"Where do the homeless bags go?"
Tuesday. 8.19.08 11:33 pm
Today I worked 11 hours. It was sweet. Our team unpacked all of the purses and then re-sealed them sans packaging. Coach believes in a lot of useless packaging. However, now I know a lot about the bags that we carry, which is handy for tomorrow: cash and product knowledge training! I hope I exist in the company directory tomorrow. I didn't today (which means I didn't have to punch out or anything muhahaha).

After work I walked to the bus terminal to try and get a schedule... and they were all out. Looks like I'll have to go online tomorrow to print out some maps. I'm taking the bus on Friday. Better mark it on your calendars. Taking the Mississauga bus solo.

As I was walking out to meet my Dad, there was paramedics and 3 people smoking a joint behind the column between the doors... really classy and not related. The paramedics were not smoking up. They were wearing sunglasses and trying to be "cool" paramedics. Sunglasses don't save lives. People save lives.

When I got in the SUV, my Dad started a mini-rant on my future. Later on the evening he came to terms with it and supports me. Thank goodness. I'd hate to not include him in my Thank You... list. "Thanks to all my family, except Parental Unit #2. You know who you are." Harsh.

I recorded a few things today, but nothing you can see yet. Patience is a virtue! And I have to wake up early again tomorrow! Hooray! Good Night!

P.S. I almost forgot! I'm planning on going to the Fan Expo on Saturday to perform at the Anime Karaoke Contest. Have to get my name out there somehow and network with the other countries. Err... and the otakus. I'm thinking I'm going to sing a song that's not even from an anime. Just to mess with their heads. But it's an awesome song and totally danceable. Plus it's in a genre that isn't all stereotypically anime vocal-esque. Maybe I'll post it tomorrow. Mmmm... yes. A musical preview of this weekend tomorrow. Plus some Japanese studying.

Apology
Saturday, August 23, 2008
Sorry I didn't update yesterday. I finished work at 6, ate dinner, and was about to post when I passed out in my bed at 8. I woke up at 9 today. So much for updating. I got my hair cut and colored around noon and had a lovely chat with my hair dresser. She cuts the hair of a woman who's husband is a producer, so she'll try to pull some strings.

I've completed the music for one of my songs... now it just needs lyrics. I'm working towards a theme, but nothing good is coming of it. I checked out some online ads for musicians and sent in my stuff. Hopefully I'll hear back from people soon. I also just got a myspace (I had one a long time ago, but now I'll have a serious one) and I'm going to upload songs when I feel that they are good enough.

I had a heart to heart (or in this case, a head to head) conversation (confrontation) with my parents tonight about my future. They understand where I'm coming from but they really want me to have a safety net (get at least a college diploma). They also want me to be appraised (like I'm some piece of jewelry) for my talents to see if I can truly make it in the music business (fair enough). Plus I have to write a budget. That's what I'm going to do tomorrow. That, and I'm going with my brother to the Sci-Fi convention. We'll see how that goes.

Turn up your volume!
Wednesday. 8.27.08 12:25 am
Hey! Go check out my new song on my myspace! It's a cover, yes, but it's AMAZING. I'm hella proud of this! It's a cover of Sarah Slean's 2008 single Get Home done on guitar with vocals. It's quiet, sweet, and just all around fantastic. Enjoy! I also made a video that has louder music. But it gets a little fuzzy at the loud points. Check that out too.

Work today was great. I sold a lot of things, everyone was in a great mood, lots of laughter... it was just good.

Life is just good.

Good.

Well, would you look at that.

I made my first dollar today at NuTang! I'm also breaking into the Top 25 Most Popular Members! I'm also stroking my massive ego! I'm a jerk, aren't I?! Sorry, I'm just excited. I have never got so many hits on a site before in my life. Thank you to everyone who made this possible. You all rock my proverbial socks. Gah, I'm such a newb.

Anyway, I've changed some photos (as you probably saw when you clicked on the Home button) and added some more profile info so you can get to know me a little better. Add me to MSN if you're feeling adventurous! Sign the guestbook as well (I'm looking at you, Facebook people!).

Tomorrow is another day. Work starts at 10 and goes on until 7. Today I was working in Men's. Men fall into two categories when it comes to shopping. There are those that know what they want and go for it. Then there are those that have no idea what they're looking for and they need someone to help them out. A man came into the store today falling into the latter category. He picked out most of the clothes himself, but he had no idea what he was looking for size or fit wise. I taught him about the different styles and fits we have at BR and what would be best for him and why. When I was through with him, he had a new wardrobe for Fall. Mission accomplished. I love dressing up people. Looking good is feeling good.

One day at a time
Sunday, August 24, 2008
First things first! Thank you for all of your well wishes for the start of my career and upcoming gigs! I really appreciate it! I'm starting to get better at using my Garage Band recorder. The latest use of it went towards recording another Japanese cover in piano only. The song is called FAKE and it's got an awesome jazz feel to it. I sent it to the volunteer orchestra. You can listen to it if you so desire:

FAKE - Edward

I went to the Fan Expo today and met up with my quarter-century old brother and his friends. We walked around, laughed at some bad cosplayers (there was a fat Iron Man with elephant toe. Not camel toe, ELEPHANT TOE), marveled at the booth babes, looked at booth merchandise and haggled with merchants and got some free stuff (comics, poster holders, Ice Breakers), and played some Rock Band.

I kicked serious at singing the songs that were selected in Rock Band. I drew a crowd each time. Especially during Ballroom Blitz. It's like that song was made for me. The flamboyant vocals, the fun tambourine part... good times. I bought a CD single from Japan for $5, which is a steal in comparison to Pacific Mall. I got home, recorded a song that I'll post later on, and worked on my myspace. There's no songs on there yet, but if you want to look at it, you most certainly can.

My future is still a source of pain for the family, but we're just going about it one day at a time. My brother is my biggest fan though, so that's a nice comfort. I have a gig set up for August 30th at a cafe/art gallery, and the symphony has received my files, so I should hear back from them soon. I'm putting myself out there and examining my worth, just as planned. My parents are pleased about that at least.

I'm working tomorrow from 9-6 and Tuesday from 10-5. I have an orientation at 8:00 in the morning on Tuesday. I'm planning on coming for a bit and then sneaking off to work. If that's possible of course. More updates tomorrow!

As Luck Would Have It
Friday, August 15, 2008
If you all remember my last post, I was supposed to go see a live show tonight. That's not happening because I forgot that my mother is having her girl's weekend. That and it's raining, so my Dad needs his car to get to work. I'm without a car and I'd have no way of getting to the show on time, so no show for me. I hope there's a good turn out for Alana. That girl is funny.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Chad (my manager at Coach and friend) invited me out to a gay night at Zelda's with a bunch of people from the mall. Should be fun, if I can make it. It is also my last day of work at Banana Republic tomorrow! Working every day this week has left me with little time to recover. At least I have Sunday off before I do it all again at Coach. But I'll probably be spending my day recovering from the clubbing.

I wore my outfit that I plan on wearing in my video for the H&M Contest today at work so I can get a critique. I got a lot of great responses, so I'm sticking with it. I've got a great fashion tip, a fabulous outfit... now all I need is to think of a question to ask Tokyo's hottest fashionista. Since I'm not going out, I'll be working on this tonight, so keep your eyes out for a video of me!
