Who believes that flirting is cheating? I personally believe its unfaithful, but is it really cheating? What is considered cheating?

So many things factor into that question.


How serious is the relationship? Would it bother your significant other if they knew you were flirting or are they comfortable enough to not be bothered? Why are you flirting? If you're flirting with someone and have feelings toward them it could be considered emotional cheating. If you just like to have a good time with someone and there are no romantic feelings involved then I don't consider it cheating. I like to joke around with the hot UPS guy that does pickup where I work. It's totally harmless and that's the only time I ever see him. Some MIGHT consider it flirting, others might see it as being really friendly.

Such a loaded question, I never know how to answer it.

It kind of is cheating because who knows what it could lead to. Some people consider talking online to another person without your partner knowing cheating+.

i think it all depends though. some dont think flirtin is cheatin because its jst merely words or they'd believe it to be harmless flirt. some will associate flirtin as cheatin. n wht atlmuzikfanzinc said is true as well. i think it all depends on the level of trust u've got on ur partner.
ppl often associate cheatin wth guilt.
to me cheatin would means that u're doin somethin behind ur partner's back without his knowledge n this something behind ur partner's back that u're doin involves gettin intimate with another person besides ur partner.

I can agree with that. ^ Sounds reasonable, though you know jealousy doesn't allow for reason, sometimes.

It's smarter to just...not.

Some people flirt unconciously.

That'd be me.

But I think any cheating would have to be at least somewhat conscious...unconscious flirting isn't really the type in question.

Flirting is a gateway. A slippery slope. Etc. Harmless... at first.

I think in general it's not cheating as long as your partner knows and is okay with it.
