there's more things involved...
in racing....there's the estimation of how much fuel a car may need to finish a race, hence strategy...the car is built by a team...hence teamwork...whoever goes around the track a certain number of times before everyone else does....a winner....you can make the case that anything can be boring...teamwork,strategy, and the want to win....i think i described a competition we were in don't you think? robotics maybe...racing may not spark your interests, but the underlying principle of racing is true for a good deal of sports....even video games
