Things We Missed In Vegas: Lebron, DWade, Diddy,T.I. and many more party
Wednesday. 2.21.07 9:11 pm
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas right? I sure hope so, cause I’m on a mean streak right now…a bad one. “Your flight out of JFK (NY) got cancelled,” the Delta customer service lady told me over the phone last Thursday (Feb.15). Thankfully, a shuttle flight was slated to leave Laguardia (NY) a bit later that day. To make a very long story a bit shorter, me and my boy Vegas got delayed 6 hours in Boston, arrived in Sin City around midnight, settled for a purple Lincoln Towncar rather than our reserved Cadillac Deville and later downgraded only to get a lime green Ford Mustang. Come…on! Needless to say that we missed the Boost Mobile Zo & Magic 8-ball challenge by the time we had settled in.

For the record, the pic above doesn't do Melinda Williams justice. I saw her at the MGM, and she was looking gooooorgeous. After a few hours of rest, it was time to work. Unfortunately, Robin Thicke got stuck in Cleveland, so the interview was cancelled. I was hoping his wife, Paula Patton would be with him. With no Thicke in sight, it was on to shadowing Rich Boy for an upcoming special edition of Behind The Grind. Hoping to get some “60 Seconds” under our belt, we then headed to BET’s Hip-Hop Gaming League event. Thankfully, we got interviews done with Ciara, Mims, Doug E Fresh, Debra Lee, Big Tigger and Keisha Knight-Pulliam aka Rudy Huxtable. I even think I saw Murs walk the red carpet with some nappy ass hair. Nobody but me knew who he was.

Thankfully, our Melyssa Ford interview turned our luck around. We then got dope interviews from Slim Thug and the Boss Hogg Outlaws and the homie Young Buck as well. Keep your eyes peeled for some new “60 Seconds” and “Sohh Focused.”

At the end of the day, the constant traffic and interview delays prevented me from going out every night as I initially intended. So aside from that Dwayne Wade Sidekick 3 party, not too many events were attended. I missed Beyonce and was actually slated to attend that event where The Game and Buck had a near incident. Shouts to BET, Interscope,W&W, StrategicGroup, 4Sight Media Relations, Media Saavy PR, Pierce Mattie Public Relations and …I hope that’s it. If I forgot anyone, please forgive me. With that said, here are some more of the events you and I missed in Vegas.

Young Buck Keeps On Bucking The World! Plus, WTF? Jeezy, Lil Wayne, and Jim Jones Diss Atlanta, NYC, and Miami??
Friday. 2.23.07 3:09 pm
Ok, so Young Buck’s new video from his upcoming CD Get Bucked was released yesterday and to my fucking surprise, I actually like it. I’m sure you all know my high standards I have for Hip-Hop by my various posts. When I heard about Buck’s latest lyrical project, I immediately dismissed it, thinking that after the beat down he served to an Atlanta DJ would permanently sideline his career, at least as far as Atlanta was concerned.
However, Buck has come out swinging for his sophomore album with G-Unit. As previously reported by my dude Amani, over at myurbanreport.com, Get Bucked was filmed in this great city. Being a former marching band Tuba player, the tuba beat is fiyah.
I think the video is hot. Could Buck actually have a chance at securing a platinum album with this new track? I don’t know, only time will tell.
Check it out and tell me if it’s Poppin or Floppin?
Moving Right Along...
My co-worker and fellow blog writer Jolene “Foxylady” Petipas posted the new “Street Dream Tour” that will feature Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, and Jim Jones that will launch in Charlotte, NC on March 3 and will wrap up in Los Angeles on April 29. But what I want to know is why in hell aren’t they coming to Atlanta, NYC, or Miami? They are scheduled to hit Macon, GA on March 18th but who’s driving all the way down to Macon. Based on Jeezy’s track record, he’s not good at concert appearances (oops did I say that out loud?) so I know I’m not driving down there.
And furthermore how full of themselves they must be to call it the “Street Dream Tour”. I don’t know about you but this wouldn’t be my street dream. My dream would be Jay-Z, Nas, and T.I. together on a tour. Or Ludacris, Outkast, and The Fugees would be hot too.
Is anybody buying tickets? STREET DREAM TOUR DATES
If you could pick any artists past or present, who would you pick to be in your street dream tour?
Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition.
Barack Obama
Someone had posted this quote on twitter, and I was trying to get a deeper understanding of what Pres. Obama was trying to say. I know this could mean a lot of things but I just wanted to hear what others think this quote means. I was thinking its shows that you have some type of ambition in life. It might mean something else to another person.
