wonder anyone know abt serangoon gardens workers dormitory debate recently.

ive always been concern over news that expose the poor condition of these foreign workers dorms which doesnt meet the basic standard of living. so when the govt has finally decide to take actions on the shortage of foreign workers� housing by converting a serangoon garden technical school to a dormitory, i was relieve though it didnt last long. A typical reaction from the most typical educated yet narrow minded singaporean, this decision was petitioned against by the hatias local residents citing security, noise pollution and traffic congestion thats will be cause by the influx.

what disgusting reason to deny someone a home because of their status, doesnt mean the person is a foreign worker he will rape, rob and get drunk outside your house or start sleeping with your maid, this is so stereotyping! what abt their contribution to the society, the rubbish they cleared and the road they have paved. you guys shld see the living condition of these workers before u use your parker pen to sign that discriminating petition.

Petition to request for improvement on the neighborhood, for less disruption on daily life and reinforcement for residents security, but to reject them from settling down your cosy private estate is just racially unreasonable.

say the govt were to bend in to this, are they gonna bend in the next neighborhood when they relocate them there. its will be an endless cycle. its a matter of attitude and tolerance singaporeans need to have.
