In January of 2004 I chatted a filipina lady. Not much was really said but she seemed nice so we exchanged email addresses. Three weeks later on Febuary 1st, I got an email from her saying that she would like to chat again. This being my birthday, I was in my usual b-day dundrums and feeling very alone. I thought it was some sort sign that she chose that day to email me for the first time. She had no idea it was my b-day. It turned out we had a lot in common. And it didn't hurt that she was so beautiful. Anyways I started calling her Destiny. Even joked that someday we would name our daughter that. Over the next few months we grew closer or so I had thought. I trully believed that she was my destiny. There were times though that it seemed she was hiding something. It turned out she was talking to at least 4 other men and not just me. She was doing this in an effort to get money out of us. Although I never sent her any, I came very close. I even contacted a bank in her country and checked into making deposits for her. She was even engaged to one of the other men, or so he thought, because during this whole time, she was actully dating a filipino guy. The one lesson I learned from this whole experience, is that there is no such thing as destiny or at least my destiny is to surfer my lot in life alone.
