::its 9pm, 1 hr after our closing hr...this customer came up to me with his Q number 59XX asking me how long more he have to wait. i look at the calling screen and stared at the series of 56XX numbers for the longest min before turning back and gave him the most sympathetic expression my face ever known

No fastforward! Who knows...maybe the biggest/best thing in your entire life that will make you the happiest person on the planet will occur in 10 days...and then you would have gone right through it and never been aware of it.
