Callers

Many interesting callers today at the help desk.

One person was just overly happy for the circumstances he was in. He had just lost all of his data and all the data of his colleagues. Apparently they've been storing all of their data for the past who knows how many years on this server and today all the folder disappeared, like not there anymore. So you'd think he'd call up all panic stricken and frantic, but no. He's got to be the most kind and considerate caller I've had yet. He asks me how my day is going and how I doing. He's all laughing and making jokes. Just interesing. Perhaps he was in shock.. and humor was the only thing he could think to do. I don't know. I'm just glad I was able to help him. Got him in contact with the network backup people and they got all of his stuff back. So that was good.

Another lady just loved to cuss almost as much as Scott Avery. It was crazy. And the third person was.. well. When I give instructions I try to do them step by step so that the person can follow them. For this girl I apparently was going too fast for her. I knew there was going to be trouble when I asked her to close the open window and she asked how to close the window. "Click the X on the top of the window." "What? Click an X?" "The red X in the upper right hand corner of the window" "Ohhhh, now I see it." *smacks head* She then proceeded not to know what or even where the Start button was. Or what was meant by the term "right-click." I mean I don't expect everyone to be an expect, but for someone is today's world of computers to not know what the Start button is?? That I just found odd/interesting/sad all at the same time, lol.

This post was much longer and interesting and humorous. But my browser messed up and the entry went away. So you're just going to have to trust me that this was the most hilarious, thought provoking piece of prose written this side of the Mason-Dixon line. And if you don't... I'll just have to integrate your derivative straight up your asymtote! `-)

Later. *kiss kiss* : )
