One Accident after Another!
Wednesday. 7.16.08 12:23 am
When I received the sms about what happened, I was shocked by the seriousness of the news: pray for ***. He met with an accident last night, spinal fracture and brain haemorrhage. Now in ICU. high chance of being paralysed. He is going to get married in Sept.

We were not sure what hit him but the impact was so great that it completely smashed part of his spine and flung him a great distance away from his bike. He had to receive various stitches on his face and suffers internal bleeding in his brain. He was in great pain and has to be supported by a metal frame that spanned from his waist to his lower jaws (like an external rib cage) so that he will not hurt his back nerves. But amazingly and thank be to God, he did not become paralyzed in spite of the impact and the blood clot in his brain did not expand further.

When my family dropped by to visit him (he was already out of ICU), he was able to recognize us and grabbed my hand to acknowledge his appreciation for our visit and even gave a thumb-up when we asked him how he was feeling. But moments later, he was once again in great pain and he was struggling to break free from the "cage" that he was bound. the pain comes every now and then as the pain killer wears off. Much prayers was offered for him and I believe God will use this difficult time to manifest His glory, power and love. Hang in there, bro. You cannot go yet... keep up with that fighting spirit!

I accompanied him during one of the nights and we had a good heart to heart talk. We decided to leave the "why me?" question aside and trust that God is still in control and He can turn the worst of things for the good of His children.

When I came back from Redang island, I was informed that he is discharged! That's really good news! I really hope that he will recover enough by Sept to be married!

Meanwhile, when I was snorkeling in Redang island, Bo was cut by the coral when he was swimming up. The sharp edge of the coral sliced part of his skin off from this palm (near the thumb) and the cut was so deep that it cut part of his muscles. We had to take a speed boat (in spite of the rough waves in the sea) to get back to mainland and to rush him to hospital to get his palm stitched to stop the bleeding. Thankfully, the sharks did not come when he was cut as he was bleeding profusely while underwater.

The ride to the mainland was very choppy and rough. we were literally holding onto our lives as we bump through the hugh waves that sway us upwards and sidewards!
