frustrated.
Thursday April 5, 2007 12:15am
Ugh. I hate it when people put down something that I was excited about. I got into UCSD, but I guess I got into the worst college there, Sixth College. I didn't even have the opportunity to get excited for UCSD because almost every person has told me that sixth college sucks. It wasn't my first choice, it wasn't my fault that I got into there. UCSD was my #1 choice for as long as I can remember, and now I dread going there. There's no other choice for me.. I'd go to SDSU if it wasn't so crowded.

It's one thing trying to get me to transfer to a different university, but it's another thing putting down and rejecting what I got accepted to. Can't you just be happy for me.. for 5 minutes? I don't even want to go to UCSD anymore. Not only because of the college I got into there, but because it's so close to home. I'm at the point where I just want to leave the city or even the state.

I mean, how would you feel if you were excited about going to the school of your choice, but everyone kept criticizing it? I just want them to say congratulations and forget about sixth college or revelle or muir or whatever. Thanks to them, I don't even know what university I want to go to now. I'm trying to not let it affect me, but I can't help it.. especially if I'm hearing how horrible it is all the time. It used to be crystal clear and now.. I'm not so sure.

Sorry.. just venting. probably didn't make much sense or was gramatically correct but i was just frustrated. It pisses me off.

Don't you hate that? It pisses me off.
I know so many people who do that, and I don't like them.

Perhaps they're just jealous.

Anyway, congrats on getting into school of your choice. *nod*

Don't be sorry for venting, a lot of us do that. Hey.. a lot of my friends criticized and still is criticizing about the college I will be going to. Don't be discouraged, congrats for getting into the Sixth College and prove them wrong.

Congrats.

Those people who are bashing your school are probably the same people who will bash a job you have, bash some new clothes you like, bash anything that you think is cool but they dun'. If they truly cared for you and weren't so w rapped up in their own BS ideals, they would have seen how happy UCSD made you and would not have tried to convince you to go to another school.

College.. I dunno. I think, even if it isn't as prestigious a school as some of the others, it's still college and you can easily make a name for yourself. I shunned the top named schools around my town even though I could have gone their because A) My school of choice was far far away from home, B ) I didn' twant to go to a school where I'd constantly run into people from HS, and C ) I figured if I went to a tier 2 or 3 school in Texas, then it would be easier to stand out scholastically. Be a big fish on a small campus, so to speak.. so when I graduate and go on to Law school, I can claim to be one of the best and brightest in the state.

Anyway, I hope you choose your school for you. Maybe you should pick a school far far away to start fresh. New friends, no enemies, new smell. (Not s aying you smell or anything...but I always hear people saying "Dis one girl smells so bad." Not sure if they're t alking about you, though.)

Man, this is a long comment. Sorry.

Seriously, whoever said that Sixth College is not all that and a bag of chips must not know anything about UCSD. Even if 'people' say it sucks and all that other negative mumbo-jumbo, so what? Even if you didn't get into the college of your choice, you still got into UCSD, which is an accomplishment in itself. So you definitely deserve to give yourself a lot of credit for that.

By the time you start here in the Fall (hopefully) you'll realize that everything that is being said about UCSD is jargon and what matters most is how you personally feel about the university and where it will take you, not what others are saying. If you need a voice to help you out on that, I got your back. [=

Anyway, I apologize for this elongated comment but I am actualy at Geisel library right now procrastinating when I should be reading chapters in one of my many, many books.

College is what YOU make of it.
And everyone else can go fuck themselves.
