can't do it tomorrow. (It's Chinese New Year time!)
P.S. Monaaaaaaaaaaaaay

Curiouser and curiouser... when I stop being as active on Nutang (based on my unique pages surfed) I get more popular???????
That means that I'm never around or not clicking that page to actually see my name on the list (less active means I mostly just browse people's sites and comment as opposed to clicking everything), so I'm just inclined to think it's a glitch or I won some secret lottery no one knows about ;P Anyway, has anyone else been randomly catapulted to "popularity" despite normally staying out of the list 99.9% of the time?
Jee -- I spent like half an hour waiting for my new hard drive to format and now suddenly it says 2% ????? THAT'S IT???????
I want to switch jobs :(
