Years ago, i enrolled in a noob Japanese class in my ex Uni, and it really brings back the memories of the classes each thursday.

My classmate refused to join me, because they think is stupid, so who cares about them, so i joined and met new friends, the sensei is a nice man, and today he still is, although he hardly remember who am i, although every year ill sent happy teacher's day and happy chinese new year SMS to him.

Anyway, today I wanted to share Day (nichi) of the month(getsu) in Japanese (nihongo) because i remembered my sensei challeged us in the class and no one can answered, so i told him, next week, I will able to answer it all... muahaha which i did. ~

Since i cant type hiragana here (nutang dont support it) ill just have romanji type

Tips to learn Japanese from my opinion ~ lol no scientific proven tho. Master both Hiragana and Katakana first before you get your hand on Japanese, because it will be easier for the later parts. I used to learn romanji first so the tendency for me to look at the words are often romanji, is so hard to switch my brain to look at it as hiragana/katakana. Which slower down my reading skill.

Learn some simple kanji, pick along the way you learn, some of the link provided, come with kana, kanji, romanji, and translation, so it often helps to learn abit :D

You can choose what to learn too, like you can change the flash card for hiragana only, or katakana only, or by level kanji… remember start with level 4….

Mostly it concentrate on the test itself (I think) and you can do the quiz too, by identifying the kanji with the correct meaning, often it is tough for those who do not know kanji. (Often I think that those that know Mandarin have the advantage, because you don’t have to memorize the kanji as in the meaning, only to know how it is read in Nihongo)

JLPT Level 4 Vocabulary List, you can click on to level 3, level 2, but stick with level 4 because is the beginner level. :D

It have a lot of vocabulary with meaning, is a list, you can learned from it, or print it out and stick at your bed side to learn.

After a 2 years break of not joining the fun of Bon Odori, this year i once again stepped my foots over the greenie grass of Esplanade together with sensei no musume tachi (teacher's daughters), since i do not wish to drive there, and since my teacher needed someone to accompany the daughters, so i tag along ~ win win situation :D.

We reached the destination around 530pm, and you bet, kondeimashita yo (was crowded), we walked around the field, and bought our RM20 coupons (dislike the system tho but i think was fair) and started wondering off the stalls, seems like a food fair than a Bon Odori for me, but since it had already combined the culture of Malaysian, so nothing more to expect right? Not much of edible foods, since it were too expensive, one small korokke charged RM5 @@'' TOTEMO TAKAI DESU! so i pass and bought myself a toriyaki (mada mada oishii) and mushroom and fish tempura.

We lurked around the area, wanted to try our luck at "Gold Fish Catching" but the crowd was horrible, so we passed, after our dinner, we went straight to the stage to enjoy the dance performances prepared by the organizer, dancers from Penang Japanese Foundation, from Japan and etc.

the 1st dance performance while i was there was Souran Bushi, Fisherman dance, i thought Hikawa Kiyoshi Souran Bushi will become the background song, but to my dissappointment it did not, seems like every years the songs never changed... YAWN.... after Souran Bushi was the dancers from Japan, and followed by the local Japanese :D yes the dances were nice, and the songs were okay, haha but it always have the Rasa Sayang song @@''.

Once the dances started to repeat, we headed to SGGS haunted house that gave me a good laugh. We were there queing and i found RM7 coupons, but later i found the owner so i gave it back, (am i stupid? nah!). The haunted house was not scary at all, and it smell so strange with all the sweat ! eww... When we walked into the haunted house, i saw students wearing all those clothes, and seriously is not scary! And there was this "Ghost" trying to block my way, i used my fan to move his katana aside and walked pass, and once im out from the haunted house , i cant stop laughing, so did my teacher's daugther. this gonna be the last time im going to the haunted house.

When the clock hit 10pm, the firework (hanabi) display for 5 minutes were shown, it were beautiful, but of course we can't compare it to the real Hanabi at Japan, but overall I'm happy. :D

Do u ever cried over a lyric? This is the only song that i cried over the lyric... it is so touching and so meaningful, but it make more sense if you watch the movie 1st ~ Cape no 7.

This movie alone is very funny, and very meaningful... is a mixture of languages, of Mandarin, Hokkien (dialect) and Japanese.

Whats more interesting is the director of the movie Wei Te-Sheng where he have to refinance his home and into debts in order to produce this beautiful piece of movie which grossed 2nd top film in the country's cinematic history, behind Titanic.

And the mode of promoting this movie was WORD OF MOUTH :D

Spoiler alert...."i Think"...
P.S: Suitable for those who dont want to watch the movie...

The movie setting was at a Taiwan small town, where a ex band singer came back after attempt at the town fail (i think), and obtained a part timer job as a Postman. There was a package that address to "non receiver add" which was suppose to return it to the sender at Japan. (a bit of history, Japan once occupied the land of Taiwan which is why alot of older generation Taiwanese speak Japanese... they called their mother Okasan mean mother).

But this postman instead of returning it to the sender at Japan, he opened the package. Inside of the package consist of 7 love letters by a Japanese teacher to his Taiwanese lover who was separated when the war end where the Japanese have to go back to Japan.

the 7 letters consist of his journey on board as well as the memories they have together. In the movie, the lead actor, read the letter one by one in different part of the movie with the voice over by Kousuke Atari (who acted as the Japanese teacher and Himself as guest of a concert)

One day the lead actress found out about the letters and urge lead actor to send to the recipient without any clues.... but of course happy ending always awaits this kind of movie.

The last scene of the movie where the Taiwanese lover saw the letters make me burst into tears.... it was so TOUCHING!

Im bad with actors and actress name, and i hardly know any Taiwanese actors or actresses....


Worth Watching :D
