Broccoli, Tomatoes Slow Prostate Cancer

A little more lush green and bright red on your dinner plate may make all the difference in the world when it comes to prostate health. According to a new University of Illinois study, eating tomatoes together with broccoli can slow the growth of existing prostate tumors, as well as cut the risk of being diagnosed with prostate cancer. Researchers found that men who followed a diet including 1.5 cups of broccoli and 2.5 cups of tomatoes, at least three days a week, experienced a 30% lower risk of prostate cancer than men who ate less of the two antioxidant-rich foods. A supplementary study of lab mice found that compounds in broccoli and tomatoes can significantly slow the growth of prostate tumor cells.






What This Means for You
While consuming tomatoes or broccoli alone has been shown to cut cancer risk, the current study highlighted the synergy of the two whole foods in combination.

As some of you may have already guessed, I am a 24 fan. I like the show because of the action, intrigue and Jack Bauer. I like his character and how he NEVER dies!!! I also think it is so ironic how he always shows up just in time to save the day.

I am surprised that the show was not nominated for a golden globe award but Greys Anatomy is a good show too.

I am thinking of changing my theme and changing my style of blogging. I want to blog about my point of view and how I see things. Anything from news to pets to shoes to... you name it! "Perception" is the key. Everything depends on the eye of the beholder. What I see may be different from what you see... Sounds interesting enough for me. Therefore I will be working on a new page.

I am trying to figure out the best way to get my pictures on here. I was going to use photobucket until I read the FINE print. It says that all photos uploaded to photobucket belong to them. So they can take my photos and sell the for money without me even seeing a dime. Now my pictures from this trip are not of professional grade but I still would not want to see my picture in the home of someone I never met.

I think I may just post it in the gallery. I did it yesterday and I was just about done. Instead of hitting save or something I clicked "delete this album". CRAPP!!!!!

I will get it together soon. Sorry guys.
