Updating. Finally. I've been too bored, sleepy, busy, hungry to update in awhile.

You know... aside form not having anything to blog about.

I'm getting an apartment!
When..I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure they are going to try to pin the whole year on me
because of the fact that I'm a freshman. I hardly see how that's fair. Maybe I don't want to live on your damn campus. BEEEOTTTCHHH!!

but at any rate me = getting apt.

I propose a party/sleepover aside from the fact that I am 4 hours away from home. lol... no one really to get to sleep over up here. Well... Jess, but I dunno if she's gonna be up here so she's in limbo? oh well.

Anyway, let's have a party!

School's been okay.

I've never had to struggle with work. It's not hard, I don't think, jsut the fact that I never do it/ wait until the last minute to do it.

I work 20 hours a week. I figure that's a better use of the time I would otherwise spend doing nothing. At least I get paid. *dance* oh shit.. I can put my paycheck in. =DDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Thanksgiving break soon.
I'm leaving to come home this coming Friday.
Damn... where did the semester go?

And then... I'll be leaving the friday after to come back up for the game.

lol... I should be crying because this 6-7 page paper is due this coming friday. but this guy just made me feel better.


Dear class:

A reminder that we will not meet as a class on Friday October 29. We will however, conduct discussions on our recitation's BlackBoard site concerning the readings for this week. You will be expected to 1) post your own reactions to the readings, and 2) offer responses to two of your classmates' reactions.

Your long paper is still due on Friday the 29th. It should be double-spaced, with your name printed only on the first page, if possible. It should be emailed to me (in RTF format, not Word .doc format, please. See * below) at [email protected] by 5pm on the 29th. If you absolutely cannot email it to me, you may place a copy in my mailslot in Lane 134.

I will be available for office hours Tuesday Oct. 26th, from 9-11 am. Otherwise, I will attempt to respond to any email which I receive by 5pm on Wednesday. After that time, I will probably not be able to respond to any email until the afternoon of Nov. 1.

A reminder about the long paper itself - the assignment strongly focuses on questions of identity. You will probably want to reference Prof. Halfon's definition of identity, and focus the arguments in your paper around that definition. Remember, this paper is worth 30% of your grade.

About the long paper and the revision option: You have the option to turn in a revision of your paper the Friday of week 13. If you so choose, you will be required to turn in your original paper (as returned to you) with your revision. The revision must be a serious, substantial revision, beyond simple correction of spelling and grammar - you will be penalized for submitting a non-substantial revision. While we expect that the revision process will lead to better papers, and thus, better grades, it is important to remind you that the revision can make your grade worse.
Furthermore, the revision counts for only 2/3 of the paper's value. Consider the math: if you get a 70 on the paper, and an 85 on the revision your grade will be .33*70 + .66*85. Still a C+. You will be a happier person if you do a better job the first time around. I will be a happier person if you do a better job the first time around. Everybody will be a happier person if you do a better job the first time around. If you think that there is someone who will be happier if you blow off your first shot at the paper, they probably do not have your best interests in mind.

* To save your document in Rich Text Format (RTF): Use the Save As option, and choose the RTF format option. RTF is a non-proprietary format - Microsoft doesn't own it, which is simply a good thing; secondly, because Microsoft doesn't own it, it isn't subject to the typical virus devastation that Microsoft is too pathetic to prevent.

It's been a long ass time since I've updated, but there hasn't really been much to say.

I think I'm adjusted and well over my aftershock of being around people all the
time and things are going a lot more smoothly as I deal better with people.

grades are not where I want them to be, but I expect that to change.

I'm looking for an apartment to live off campus next year. Even my mom wants
me to move off. like... definitely (at least for the time being) she wants me to move off campus.

I'm feeling generally annoyed and alienated from everything.

It's really sad when you realize you have way less friends than you used to, because either you grow apart, the person changes, you change, or whatever.

I'm tired of being a thing of convenience. Either I'm your friend, or no, but I don 't have to put up with your shit when you don't wanna work with me on stuff, and y ou don't have to put up with mine. I'm just utterly tired of everything being "convenient". it's like no one can tough anythign out anymore. oh first argument between newlyweds = divorce, Rumors about your friend talking about you behind your back = end relationship. Both wanting to be stubborn = end of relationship.

Jeez, it's ridiculous.

I'm done with my bitch for the night, as I am tired after work.
