I have been dating the same guy for 4 years and have never seen him on New Year's.
Ever.
Just thought I'd point that out.

Last year, I rang in 2013 crying on my brother's couch.

This year I sipped hot cocoa and watched some Doctor Who. Definitely an improvement. Nothing like a Tennant Christmas special to make you feel better about everything.

Now I'm experiencing Windows 8 the way it was meant to be experienced and listening to Chvrches. It's really calming. I like this album. It's called The Bones of What You Believe if you want to check it out. It's on Spotify.

So anyways. Windows 8. I have the Skype and Facebook apps open on either side of my screen... running simultaneously... all with my Desktop running in the middle, so I can listen to music and blog and stuff. All at once. On one screen. I'm really impressed by this operating system for the first time.

But, I also think that if my computer screen were smaller than 17" I probably wouldn't like this as much because everything would be all squished.

Everyone should start the year with really good music and some writing. Maybe someday I'll start the year with a kiss... but today is not that day.

Here's my resolutions:

1. Go to the gym. (Except I actually will do this one because I've been craving cardio like a preggo lady craves watermelon at 3am.)

2. Live life more freely. Loosen the tethers that hold me back from enjoying the little moments. (I'm talking to you, anxiety. Go die.)

3. Kick mental illness in the balls.

That's all. It's not a huge list. They're all healthy for my mind. The first two resolutions basically take care of the third one. They all take care of each other, really. So... it'll be good. I'm looking forward to it. I think.

Happy new year, everyone.
