22 May 09- Mom's 50th Birthday @ Essential Brew

Booked almost the entire 2nd floor for the party. Mom invited about 30 ppl for a buffet spread. Ambience was ok lah, except tat those with knee problems had to slowly stand up after hours of sitting on the floor. Food was quite ok, good if they could provide more drinks rather have just 1. Was quite bored as my dearest D.D. was away listening to JK. Managed to spend the time tokking to my cousin and the rest of the guests were my mom's ex and present colleagues. Presents were plently, most of it were jewellery and flowers. Yes, Diamonds are girls best friends! Finally, after 2-3 hours of rotting, we sang the birthday song with a very cute cake. There was a Miss Piggy from Sesame Street on top with the numbers 50. Helped to take photos and lazed ard watching people tok and eat. Anyway, 50 years doesnt look scarey judging from my mom's bday celebrations. Haha..

Next, rented a car without the knowledge or approval of my dad. Initially, wanted to rent a small car, Hyundai Getz for easy parking and driving since I just got my license 1 month ago. But, the rental company "upgraded: from Getz to Matrix to a MAZDA 6. I was quite surprised as 1. its quite a big car, 2. A sports car? 3. Double the price of Getz. I just prayed that I will bring the car back safely the next day.
Both D.D. and I didnt plan where to go beforehand, so the schedule was decided as and when we liked.

11am- Army Market near Golden Mile for Lunch

Stress man, dun really noe the roads. In the end we got there safely with a few tries of parking in those narrow places before parking at some blocks away.

12.30pm- Dempsy Hil for Ben & Jerry Ice Cream

Had Belgium Wafflle with 2 scoops of Ice Cream. Was very hot in the car the whole time. Plus I was already feeling sick, so need to cool down. After much discussion, D.D. insisted that we go to Expo as he fren told him that was a book fair. How in the world do I noe how to go from Orchard to Expo? So, we just tried to find any expressway. We went past Thomson Road, Upper Thomson Road, Mach Reservior and drove past the Changi airport twice as we missed the Expo sign. In the end, there were no book fairs. So, we settled for Burger King to escape the heat from driving an hour plus.

3 pm- Heading to Jurong Point

Got lost again, went Woodlands, Yishun, Khatib and finally Bukit Timah where I recognised the way back. Am super tired as we drove the whole day. Funny thing is that D.D. told me that I was not confident while driving to the other places earlier but was very confident while driving on Bukit Timah. Haha. Reached at abt
5pm, had dinner and watched Angels & Demons. Thought that the movie would be difficult to understand like the 1st movie. But, surprising, it was ok, interesting and exciting with many climax. Reached home at about 10 plus. Exhausted from driving for prob 4-5 hours in total? But am happy that D.D. was able to experience my driving and he could experience being a King for 1 day.
