I'm getting my deviated septum operated on tomorrow.

I'm mildly frightened. I don't like going to the doctor. I certainly don't want the anesthesia. Ugh.

Anyone had surgery before? What's it like?

I had to go under when I got my wisdom teeth removed. Everything scares me so of course I was nervous but it was fine. They just gave me a shot, told me to count down from 100... then I woke up. The best part was poking the squishy heart monitor pad they stuck on my chest. Do that, you'll get distracted.

Same as Amelie I got a tooth surgery. Nothing crazy.
I had to count down from 10.. and blacked out at like 7. Woke up woozy and drugged out.

Good luck! I'm sure it'll go smoothly.

Same experience with my wisdom teeth. When I woke up I was totally out of it and I started staring at my dad out of one eye and then the other. I did everything he told me to do, but only after he asked three times. It was like being really drunk. Definitely don't try to drive home! ;) I slept a lot after that and it was totally fine. It was kind of fun, except for the part where I couldn't eat solid food for a week (because of the teeth) and my sister made BBQ ribs.... all I could do was smell them.

I had a small surgery once and they put the anesthesia in through the IV and I can remember yelling at the doctor "It's cold and I think it burns" and then I woke up. My husband has had a couple major surgeries though (2+ hrs, vs my maybe 30min one) and they always give him "something to relax him" first in the IV and then the anesthesia and he never even remembers getting it. However it takes him longer to wake up and he is really thirsty and doesn't feel good for most of the kind of long waking up process. SN - His first surgery he grabbed his junk and shook it at me, the nurse, and his mom. He's a pretty reserved guy so it was HYSTERICAL. Also, don't take your mom back with you ;-)

They'll probably just knock you out and you'll wake up and it'll be fixed. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
