Young Buck Keeps On Bucking The World! Plus, WTF? Jeezy, Lil Wayne, and Jim Jones Diss Atlanta, NYC, and Miami??
Friday. 2.23.07 3:09 pm
Ok, so Young Buck’s new video from his upcoming CD Get Bucked was released yesterday and to my fucking surprise, I actually like it. I’m sure you all know my high standards I have for Hip-Hop by my various posts. When I heard about Buck’s latest lyrical project, I immediately dismissed it, thinking that after the beat down he served to an Atlanta DJ would permanently sideline his career, at least as far as Atlanta was concerned.
However, Buck has come out swinging for his sophomore album with G-Unit. As previously reported by my dude Amani, over at myurbanreport.com, Get Bucked was filmed in this great city. Being a former marching band Tuba player, the tuba beat is fiyah.
I think the video is hot. Could Buck actually have a chance at securing a platinum album with this new track? I don’t know, only time will tell.
Check it out and tell me if it’s Poppin or Floppin?
Moving Right Along...
My co-worker and fellow blog writer Jolene “Foxylady” Petipas posted the new “Street Dream Tour” that will feature Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, and Jim Jones that will launch in Charlotte, NC on March 3 and will wrap up in Los Angeles on April 29. But what I want to know is why in hell aren’t they coming to Atlanta, NYC, or Miami? They are scheduled to hit Macon, GA on March 18th but who’s driving all the way down to Macon. Based on Jeezy’s track record, he’s not good at concert appearances (oops did I say that out loud?) so I know I’m not driving down there.
And furthermore how full of themselves they must be to call it the “Street Dream Tour”. I don’t know about you but this wouldn’t be my street dream. My dream would be Jay-Z, Nas, and T.I. together on a tour. Or Ludacris, Outkast, and The Fugees would be hot too.
Is anybody buying tickets? STREET DREAM TOUR DATES
If you could pick any artists past or present, who would you pick to be in your street dream tour?
Young Jeezy And Corporate Thugz Forming A New Group USDA!!
Monday. 2.26.07 12:29 pm
Ok, so I got this press release, on Young Jeezy from his company, Corporate Thugz Entertainment. Since some of you feel that I’m a hater on the southern prince—Jeezy, I’m posting this information on SOHH Atlanta. See Nick I don’t hate on ya boy all the time!
Multi-platinum Def Jam recording artist, Young Jeezy, asked visitors of his label's website (www.corporatethugzent.com) what they wanted to hear next from him and his camp. The poll, which was conducted over a 3-month period, returned an overwhelming response for one project: USDA.
Now, Mr. 17-5 is back in the lab cooking up what could be the best rap group collaboration since NWA. Jeezy has been in the studio around the clock with his two counterparts, Atlanta native Slick Pulla, also widely known as the Trapublican, who made his debut on Jeezy's first album, Thug Motivation 101, and Panama City's own Blood Raw, who has been creating his stamp from the
streets to the stage as Mr. Florida since 2000.
Young Jeezy, Slick Pulla and Blood Raw (USDA) are finishing up on the album, which is slated for release in April 2007 on Corporate Thugz Entertainment/Def Jam. Tentatively entitled "Corporate Thuggin", the album displays each MC as a different representation of southern Hip-Hop, but together they illustrate that Hip-Hop is not dead but it in fact lives in the South. The first single "Check" was introduced at Jeezy's Platinum party in Atlanta and was a certified crowd favorite.
The Snowman has his hands full these days. While putting the finishing touches on this album, he is also preparing to hit the road with Lil Wayne and Jim Jones for the "Street Dream Tour". And, he's just wrapped the videos for his next two singles ("Go Getta" and "Dreamin") off his already platinum sophomore album "The Inspiration".
I cant knock the kat for hustle. Make the money, don’t let the money make you!
In case some people don’t know who or what Corporate Thugz Entertainment is all about. Here’s some more info for you.
Corporate Thugz Entertainment was formed in 1998 by Young Jeezy and childhood friend Demetrius "Kinky B! " Ellerbee with one goal in mind: "TO PUT THE GANGSTA BACK IN MUSIC and TO SET THE STREETS ON FIRE"! After selling over 10,000 copies of "Come Shop With Me", an underground album released in Atlanta, Young Jeezy parlayed this accomplishment into an artist deal with Def Jam Recordings. Then, with mind-blowing sales of Jeezy's special-edition Gangsta Grillz (DJ Drama) Mixtapes, a Top Ten debut on the Billboard charts with group Boyz In da Hood, and platinum sales of his commercial release, Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101, Corporate Thugz Ent attained a very lucrative label deal via Def Jam. Today, CTE is poised and ready to move to the forefront of the rap world as the one of the premiere imprints in the music industry. For more information on Corporate Thugz Entertainment, please visit their website www.corporatethugzent.com.
Talk to y'all lata
