Has anyone ever been to a car auction before? I went to one yesterday for the first time. It was interesting. A large lot of cars you could walk through and look at. Then they drove one by one into a garages where you were sitting and you bid on them. Highest wins. The auctioneer was pretty cool. Your stereotypical announcer speaking fast and quick and loud and pointing and staring at bidders. I was deathly afraid to fix my hair, or scratch my ear out of concern I would place a bid for one of these vehicles. Not that that would be a huge investment as most cars went for around $400. Actually one went for $100 and one car for $50! Now mind you these were not top of the line cars, nor were they middle of line, and in most cases these cars were so far doen they would not even see the line.

Though they all did run, because they drove them into the garage to bid on them so at least you knew the car moved. I was waiting for one to die right on the bidding floor, but to no avail. It was fun, though boring because I went with Brian and his friend Adam. Adam was going to buy this car, we looked at it and he wanted it, said he was willing to pay $1200 for it. It was car #73. So we wait in the room for 72 auctions to go by, took a little over an hour 15 minutes. His car came up and the auctioneer says we start the bidding at $1200, silence, $1000, silence, $700, silence. We look over at Adam and are like are you buying this car or what? And he says "Umm... no I've decided not to get it." What?! You made us wait here for hours so you could get this car and then you don't even want it? Anyway on the bright side you did automatically get entered into a drawing for 4 prizes of $25 each. I didn't win any of the drawings... but the possibility was still there.

I saw Spiderman 2 the other night. Actually Tuesday at midnight for the first showing! It was really cool. I want to see it again, in my opinion just as good if not better than the original. The characters are very 3 dimensional and complex. Not your typical comic book characters. I thought Toby Maguire and Kirstin Dunst did a great job. Dr. Octopus was ok. He definitely got a chance to show off the special effects, which by the way are amazing. The fight on the train.. man.. And there was a lot of humor in it too. I found myself laughing a lot, something I wasn't expecting. Good setup for a 3rd movie. Perhaps I may find the movie more exciting than other people because I didn't know what was going to happen next. I never saw the cartoons or read the comics so it was a mystery to me going in about what would happen. But regardless you must see this movie, especially if you like the first one.
