Last night
Sunday. 3.11.12 11:07 pm
I have dreads. Long, beautiful dreads. They're pretty young, but I love them and take care of them and they have curly wispy ends and they're all different sizes and I get compliments on them on an almost daily basis. That being said, I intend on having dreads for a really long time.(03/13 edit: I sound extremely vain. I'm really not. I just take pride in my dreads. HAHA)

In my dream last night, I looked down in my hand, and there was one of my dreads. Just sitting in my hand. All curled up and sad looking. And I knew where it should belong on my head, so I instantly reached my hand up to the spot where the thing should live, and there was a couple inches of hair just sticking up, all frizzy. I ran to a mirror, and all of my dreads were gone. My hair was dyed an orangey red type color (I have never once dyed my hair in my life) and all of my dreads were gone. I almost cried, I started freaking out, asking everyone around me what happened to my hair. Nobody could tell me anything.

I did a little research on dream themes regarding hair today. According to one website, To have your haircut against your will represents you or some aspect of your personality that has lost a sense of freedom, power, or status. Some aspect of yourself is conforming or giving in.
To dream of a haircut that cuts off long hair, or too much hair represents you or some aspect of your personality that has sacrificed itself or lost power.

Later in my dream I was working at the lovely corporate hell in which I am employed, and there was a gentleman who had ordered a Massive White Chocolate Mocha and I was having the most difficult time attempting to make the drink. Multiple times I put in the wrong milk, put it in the wrong cup, couldn't find whipped cream, couldn't find a lid...meanwhile the gentleman is standing next to the hand-off plane staring at me and asking me questions about when is it going to be done and he's in a hurry and this and that. It was more of a nightmare, than a dream, really. In any case, relating that half of my dream to the also nightmarish cutting of my hair, in terms of that particular dream interpretation would say something around the effect of I am feeling powerless in my work situation and am losing a part of myself by being there? Something around there? Well, I could've told you that straight up. Thanks, dreaming life.

In other news, the other night I dreamt I was riding a kangaroo! I was escaping from someone or something and i came up to a herd (?) of kangaroos and I tamed one to help me escape. It was the softest thing I have ever felt. And super fun to ride! I rode on its back, not in its pouch, in case you were wondering.

The night that I dreamt of riding a kangaroo, my lover dreamt that I was complaining about only having five minutes to get to work.

Punctuality is perpetually an issue for me. How astute of him, aww. ;)

Good night!
