Braces...
Wednesday, September 6, 2006
Today was the 7th day of school for the year. It was also the first time that I spent lunch time with Jamie and met a ton more people in one day than I did in a whole week. I bought a cinnamon roll from the cafeteria today and you're all probably thinking, "Who cares?", right? Well, I had to mention it because it was really nasty. The bread was all dry and icky. I'm never getting that again. But the thing is, the cinnamon rolls were really good at GHS. *sigh* Oh well.

Today in geometry, we used the TI-84(?) calculators that were connected to the teacher's computer. It was kind of cool because you could compete to see how fast you could get the answer in. He gave us really easy questions like "Is the sky blue today?" and "How many games will the Raiders win this season?". It took me longer to answer the 2nd one because I have no idea how good the raiders are.

My grandma is flying back to Hong Kong this Sunday night because her mom just died. I have no idea what day it was but the doctors had said that she was going to be dying soon. I've only met my great grandma once and I don't really remember what she looked like. My grandma might not come back though. That will be good for my little brother because she spoiled him a lot.

On Monday night, my dad put a stereo in my room so now I can listen to the radio no matter what I'm doing. It used to be in the living room but it was rarely used so I asked if I could have it in my room. There's not really any room for it anyways in the living room or the kitchen now.

I'm going to be getting braces tomorrow afternoon and I'm only kind of looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to it because my teeth will be straightened when they take it off. But I'm also not looking forward to it because its going to hurt and also make my lip protrude a bit. I dunno. And I'll also talk weird.

The Back to School dance is this Friday from 8-11pm. I was thinking about going last week but then Amber said that she wasn't going and I didn't want to be alone. But Jamie is going so I'm probably going to go. I already asked my mom and its going to be free for me because my mom bought this ASB sticker at orientation. I was totally looking forward to it awhile ago but then I remembered that it'll be one day after getting my braces.

NuTang

My very first entry on Nutang, how exciting! I still need to make a layout for this blog but I have some ideas. No entirely sure what I'm going to do yet, or my theme. But I'm thinking of doing a tables layout instead of a div layout. Anyways, enough of the boring stuff. Some info about me...

I won't tell you my name but you can call me Cammie or Cam for short, if you want. Either way, its still me. I'm a 15 year old girl who is currently a sophomore at DHS. I recently (recently being last Saturday) moved into a brand new home where I got my own bathroom. At my old house, I had to share with my little brother and grandma but no more! The new house is 2 stories (not that I'd settle for anything less) with 5 rooms and 3 1/2 baths. My parents have a room, I have one, my grandma has one, and so does my little brother. The 5th room is the room that my mom uses for an office. The bunch of houses are called Silvera Ranch and the houses are built by Pinn Bros. We got the million $ houses because the cheaper ones did not have room in the driveway for even 2 cars unless you use your garage. And we mainly use our garage as a storage/room for my dog. School started 2 days after we moved in so a lot of things are still in boxes.

My new school is maybe a little bigger than my old school. I used to go to a school called GHS. I kind of liked that school quite a bit. My new school is a lot older than GHS and a lot of things are broken or rusty. The school also has around 2x more students and the classes are a lot harder. Or maybe its just the classes. But good SAT scores are stressed really badly. The classes that I'm taking this year are French 2, Honors English, AP European History, Team Sports(did not want to do this), Biology, and Geometry in that order. So far, I like my english, history, and geometry teachers. The other teachers are just... okay.

On the very first day of school, I was kind of brave and made my very first friend here in this new city. I'm usually a very shy person but more on that later, possibly much later. Her name is.... Well, lets just call her Amber, k? And apparently she just moved here 1 day after me and living in the same bunches of houses as I am. So I'm happy about that.

