Siberian Tigers Could Face Extinction (Digital Journal)
Wednesday. 7.22.09 10:12 pm
Dear Diary,

According to the latest news (not so latest) , Siberian Tigers may faced extinction based of the new genetic study of Siberian Tigers. Studies shows that only few are capable of reproducing and often the actual number of wild tigers do not reflect the effectiveness of reproducing.

And thanks to human uncontrolable development, soon, our next generation will have an extra tiger sub-species in the extinction list.

Siberian Tigers are my favour sub species, because they are huge (the biggest in the Tiger family) and beautiful (fur) because of them, i started my love of tigers, when knowing the news that they may face extinction, the feeling was like a knife stab into my heart.

3 Sub-species out of 9 had extinct, Java, Caspian, and Bali tigers.

Not only illegal poaching driving the wild tigers to extinction, but self-fish human development too. Stop! and Save the Wild Tigers... they are earth citizen too!

Why the tiger, not the lion, is king of the jungle
Katie Scott
14 September 2009

Lions may face a challenge to the species' long reign as king of the jungle, after scientists from Oxford University found that tigers have the bigger brains.

By measuring the skull size and volume of a large sample of tigers, lions, leopards and jaguars, they found that the tiger has a bigger brain than its big-cat cousins.

"When we compare the two biggest species, on average the lion has a bigger skull than the tiger based on the greatest length of the skull," said Dr Nobby Yamaguchi, of Oxfords Wildlife Conservation Research Unit.

"However, the tiger has bigger cranial volume than the lion. It is truly amazing that tiny female Balinese tiger skulls have cranial volumes as large as those of huge male southern African lion skulls."

The tigers brain is, on average, 16 per cent larger than the lions.

It had previously been assumed that social species such as lions would have larger brains than solitary species like tigers, to cope with the demands of a complex social hierarchy, according to Science Daily.

Yamaguchi said: "Our results strongly suggest that there is no detectable positive relationship between relative brain size and sociality amongst these four big cat species, which shared a common ancestor around 3.7 million years ago."

The researchers are now planning to investigate what caused the variation in brain size among big cats.

Is such an interesting fact :D

I sincerely hope that this wonderful events will increase the Malaysian's awareness in dealing with Tiger Human Conflict... but i too sincerely doubt that do Awareness helps to save the crisis faced by the wild tiger or other wild animals?

A simple misunderstanding Causing a Lifeterm Threat (TIger Blogfest 2010)
Sunday. 4.18.10 11:21 am
Dear Diary,

In a far away land near Asia, where the wild used to live in a peaceful and harmony life, where the nature takes its cause, the strong overruled the weak, and everyone in the jungle obeyed to the law of nature.

As time passes by, the civilization had taken place, the human who now claim the top of the pyramid, the top of the ecosystem, had finally revealed their true nature, they started with a small expedition towards the jungle, and slowly they expand their number until they had finally threaten the peaceful and harmony life of the jungle.

Trees were chopped down to make space for the increasing population of human race, without thinking and considering the cost they have to pay for it. They ignored the crying jungle; they ignore the crying citizen of the jungle, because they knew they are the most powerful race in the Mother Earth.

As time passes by, when the jungle still able to tolerate with the destruction cause by the human race, the silent of the citizen in the jungle did not meant they do not mind, as the human race had finally crossed the boundary of their patient, nature had finally moving towards it punishment.

Just because we dont speak their languages, it doesnt mean we shalt ignore them. Tigers the jungle king and ruler, are the most patience king in the world, they back off every time the human exploit the jungle, everytime they gave in to the human until their land no longer belongs to them, their hunting ground, the place once they feel save no longer lived.
Who to blame when the tigers attacked the human? Who to blame when the tigers come into a close distance with human? Who else but us?

Xxxx

Deep in the jungle, meeting with the citizen is on going for days, as the threat post by the human are too much for them to handle.

Deer: What should we do? Our lake is polluted with the human dumping wastage; we no longer have clean water to drink.
Boar: yeah I agreed, I hardly get something clean to eat too, and the villagers farms are so tempting, especially their yam, look so nice for me to dig on.

Deer: Oh no you dont, you had causes too much problems to us, our king nearly killed because of your misbehaved.

Boar: Im sorry, I always thought the yam was for us, you knowK since the villagers had taken over our land, I thought is their way of apologizing. Im just hungryK.

Monkey: yeah yeah you had causes so much trouble!

Boar: Ah shut up, you too causes havoc to the village, and nearly got our King into trouble.

Monkey: whateverK. whatever, you are just so much troubleK.

Tiger the King: SILENT! This is not the time to blame who is at fault; we must solve the problem before the human being started luring into the deeper ground. We should negotiate with them. And I need volunteer.

The forest had turned silent with the shocking remarks make by the king, because they knew how cruel the human are towards them, everyone remain silent and dare not voice out volunteer, and suddenly, from a nearby lake, and young energetic sound had break the silent.

Turtle: Ill do it, Ill negotiate it with them, I think they wont hurt me, because Im a turtle, and I have my shell to protect me.

