I also want to thank both O8S6A and W515 for birthday cards! And also balloons and a super super nice shirt and anointed cake =P

In 18 years.. and its just the beginning of greater things to come. I've experienced many breakthroughs and learnt many lessons along the way.

To a few of you: There were times in the past when I thought I cannot make it this far. Yet, with all of your help, I've picked up the pieces and moved on. Thank you for not giving up on me! (:

Enough emo stuff.. Haha.

How fitting is it that the last day of school has to correspond with the last day of my 17th. Our teachers all left us with nuggets of inspiration and memories on this day.. Especially Mr How! His lecture dedication was super hilarious, and what he shared during tutorial just made all of us wanna rewind back to the first econs tut of last year, and relieve the journey all over again. Thank you teachers! And here's a big early HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY shoutout to all you teachers out there! (Even Mr Pang dropped by specially just to hand us chocolates).

Mr R gave us random goodies and a lollipop, Mrs Koh chocolates and Mr Chan gave us 1/2 hour off. Yet Mr How sums it up nicely. He said that he doesn't have chocolates to give us, he can give us tips on how to lead our lives. And he duly shared his story with us again. Furthermore he screened scenes from Dead Poets' Society and a photo montage accompany Louis Armstrong's What A Wonderful World.

He took his A's Levels twice and studied for it at home armed with only a Sloman. He did well and chose to study Econs in Uni even though he could have took a course with better job prospects. He came into teaching even though he could earn more in a 9-to-5 job. (4th school in his 4th profession). He could have left halfway, yet he stayed for 10 years, and never looked back. He said it was his calling, and he challenged us all to find a job you're passionate for and which you feel is your calling - and that is more important than anything else; and love also what you do. He told us all to cherish every single moment - carpe diem - for one day we'll just be nothing but ashes and memories in another person's heart.

They gave and taught us all they could to the best of their abilities. "If you guys leran a little bit from me on how to live your life, its enough. Really, its enough". Poignant indeed.

Its all up to us now. We are the stars of our own shows.

What a time to turn 18. Time to take up the mantle, and lead from the front - be the head and not the tail; light and salt of the earth! (:
