A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness." ~ D.H. Lawrence "Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?" "Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost." ~ Seneca "People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect." ~ Daydream Nation "All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death." ~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes "The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road." ~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita "It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend." ~ William Blake Think about it Musicalities! Kill that boredom!

I'm thinking that we won't be having it tomorrow. Maybe we can cut it into cubes or something, I dunno.... but slices definitely won't fly. Hawaii Pacific University sent me a "Premier Application." Basically this means that I just have to fill it out and send my SAT scores. No essay, no recommendations, no application fee. I figure I might as well do it, since it's pretty much free. And if I manage to get in, I'll have SOMEWHERE to go, even though I don't really want to go to school in Hawaii. I'm listening to Battles right now. Leyendecker, specifically. The end is a little weird but overall it's a nice song for something with no words. We got lots of stuff for my party (which actually, not a whole bunch of people are coming to). I'm hoping there's enough for people. Lunch is kinda sorta covered now.... (we got salmon and ciabatta rolls, some lettuce, and hummus- might need to get cheese) But we didn't get Jamba Juice giftcards. X| Working a little on my Beowulf outline/essay. I'm honestly surprised this isn't turning out like utter crap. But for once in... three? years, I'm actually seeing connections and symbolism in the story, and I have something to say about it.... I don't want to sound conceited but I think this might really turn out well.... --- I got 17 out of 15 on my homeostasis comic strip. :D ---Edit--- Duct tape clothes are cool. :0 3 Comments. Hawaii is tricky. You're in a beautiful place, but you're also a mainlander so I'm sure you'll get island fever. I can barely stay there visiting my relatives for more than a couple of weeks before needing to get someplace that isn't completely surrounded by the ocean. R:C-- I have a feeling that everyone at one time or another does something that turns them into That Guy (or That Girl) who the professor thinks is mildly retarded. The trick is that if you're completely fucking lost at something, and it's not something you absolutely want/need to take, drop it before you turn into That Girl. » ranor on 2008-09-20 12:15:58 You can still throw the watermelon cubes... Hey.. Happy birthday!!! I don't know if it is yet over there but it is over here. » Nuttz on 2008-09-20 01:33:48 Watermellon dropper!!!! » etheracide on 2008-09-20 12:45:35
