Oh, ew, blergh, *puke*
Wednesday. 5.21.08 4:46 pm
I feel crappy today.

Instead of sleeping last night, I involuntarily swallowed almost constantly. This was to reduce the dry, itching at the back of my throat, which was quite horrendous. But since I had to do it every 20 or 25 seconds, it apparently didn't help much. As a topper, I had a sick stomach because of all the saliva I'd swallowed this morning.

My mom gave me a throat lozenge, which let me get some sleep for about two hours. Then I went to school.

My throat is still nasty and I keep hacking/coughing. All day at school. This is big deal for me, because I don't have allergies (soon to change? D:) and I never get sick.

I think it's the amount of chlorine they put in the stinking pool. It burned my nasal passages out..

OH, YEAH! Now I remember that yesterday I got a bunch of that bitter water up my nose and I had to stop to catch my breath.

Anyway. It sucks. Hope your days are better!

Pool chlorine would always get me too.

I hope your throat gets better soon!

Give you one good reason why Christianity is wrong? You mean not the truth or just wrong in general? I could give you plenty of examples of the horrible things Christians have done to convert people. As to why it's not the truth, why do I have to prove anything? You can't give me any facts as to why it's right, because the Bible counts about as much as a book of fairy tales. As far as these things go, it's just a matter of whether or not you believe in it or not.

I really don't feel like doing a whole lot of research just so I can come back and say "hey look, a huge part of your life is made of lies."

Something tells me you probably don't want to stop arguing about this, but I have no desire to change your opinions or anything. I have my reasons for not liking Christianity, you have your reasons for believing in it. Why do we have to talk so much about it?

(And I know it may seem like I'm evading the subject, but I'm not trying to)

That does suck. I think you should find the chlorine person and give 'em a beat down.

I saw the preview so I went out and got the book yesterday and read it. Now I'm reading the sequel. It's pretty trippy, thinking about a city like that, constantly in darkness. It must be like the way Stockholm is in the winter with those huge lamps they put up to keep people from getting depressed. I think I would get depressed anyway, especially if the lamps were always flickering and going out.

Okay, so if the Bible is against incest, what about Adam and Eve? I mean, there had to be something going on with their kids if they populated the whole world.

And here's an amusing tidbit, if it works...

The Jews kinda made up the entire religion. Or, are the people the Bible is centered around, if that's how you want to put it.

And the incest thing... if everybody is descended from the same two people, it doesn't matter who you get with, it's incest. :P Unless you just stop counting it as incest after a point, like, fifth cousins or whatever.

In ancient Egypt the royal families would marry each other to keep the bloodline... royal. Of course, this would also produce weird defects and stuff.

Maybe the Jews just had something against them when they made up that rule.
» randomjunk on 2008-05-21 09:14:38

I think God must have made more people after Adam and Eve because when Cain goes into the Land of Nod I think it already has people in it, and there really wasn't time for all that, even though Adam and Eve did live for a long time.
» Zanzibar on 2008-05-21 09:58:52

If Christianity didn't exist, would people hate the Jews? Eh? Eh?
» randomjunk on 2008-05-21 10:16:15

Oh yeah, because Eve is like, "Of the living" or something to do with living because all the living come from her.

Re: randomjunk... I believe the Romans disliked the Jews pretty heartily. Probably so did anyone who encountered the earlier Judas, Judas Maccabee, who massacred entire cities with his army, and forcibly circumcised everyone within the borders of Israel. One time, he told this town that if they wanted to be spared they could be converted, but they all had to be circumcised. Then, while they were recovering from their circumcisions, he killed them all and took their women and children as slaves. I'd imagine every religion has earned the hatred of some other group of people along the way.

I dunno, I mean the "You killed Jesus, we hate you" thing doesn't seem to be a small problem, exactly.

From what I can tell that's been a big part of their persecution.

Goll Lee what a discussion. Man. If you don't like christianity that's your problem. It's your choice so man leave us alone.

Yeah, I've never had allergies either up until this year.
And they suck. And can go away any time they want.
» Steigenator on 2008-05-22 09:33:14

jacyhenry: I didn't start this discussion. And I dislike a SPECIFIC type of Christian: the kind who won't leave me alone and insist on arguing with me.

Not all Christians may hate the Jews but I can assure you that there are some out there. It's seriously the thing about killing Jesus.
