I'm torn between two states: California, land of sun and bikinis.. New York, land of.. abunch of buildings.. and.. bluetopaz?

California!!! San Francisco is beautiful! The people are very chill. NYC is just... dirty. And crowded. And crowded. And dirty. I think coming from Texas you would feel... trapped. And the weather sucks. Unless you come to Harvard. Then we can hang out! Boston is not as dirty, but the weather is similarly crappy.

With that said, I think California reigns over New York, as comforting as the thought of bluetopaz protecting the streets and villagers as it may be. And by California, I specifically refer to Southern California. Contrary to Zanzibar's proclamations, San Francisco, in many respects, is as dirty as New York. Furthermore, SF is filled with self-righteous homeless people. Example: I've heard of numerous first-hand stories of homeless people spitting on passerbys for not tipping them.

What is this! I have never been spit upon by a homeless person in San Francisco! :0

Uh, San Fran has crazy hills. The streets make you gasp and gasp and gasp until your mouth is dry like desert and then you have to keep yourself from falling off the sheer cliff-like other side of the hill.

Ok, I'm exaggerating. But the streets are VERY hilly and steep. No idea how people park sideways up those hills...crazy...even native SFers I know can't.

I think Silver-dot- roaming the hillsides of NY should be some extra comfort

NY's homeless, the worst they can do is stink up the whole subway car with an odor so rank that they will have the entire car to themselves.

SF otoh is so smug they love the smell of their own farts

As tempting as moving to London to eat curry with Kuri would be, I'm not gonna'. 'Cause.. I'm not. I may be moving somewhere outside of Cambridge for a year if I decide to defer admission to Harvard, so the debate must continue!
