An unusual encounter with ...
Monday. 7.21.08 12:32 pm
I was pulling down the boot door of my car when a green slimy thin snake (about 70 cm long) dropped down before me and onto the floor. It glided quickly away and went under the car. When I bent down to take a look, it was totally out of sight...

My wife and kids were in the car and the first worrying thought was the possibility of it climbing to the bottom of the car and eventually finding a way in...

but we were in a hurry so we just dismissed that possibility and went off to various places, praying that the snake was left behind or dropped off along the way or went into hiding when I was parking somewhere else.

After running errands and fetching my wife and kids home, I headed off for tuition alone and was quite sure that the possibility of the snake remaining on my car is most unlikely but I was wrong, terribly wrong!

what I saw really shocked me as I was driving! out of nowhere, the same snake glided across the windscreen as I was heading towards a traffic light. before I can react to do anything at all to stop the car or speed it up (hoping to throw the snake off the car by inertia), it disappeared once again on the other side. I was not sure if it dropped off to the road or it glided under the car again.

barely a minute later, I felt something warm moving in my pocket! my hair stood on its ends as I almost jumped out of my seat. taking a risk, I reached in with my bare hands and realised that it was only my phone vibrating because of an incoming message! but this made my imagination went wild! I imagined the snake appearing anytime within the car, crawling pass my feet or sticking its head out of the air-con vents... but i told myself to quickly snap out of it and just committed this matter to God in prayer.

When I eventually stopped at my destination, I shook the car a couple of times but no snake dropped out.

when I eventually reached home later that evening, I took up the courage to open up the front boot of the car to look for the snake... no sight of it at all. I tried taking photos underneath the car but i can't spot it at all... no sight, no movement. it seem like it is totally gone... but I'm not very sure. As I leave the car alone for the night, I can only pray that the snake will not find it cosy enough to make its home within the car and not leave... it happened once to my washing machine when a snake was found under the tumbler and i hope history won't repeat itself...

meanwhile, I think a good car wash at the petrol kiosk tomorrow might just do the trick to drive it away if it's still there...