Let's talk more about my family. I live with my parents, my grandma, my little brother, and my dog. My dad's a computer engineer and my mom's a travel agent. I have no idea what my grandma did when she was younger but when she was a child, her family were farmers. Its amazing how far we've gotten. Thank god! No offense to those who are really religious. My little brother is 7 years younger than me, which will make him 8 years old on October 30th. My birthday is August 4th, by the way. He's supposed to be in the 3rd grade but he got held back last year so he has to be in 2nd grade again. My dog is 1 year younger than my little brother. His name is Cookie and he is a tan toy poodle. (Not to be mistaken with a toy stuffed dog) My dad got him for me when he was 1 years old for my birthday. My dad bought him for only $100 because his old owner owned a lot of pets (I think, I don't really remember) and so he sold Cookie to us for only $100. Poodle puppies go for around $500-1000 now. Cookie is currently 7 years old so he's quite old in dog years. He's still really hyper because we never got him neutered. At our old house, it was like he owned the house and the backyard. But he hasn't really been let around the house too much since we moved because of all the boxes. If he tries to jump on something, it might fall and he'll hurt himself. So until we're finished unpacking everything, he has to sleep in the garage for awhile.
But enough about that, on to some other stuff.

I found NuTang through http://little-b.nutang.com. I loved the layout and the entries were just fabulous. Those were the first 2 things that I noticed. Then I noticed a button that saids Log In and one that said Join. And being the naturally nosy and curious person that I was, I clicked on it. I joined the forums and asked Dave for an invite code. And he generously gave me one. Yay Dave! And so here I am. Thanks for reading!

Papagoya
Saturday, September 2, 2006
Wow! Its hasn't even been 1 day since I've joined and I've already gotten 7 comments, 2 people who've added me as friends, and $0.075! Well, I guess it kind of has been a day since its the 2nd and I joined on the 1st but hour wise, it hasn't been 24 hours yet. And I also got 22 PPS from... Papagoya? It was sent last night and all I need is like a gabazillion more to get the item that I want from the NuStore.

I didn't sleep until around 3 or 3:30 this morning so I woke up at around 1pm. My mom was unpacking my clothes and I still wanted to go to sleep but I couldn't fall asleep. Oh well. I have only done homework for one class since I came home yesturday and I still have a ton to do. I'm a really bad procrastinator. Usually, if you click on the homework category, you'll get the same entries as when you press the procrastination category.

I'm thinking about deleting my GetABlog account. I know that most blogs only last for like 5-6 months and I don't want to be that kind of person who can never keep a blog. But its just that GetABlog kind of sucks. And I hate my layout that I made for that blog. I know that I can always create another layout but I'm having a bit of graphic designer block. And my getablog blog (not a typo) has already been open since last December.

My brother is currently bugging me to make ice pops with him right now but he doesn't make the flavored ones. He just wants to put water in it so all it is, is plain old ice. Why doesn't he just get ice from the ice depenser thing from the fridge, right? Well, he does but he finds making the ice pops more fun. And he doesn't just put it in his mouth to melt, he bites it. How he does it, I have no idea. He just does.

Yesturday, my AP European History teacher told us that we could buy online a used version of our textbooks. So the one that we bought can be left at home and the school on can be left in the classroom. I think that's a great idea because my locker is broken and won't close so its practically worthless. I filled out a card to get it fixed but there were a ton of other people who needed their lockers fixed. But anyways. I'm hoping that it'll be fixed by next Wednesday because carrying around 4 textbooks all the time is so not fun. But back to the history textbook. I told my mom about it and she was like, "Then get it." So a few minutes ago, we ordered one from www.half.com which is the site that my teacher told me to go to. Its a part of Ebay so its not like this totally random site.

Oh and by the way, sorry about the huge number of categories. I can't just like pick one. And sometimes coming up with a title is hard.