Turtle wife: No you dont, you will get killed!

Turtle: I wont, dont worry about me, Human is not that bad.

Turtle wife: butKK

Tiger the King: Well Done! Now we have a volunteer, we are so proud of you. I will lead my way to the far entrance and wait for your return.

The King, turtle, boar and other animals march to the far entrance and looking over to the turtle who slowly move himself to the entrance of humans village.

Turtle: Hello kids can I speak to your head village? I got something very urgent to discuss with them.

Kid A: Look is a turtle, a HUGE turtle, quick call our parentsK

Kid B: yes huge turtle, catch it catch itK

Kid C: but will it bite?

Kid D: (running) Mum Dad, everybody, there is a huge turtle in our land, come K COME!

Villager A: WowK turtles, good to make soup withK

Villager B: yeah, cook with herbsK.

Turtle: I want to talk to your head village.

Too bad, no one understands the turtle language, and in the end, the turtle sacrifices himself in order to protect the forest.

Turtle Wife: My hubby, my poor hubbyK. *snob*

Tiger The King: Im sorry for what had happened, I shall negotiate with them and asked for justice.

The tiger lurked into the village in order to have a negotiation with the village head but once he appeared in the village ,the villages were all too afraid of him and started shouting and getting ready to strike.

VIlager A: Harimau HarimauKK (TigerK Tiger)

Villager B: Harimau sudah datang, cepat tolong!!! (Tiger is here, help)

Tuk Kampung (Head Village): Apa? HArimau? Cepat ambikkan parang dan lembing. (What? Tiger? Fast get the machete and spear)

The villager march to where the tiger was seen, and together they work in group lurking into the forest to search for the tiger that invaded their land. From far end, the villagers heard the sound of shouting of begging for help. Quickly the moved forward tracing the sound of the crying.

To their horror, they saw tiger pawning a villager.

Tiger the king: Stop hurting me, I just wanted to talk to Tuk Kampung.

Villager: GO away u BAD TIGER, GO!!!!!!!! [while moving the spear towards the tiger]

Tiger The King: I just wanted to talk to your Tuk Kampung, we just wanted an explanation of why taking our land and killing Mr Turtle. Thats all I want to know.

Villager: HELP! The tiger is going to eat meK. HELP!

Tiger The King: No Im not going to eat you, nor hurt you, I just wanted my answerK

Villagers : Quick save him, the tiger is going to tear him apart.

Tiger The King: Im not hurting no one, just let me talk to Tuk Kampung! ROAR!

Villagers: Harimau dah mengamuk, cepat ambilkan parang. (Tiger is mad, quick get the machete)

As the misunderstanding getting deeper, tiger had to retreat to the deeper ground with his wounded arm as a result of the striking spear by the villager.

Tiger The King: I never understand the human, we must leave, because I foreseen the human will come into our land to hunt us down, because they are simply violent and never listen.

Tuk Kampung: We must call the wildlife department, because the tiger had invaded our land! We must have him caught and put into the cage!

Villagers: Yes, we fear of our children safety!!!

Silently in the night, the tiger and the other animals moved deep into the forest. As years passes by, the forest is being explore and trees been chopping down to give space for the increasing population and increasing demand of plantation (Palm Oil).

The fate of tigers and other animals no longer within their own hand, but the human hands.

It is our job to play a part in understanding the wild life, because we need the wildlife to balance our ecosystem, without them, one day we human too will extinct due to the cause of our own action.

Love the wildlife, Love the ecosystem, Love the forest, because is part of us Loving Our Self!

This is illustration only, no parties were hurt during this process, and sorry if it got into too sensitive, but it was meant to create awareness.

Abused Captive Tiger at A Famosa Resort
Wednesday. 5.26.10 9:52 pm
Dear Diary,

It been a hot story recently when video were put on to Youtube of A Famosa Resort worker abusing the tiger to take pictures together with the visitors!

This is a horrible act practice by them, look at the video, look at the tiger, it look so helpless, harmless and "dead"!! It have no strength to stay focus, and the General Manager of A Famosa Resort Allan Chee denied the abuse allegation.

Fine they can denied of drugging the animals, but they cannot denied how the worker treated the tiger. Look what had they done, pinch the tiger's nose, pull the head up when it is shown that the tiger needed the rest it deserve!, pull the mouth .... OMG... and kick my tigers on the face!!!!!! how can they treat my tigers like that! *HORRIFIED*!

The recorder girl was telling them to stop the photography session and said the tiger needed the rest, and the worker said, if no picture taken what do the tiger eat. And the girl said we pay the ticket!!!!

I hated zoo, i seriously am, but if i don't visit zoo, and no one do, the tigers and other animal will be starve... i bet the zoo owners r using this as a soft spot to make us visit! *MAD*

This weekend, as quoted from The Monkey King, there will have a "Public Awareness Campaign day-trip to A Famosa Resort on 29 May 2010 at 10:30am to advocate better treatment for wildlife living in captivity."
