This weekend was, well....busy...
Friday night we went to Ryan's parents' house to play poker with his stepdad et al. I didn't do as well as the last time we played, but he came out $8 up, so not too bad. It had been decided earlier that his cousin was coming along to Saturday's SCA event, so as soon as we got home (aka 2am) I was put to work at the sewing machine making garb. bah! Eight squinty eyed hours later, he had an outfit fit for...well, a sleep deprived peasant. We we're, however, already running late and none of us had slept. Our only saving grace was Ryan's 7am Mcdonald's run. I'm pretty sure that's ALL we were running on. In any case, we headed out, but not yet to the event. We had two events that day if you remember correctly from previous posts.
Before the SCA event we headed over to Unbridled, an alternative wedding expo. It's great when three people show up at a wedding event. It'd even more fun when they can't really tell who is getting married. We got some really good ideas. That's the great thing about not really having a date and knowing it's sometime in the future...we have time to gather ideas. Oh, and free food is always good. We did have a bunch of people assume we're having a Renaissance themed wedding, which was really funny to just respond, "no, what makes you say that?" heh. I did come to one realization in this whole affair. Gods help the poor bastards we interview to photograph our wedding. Hah. We did see a few stunning portfolios though, so I'm optimistic we'll find someone. It might just take a few before we find one. :)
Once we were done there we headed over to the Winter Brawl where we gathered information about fencing and heavy weapons fighting. OOOhhhh I'm excited! That's really all I can say, hah. We spent some time talking to the Baroness and gathering random contacts. It was a good time. We had planned on seeing a movie afterwards, but we all decided we'd be paying $10 a pop to take a nap in a movie theater, so we rented a few and watched movies until we passed out.
Yesterday we were supposed to have the baby, but Ryan was sick and afraid of getting Lyam sick, so we slept until it was time for gaming at Rich's.
Today I'm supposed to be getting some things done...but honestly I don't have the energy.
I've been up and down all afternoon, and it sucks. All it takes is one offhand comment from someone to spoil my manic. I hate days like this.
