A shell exploded in front of the trap I was behind and made me deaf. I couldn’t hear worth shit but thought nothing of getting shot. I looked to my right and saw a soldier getting shot up into pieces. Blood was gushing out of his body and stomach. More bullets were tearing into him and his intestines started pouring out of his belly. Bloody and oozey innards were all over the sandy surface. A medic rushed to his needs. “Lt.!!!!!Lt.!!!!” I looked away from the soldier and saw Fred trying to tell me something. Lt.! I don’t want to die I’m only 27 I don’t want to die. I’m just to young!” I said to him, “Fred hold it together until we reach the beach. I need my lube back my rifles jammed you got it?!” He started fidgeting through his pocket. I saw him jerk back a little. He let out a blood screeching scream. I reached for his arm but right when I grabbed him he was jerked back and forth from oncoming bullets.
