i am dying to watch a cantonese movie. i hate all movies that are dubbed in mandrian! it loses its essence and flavour!

ok... maybe i miss hong kong thats why. i was highly depressed this afternoon. i wanna walk along the crowded streets of hongkong. i wanna eat the curry rice from the roadside shop! i wanna have my yummy mango drink! i wanna hear some cantonese!

i am seriously beginning to think that i don't belong here, in singapore. the lifestyle here is too mundane for me.

i need some excitement! let me tell you why i think SG is boring.

1: in SG, the shopping is boring, the shops are boring to begin with. orchard road is only a tiny pea compared to those in HK.

2:the movies are highly censored. even a RA 21 movie is being censored because there are 2 girls kissing. come on, if you accept gays in our community then whats the big deal about 2 girls kissing?

3:magazines are censored. have u noticed that if the girl is wearing something translucent, then you dont see her nipple?

4:theres nothing great on tv to watch. no adult channels of any sort. only censored sex and the city shown at 11pm. If we have low birth rates, you have no one to blame. probably couples dont know how to make babies. or maybe the male species got turned off by the nipple, because he doesnt see them on the magazine spread, or probably he fainted at the sight of them. I remembered reading in a magazine, a guy asking for advice from a "aunt agony" of some sort, why his wife didnt get preggy after so long. and it so happens that he had put his *ahem* in his wife's belly button! dont laugh! thats how little people know about sex here.

5:SG is so small that it only takes 45 mins to get from one end to the other. 5 mins more and you will probably land up in our neighbour's land, malaysia. we have no where to go!

6:lack of clubs. we only have 1 famous club. where do all the other young people go to?

7:lack of night spots. shopping closes at 9pm - 9.30pm. no night markets, no 24 hr cafes (well, maybe 1 or 2), no where to chill & no night life. 7-eleven(s) island wide must be the highest earning franchise because its the only convenience store you can find in your neighbourhood, open 24hrs 7 days a week.

8:no gum to chew.

9:apartments are expensive. how do u expect couples to have more couple time and help build your nation when they cant even afford to buy a apartment.
are you feeling bored already? i sure am! after 10pm, there's nothing you can do outdoors, nothing to watch when you go home. no wonder people are becoming depressive here!

ok, before the government officials come after me for over complaining. we do have some good points.

1:we never run out of trash bins. there's almost 1 for every 20 steps you take

2:you'll never have to wait for than 5 mins for the next bus or train. probably because it takes such a short time to reach the end.

3:its safe! and its a fine city! :-)
