You Smell Funny
quote for the day
"You see things; and you say, 'Why?' But I dream things that never were; and I say, 'Why not?'"
"A lifetime of happiness! No man alive could bear it; it would be hell on earth. "
-- George Bernard Shaw
song of the moment
The Hand That Feeds
You're keeping in step
In the line
Got your chin held high and you feel just fine
Because you do
What you're told
But inside your heart it is black and it's hollow and it's cold

Just how deep do you believe?
Will you bite the hand that feeds?
Will you chew until it bleeds?
Can you get up off your knees?
Are you brave enough to see?
Do you want to change it?

What if this whole crusade's
A charade
And behind it all there's a price to be paid
For the blood
On which we dine
Justified in the name of the holy and the divine

Just how deep do you believe?
Will you bite the hand that feeds?
Will you chew until it bleeds?
Can you get up off your knees?
Are you brave enough to see?
Do you want to change it?

So naive
I keep holding on to what I want to believe
I can see
But I keep holding on and on and on and on

Will you bite the hand that feeds you?
Will you stay down on your knees?
You lack the season of all natures, sleep

good morning kids. i is very tired. after getting up early yesterday and driving all day and then staying up late to entertain family, i should have slept in longer. oh well, so what if i am the only teenager on the face of the planet who doesn't sleep until at least two in the afternoon. so, yesterday was mostly traumatizing until i got my little reward for it at the end of the day. you see, when i started driving home i had to drive through the hell that is south dallas. normally it's almost liveable, but yesterday it was starting to flood. so, needless to say everything was a mess. cause the flooding started in dallas' largest construction zone and then continued for the next 10ish miles. so, on we all went slolwy and carefully because there really was no other way to escape. only one road leads to houston unlees you want to go to austin or san antonio first, and that would be pointless cause they are all flooded out too. and, fourtunately i left just in time, cause about an hour later they were trying to block that area off. so after that the drive was long and boring, but the rain was little. and then i got to.....conroe! eww! and for several reasons eww. first, their roads just kinda suck. and second, because all within a mile of each other, i got to see three accidents. yes, three. people drive stupidly in the rain. so, i got to do stop-and-go traffic in my poor car that doesn't believe in stopping unless neccessary and also hates to go slow. but so goes a standard. so, i finally made it home at aroung 330. that wasn't too bad for me. depsite traffic, flooding and corsicana, i got home in 3.5 hours. so i come upstairs and out all my stuff down and show jenni her 'presents' and then proceed to find food. rule number one of traveling - always eat before you leave or do a drive through. i did neither. so i go downstairs and talk to me dad for about an hour. then i make jenni and i grilled cheeses and we all talk more. then i did the dishes cause the kitchen was filthy. evidently j&j don't do dishes unless they are told to these days. so eventually we get around to 530ish. dad and i go to this church he wants to scope out cause he has decided it's time to shop again. and then we proceed to chuy's. the wait is over an hour so we leave for abobe. again, a huge line of people standing outside the door. guadalahara...no parking spaces. so we go to chile's where i get my reward. we sit down in the bar area so we don't have to wait, and i head off for the bathroom (to find that i almost look like a drowned-dry rat) and i see...DUN DUN DUNNNNN.....press mckance. and who is this you ask. well, he is a guy who was in my english all year. basically it was 36 weeks of him staring at me and me having to have the guts to talk to him. sound like the brock thing anyone? well, it was better than that. finally around the last couple weeks of school he finally got up the guts to come talk to me, so there was more than a hey...hi...wassup... type of conversation. and then he started dropping in on my economics class and there was more conversation. and by the end of the year we were semi-friends and he stared for halfway across the room instead of all the way across the room. so i went over and said hi and we talked for a few minutes and he introduced me to some really cute guy whose name i cannot remember. and it all made me happy. the end.
