No matter how busy i am, I have to write this to tell you how pissed i am with the design industry. To me, its all superficial, hypocritical and totally the wrong line to be in.

[No 1.] I hate AEs, they think they are so "up there", social elite and everything. but most of them in fact are biatches. they suck up to the client acting all demure and efficient, promising them that XX company that they work for can deliver tight deadlines.

AE: Yes! yes! don't worry Mr X, our professional designers will be able to give you a brillant design by tomorrow. *dumb blonde giggle*

AE should say: aiyah! of cos Mr X! donch wolly! i tell ewe hor, those robotic designers in my company, sure can do it one! designers.. ewe know lah, they hor.. where got life one! one day work 20 hrs, sleep 4 hrs, enuff alwready! i just tell them then ewe need the designs by tomorrow mor-ling. they die die also have to do ah! * evil laugh*

[No. 2] I hate the Accounts Department. to put it simply, they take donkey years to pay you.

[No. 3] I hate clients. They call you up, asking you for a quotation, not knowing in mind what they want. Then how possibly can I quote you?

client: how much ah to draw this?

me: erm, can you give me more details, what do you need to be drawn?

client: ahh... anything lah, maybe a xmas tree. how much?

me: only a tree? presents? you need to draw people?

client: can lah, people also can. how much?

me: *frustrated* can you please tell me how many people you want?

client: maybe a few lah, or maybe more.. how much?

me: you mean the more the merrier?

client: yah yah, correct. how much?

me: *i blardy wish i could strangle you over the phone, u dumb lard ass!*


anyway, I think designers are design whores. we do what people ask us to do. you have no freedom, you have no rights to comment. you are just at the bottom of the food chain waiting to be eaten up by those "up there".

We start work in the AM and we also end work in the AM.

I totally agree with wat u say... people up there thought everything can be done in a just snap of the fingers... esp the idotic sales man in my office. thinking he can do a 5 page brochure using a word document... hahaha wat a joke. And happily teach me how to layout.. n proudly tell me i do this in word document leh.... i was like hey... u sent that word document for printing loh... u so slever u do loh... i'm not as capable as u WOR.....

hahha u tell him use word no good. use powerpoint better! the brochure, after printing can click to view slideshow also. :-P
