Ancient peoples

People always act like ancient peoples were all backward and unelightened because they have they crazy mythological stories and stuff. But what if they weren't? What if they realized that human perception was flawed and they decided "Heck, if we can't explain it anyway, we might as well make it interesting."

That's weird, I was always under the impression that people in those days were all wise and stuff.... although it's possible that they did have overactive imaginations, or were just too lazy to try and explain things in a scientific way...

Blame the Western concept of "progress"--itself a very flawed concept that I think is pretty backwards--for us looking back to the past and saying, "Man, those fuckers were WEIRD."