Edit:// I'm not sure if people do edits here on NuTang but here it is. I went to the NuTang Collage and near that bottom it saids, "Congratulations! You are currently ranked #1." Which means that I'm the most active member, for now. I've surfed 1026 pages. How that's possible, I don't know. But oh well. Yay me. But that leads into another thing. I didn't really join NuTang for the revenue. I think its great though. But I mainly joined because I'm a very competitive person. I like being on top and I especially love top lists. So I joined NuTang because I wanted to see if I could actually get the $20 and cash it out. And I also wanted to see how long I could stick to this blog. I used to have a website that was partially my personal blog and partially a web designing site. I owned that site for 5-6 years until the host closed down his site, which in turn, closed down my site. So I want to have this blog for at least 7 years. Weird, I know. But hey, its what I do.

Thanks A Lot, Dad.
Sunday, September 3, 2006
Like around an hour ago, my dad came home and he brought me this wireless phone thing. Kind of like a Bluetooth or whatever you call it. And he was like, I made sure it works. And I was like, What am I going to use it for. "For talking on the phone." Yea, dad. Because you know I spend every single waking moment talking to my friends. (hear the sarcasm) I didn't say that but I told him that it was of no use to me so he took it back. Its not that I'm ungrateful or anything but uh... He doesn't know me at all. Whenever he's home (which is like, what? 2-3 times a week?), I barely talk on the phone. Heck, I barely talk on the phone ever. I'm usually on the computer. So it would've been great if it was something to do with the computer or a digital camera that I've been asking for. But something for my phone... Great. And its not like I'm going to be using that wireless thing at school. Go to a local highschool right after school lets out. Do you see people with their wireless headset things? I don't think so. You see everyone talking on their flip phones and one in a while, you see one of those non-flip phones.

But enough of that. Last night, I got my blogmad credits up to 1000 just by surfing. But don't worry, its not like I spend every moment on Blogmad. I multitask whenever I surf. So its really easy for me to earn credits. I didn't stay up until 6am this morning though and I woke up at around 3pm. Look how I've wasted my mad.

I'm currently supposed to be doing homework right now. And I did. I spent the last two hours working on my math and science homework. Now all I need to do is do like 2 hours of history homework and do the cornell notes for biology. I do my history homework on my computer so I had to turn it on. (I had it turned off before so that I wouldn't be distracted) But I've only done the heading of my paper. Its not my fault that I'm such a horrible procrastinator. I really don't want to be. But there are soooo many things that are more interesting than homework. Like watching an ant crawl around my sink and then me squishing it. (I hate ants)

I don't mean to bore everyone but I don't think I've really talked about my history. I'll try to make this short, I promise. I was born in the Richmond District of San Francisco on August 4th, 1991. My parents used to live in a small apartment but when I was like 1 or 2, we moved into a 2 bedroom house. My grandma and my uncle came to live with us at that time. (I think, I don't really remember) I went to 4 different preschools when I was 4 or 5 because there was a lack of space at those schools. Then I started Kindergarten in a private school called St. Mary's. When I was 7 years old and in the second grade, we moved to one of my aunt's old houses because my brother was going to be born that year. This time it was kind of like a town house except it was a lot better design-wise. It was the private court type of thing where you had to pay an association fee because of the gym and the jacuzzi. The house had 3 rooms and was a bit bigger than the old house. It didn't have a backyard or a basement though but I did stay at my old school. 3 years later, we moved to a 2 story house that was in a city that I had never heard of before. A few of my (guy) classmates made fun of the name the months before I moved but I was used to them. Because they were like the bullies of the class/grade. (It was one class per grade) And they were like the ones who controlled practically all us girls in the class. But anyways. This time, when I moved it was 45+ minutes away from my old home so I had to switch schools. It worked out perfectly so that I would be starting middle school by the time we moved it. That year was the very first time I had ever gone to a public school. Before that, (yes I know, I was stupid) I didn't even know there was such a thing as a public elementary and middle school. Heck, I didn't even know that those grades were split up. And 4 years after that, I moved to my current house. I had to switch schools once again but it was only sophomore year so I was fine. I really wanted to switch because I wanted a new start to be who I wanted to be. Its already been 8 days in this house but I've already gotten used to it. Well, mostly.

I'm so sorry that my first 3 entries are so long. From now on, I promise to keep it shorter.
