I have worked all day since 11:30 AM. I think this is the first 8 hour day I've worked in my life. Tomorrow and the rest of today, once my TV and blogging break finishes around 11:30, I'll finish the book. I need to finish the book tomorrow, so I can start my last essay. By Sunday, the entire application will be rough draft finished and two pages of the Gemini zine will be done, along with 5 blogs. This is one busy weekend! I'm proud of myself, though, for being this disciplined. I'm not a big discipline person (I don't think any artist is).

I was trying to enlarge the font as some have suggested I do, but I can't find the "font button". I had a totally fun day. It was my first real day out; I want to the Craft Center at UMass. It was cool to see Paula, the director of the Center, who I've known forever. I'm calling my new zine Gemini (my sign). It's about the duality of me. How parts of me are very organized, creative, and awesome. Yet, other parts are chaotic, overstretched, and not so cool. I don't mind being self-deprecating. It's a good writer's tool.

I loved exploring a new art form. It was a good workout for my hands, too. I think I burned some serious calories. I spent around $10 to $12 on rough draft materials alone. It's more ezpensive than just writing a standard text and black ink zine with a cool cover.

I'm so tired, but I don't feel like I can afford to take a nap if I want to get everything I want to get done.done. Only about 3.25 things on my to do list of nine complete and it's past 5pm. I feel like the world is simply moving too fast today. But, oh well, it's Monday and I'm behind because I missed a week of life due to illness. At least my paycheck came. Shopping trip and dinner out with disabled people Wednesday! I'm looking forward to the break!!

I wrote, wrote, and wrote all day today and I was very productive. I usually write 4 or so hours per day on average. My schedule is write for a hour or so, unless I'm going to a morning event. Then I usually go out, even if it's just for minute. Then I return and write for a minute. Evenings I'll usually have a trip out or chill with my TV and Richard, my cat. Then I'll write again off and on until bedtime. I'm pretty prolific. Everyday, I blog at least and most days I write poetry or fiction, if not both.

Today I went to a Best Buddies Fundraiser. Best Buddies is a program that connects people with intellectual disabilities and those without them, who may be able-bodied or have some sort of other disability like I do, and fosters friendships between the pairs. I don't have much money now and I'm sorry for that as they are going to have a budget cut of $60,000 this upcoming fiscal year which I think is really shameful (but what does our government do lately that isn't shameful? God I sound jaded). I've decided, however, to help them using poetry if they agree. They have a visual arts program there I'm going to request that people make art and then I'm going to write poems inspired by the art that they make. Sort of like illustration but in reverse. That wasn't my idea by the way. That was my assistant's phrase for it. I figure I'll give them half the money for the zine and I'll keep half because I need money to survive. Basically, I make now about $150.00 plus benefits if I'm really devoted to writing on the internet. I don't have a real job. If I did, trust me, I would give them all the money.

I'm also going to volunteer to be a buddy. Hopefully with another writer because they have an artist program. I've never written with anybody I didn't know. I've also never written with anyone with a intellectual impairment. I don't know what they're going to write like because of course they are individuals, but I suspect it might be happier than my usual political snarky commentary (but who am I to judge? I don't know as I haven't met them yet). Perhaps its my own stereotypes of people like them that expects their words to be all happy and rainbows. I don't really like admitting that, but it's true. I just realized I'm guilty of the same stereotypes I yell at other people for having. Not a fun realization.

Well, I turned in my housing form and it looks good. I'll probably move in January. The landlord is nice, why nicer than the one I currently I have. My mom will be my guarantor. However, if I don't pay I'll be in big trouble with her. I'm going to send Celina to get my book Then she can type in the poem for me, which will let me finish the grant application. I have writing group tomorrow so I'll let them review it before I mail it in.

My writer's group completely changed what I'm going to send to "A Room of Her Own." for the grant, I really enjoyed the group, even if it is all the way in Springfield. Kenzie can stay over 15 extra minutes to accommodate my going to group- yay!

I asked my mom for money to get paper and mail the grant. I'm poor until Friday. Then I pay down debt, help a friend, and am poor again,

I'm going to win Nanowrimo 2008 so help me God! I realized that if I want to win, instead of failing as I did (badly), my other four attempts, I needed to attack it like a do any organizing project.

This is my schedule:
Nov. 1 to Nov 4- 500 words a day (Election is priority. Go Obama!)
By Nov 8- catch up by this day on the 4,666 words I am behind due to political organizing and work
Write minimum 30 minutes per day Nano; try to week 1666 words a day, catch up on weekends if needed. I aspire to be done the 28th, so I will have two "make up" days to complete the novel.
Attend write in's a Panara Bread in Hadley on Mondays at 7pm to be inspired. Although I don't know how I'll write there as I don't have a laptop!
