I just woke up from a nap, and I had a really weird and amazing dream.

For the first time in my life, physical pain in real life made a place for itself in my dreaming.

In the dream, I was supposedly this famous model, and I was walking through a store. I stopped at the register because I couldn't walk anymore. It felt like the bones in my hip sockets were grinding together like a mortar and pestle. I stayed asleep long enough to have the dream version of myself go to therapy and resent the irony that she'd be in a wheelchair, but still have feeling in her legs.

When I finally awoke, it was because someone in the hall had laughed a little too loudly, not because of the pain. But once I was taken out of my reverie, I realized the pain I felt in the dream was real, and that my hips were indeed crying out in protest to my current position. Once I had hobbled my way around the room a few times and made my way to the computer, the pain was no more than a dull ache.

I find it marvelous that if one can simply convince one's self that physical pain is like a dream, a trick of the mind, one can overcome it.

Until one wakes up, I suppose. :)

Scarier than that, I woke up the other morning and couldn't breathe.

Hm. I don't think I've ever had a dream where I felt pain but I've had dreams where I've felt things in general...

our mind is indeed powerful. that's why some people really survived in harsh environment or able to climb up mount everest despite of the climate.

some old people r really beautiful naturally. if u look at my mum, u would think she's in early 40s but she's 53. and recently her impromptu medical check up indicated that her body system works as a 32 year old.

It happens to me sometimes.. I'd feel numb or aches in my dreams because of the position I was sleeping though it was never really painful.

thanks for the insomnia tip! Sometimes dreams can be really freaky and seem to bridge into reality. The mind can perceive it as true and therefore u feel the pain...how weird huh?
